Location: Miami, Florida
BEFORE: The notorious Geordie operator Vicky Pattison made the trip across the Atlantic to find out she's the betting underdog against former Miss Universe-turned-Sports Illustrated model Olivia Culpo. "How rude! I punch twice as hard as she does and let's be honest, she's not exactly the second coming of Cindy Crawford when it comes to making people miss!", Vicky questions the unfavorable odds but Olivia's athletic frame usually wins her the early attention even though she remains buried under .500 and was badly exposed by Pattison's compatriot Lottie Moss last time she entered the ring.
Vicky Pattison wears a white bikini set & black gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a custom ponytail. Olivia Culpo wears a crimson red bikini set & silver gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Both women are barefoot. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1:
Vicky shocks the Miami crowd by dialing up a speedy jabbing assault that catches Olivia by surprise and the early action has the British tourist firmly on top of the head-hunting action. Culpo tries to stay in the exchange and she lands a couple of solid hits but then gets busted with a drilling left hook on the eye and staggers back to her heels while Vicky keeps working the high-octane effort to drive the briefly ineffective opponent back to the ropes. Olivia tries to regain some control but she's forced to live with Pattison's ultra aggressive approach and she just can't stop it until the latter stages when the round is lost on points already. She tacks on a couple of blows into the Brit's cleavage but almost gets shoved through the ropes wholesale as Vicky refuses to let her go at the bell.
Rounds 2 & 3:
Olivia methodically works her way back into contention as she slips by another slugging burst from Pattison and outworks her in the counter-punching delivery. Some fans believe the American model should become more aggressive but apparently there's a more detailed tactical plan in the works that includes Pattison getting worn out into extinction. The tourist still kicks up plenty of dust as she displays supreme mobility around the Miami sands but her precision goes away and she's unable to trap Culpo in similar fashion to the opening round. Meanwhile the former Miss Universe carries more leather wrath into her face and escapes with a solid recovery fuelled by a steady gut-checking series in the third. Vicky appears to be hurting while getting blasted to the body and she gives the younger brunette a lenghty stare at the bell.
Rounds 4 & 5:
More slugging heroics from Olivia who becomes more aggressive and lands several hard punches both high & low and seemingly drops Vicky into the proverbial point of no return especially after she cuts her up below the left eye half-way through the fourth. Ugh! Vicky spends majority of that round weavin around and yielding real estate and there's every chance she finally acknowledges Olivia's atheleticism as genuine threat which only helps the American to expand her range. She bullies the tourist back to the ropes and tries to chop her in half with more body strikes before a lenghty clinch slows her progress down. It's quickly resumed in the fifth though as Vicky misses on the early put away and has to dance around on her toes to avoid Culpo's swarming push. The Rhode Island native is all over the Geordie woman and pounds her back to the ropes where she drops more harpoons to the body before a misjudged uppercut switch that bounces off the high-guard. Vicky still soaks up more damage downstairs and has to clinch the SI model before she traps her in a standing headlock to finally earn a lenghty respite. However it's Culpo who leads on points at half-distance!
Round 6:
Vicky fires a hard left/right series and beats Olivia for another right-on-right moments later before crashing a rare shot into the younger brunette's solar plexus that suddenly renders the American numb in the center of the ring. She's too slow to recover and raise her arms so Pattison NAILS her with a free right hook on that jaw that would drop majority of the division face down on the sand. And Culpo is no exception as she heads for the yellow-ish surface and has to spit some of it during a slow count. Ugh! That is still a hard one right here and Olivia can only make it onto all fours before freezing for the rest of the ordeal. She's not gonna make it!!! KO6 Vicky Pattison in come-from-behind fashion!!!
AFTER: This is a bitter pill to swallow for the Rhode Island model who just couldn't put the icing on the cake despite dominating the Geordie tourist by the numbers for majority of the fight. Some fans claim Vicky displayed a much improved punching resistance and she still upset the odds taking a rare underdog victory on the beach. She leaves the makeshift ring with a beaming smile on her face and vows to give Olivia a rematch "anytime, anywhere" but the FMF entourage is still too shocked by tonight's result to give a clear answer.
