Hailee Steinfeld versus Peyton Roi List

BEFORE:

Pair of fighters with new management face off in this one with brunette Steinfeld, recently acquired by Lookout! Boxing going up against blonde List, a new addition at HISC. And, while both fighters have had ups and downs in their respective careers, both have also been doing well of late and seem confident of keeping those streaks going. "Peyton's going to be a challenge," says Hailee. "She's always had talent and all that. But, I have MORE. And, that will be the difference."

"It's nice to see Hailee get a chance with Lookout!," says Peyton with a smile. "And, I'm sure she'll do well for them. But. Not tonight."

ROUND ONE:

Ladies boxing at range, no surprise, because both blonde and brunette are plenty good at this. Things are pretty even for a minute or so, but, quickly, Hailee gets into rhythm and starts putting punches together, tossing the blonde to the defensive again and again. Peyton isn't hurt, but, soon enough, she's in retreat, as Steinfeld exploits the advantage, sitting down on some hard right hands. Final minute sees the brunette fighting lead while the blonde is reduced to banging back in counter in spots. Steinfeld getting stronger and stronger as the round goes on, and, when the bell rings, there's no doubt about the points. Hailee takes them wide and leads 10-9.

ROUND TWO:

More of a two-way round this time around. Steinfeld gets off to the hot start, building off what she did in the first, but, about midway through the round, Peyton finds her footing. She's getting the angles down now, getting to spots, getting off. Hailee keeps working hard, but she's not as effective in the second half of the round. Instead, it's the blonde who starts getting the better of things, cuffing Hailee with some hard right hands that get the brunette's attention and slow down her offense. List looking plenty good in the final thirty seconds, backing up Hailee with a series of nice combinations. But, it's not quite enough to offset Steinfeld's first 90 seconds. The brunette takes the points narrowly and goes up 20-18, but List's looking to have turned the tide.

ROUND THREE:

List off to the hot start this time. She's getting the left hand on over and over again, following on with solid rights that preempt, and, at times, back up the brunette. Hailee, however, slowly makes some adjustments, showing more head and foot movement, slipping that left and getting her own on target, building combinations off it. By mid-round it's good, two-way stuff with both fighters getting some, but not enough of what they want. Final minute sees both blonde and brunette turn up the heat in a joint effort to both claim the points and gain control of the bout. Neither fighter manages the latter, but, at the bell, Peyton's narrowly done the former to cut Steinfeld's lead to 29-28.

ROUND FOUR:

Back and forth to start the fourth. Both fighters have gotten into good rhythms now, both have their offense going and are playing good defense as well. There's not much in it...BOOM! Right hand, HAILEE and Peyton is HURT! List's knees do a shimmy and Steinfeld is ALL IN. Hailee throwing BOMBS with both hands, and DOWN GOES PEYTON! List dropped to her back by a NASTY right hook, barely able to make it back to her feet at nine. Ref thinks about it during the mandatory, but waves on Hailee. Steinfeld battering the blonde back to the ropes and then DIGGING some body, determined to bring that guard down, but the blonde hanging tough, clinching, trying to run clock. Hailee looking hard for the 'off' button over the last 45 seconds, head hunting the entire time, but List keeps it hidden to the bell. When it rings, Steinfeld's won the round 10-8 and extended her lead to 39-36.

ROUND FIVE:

Hailee determined to finish this thing now, wading in on the blonde, banging away with both hands and GETTING ROCKED! NASTY counter by the blonde leaves Steinfeld's knees a-wobblin'! List immediately over to the offensive, backing up the brunette again and again with hard right hands. Hailee covering up, countering here and there, but mostly taking an absolute THUMPING as the roles are completely reversed with Peyton now trying to end things and Hailee the one desperately hanging in. Final seconds see List force the brunette to the ropes, but, try as she might, Peyton can't get the stoppage. At the bell, she's taken it wide, but Hailee still lead by two, 48-46, at the half.

ROUND SIX:

List after Steinfeld early, but staying plenty sound, and, with all the twists and turns of this one, that's plenty wise. Blonde walking the brunette down behind the left jab, following on with hard rights. Hailee's legs still unsteady, so she has to give ground, trade space for time. Peyton effecting a nice cleanup here, but that's not what she wants. She wants...BOOM! Right hand, PEYTON and DOWN GOES HAILEE! Steinfeld crashing to her right side after a BLISTERING right from List. Peyton to a neutral corner, thinks it's over, but somehow the brunette struggles to her feet. Ref gives her the mandatory and ON COMES PEYTON. List throwing everything in the magazine at the brunette, trapping her on the ropes, HAMMERING her and IT'S ALL TOO MUCH! The ref leaps in and bundles Hailee to safety and it's OVER! And your winner by TKO6 is Peyton List!

AFTER:

Peyton all smiles, despite being plenty scuffed. "She's definitely a girl to watch at this weight, but, as I just proved, so am I. It's all coming together for me at HISC and I can't wait to get back in the ring and keep proving how right they were to sign me!"
