Intro:
It is now time for the FCBA lightweight title bout. The ACB lightweight champion Yvonne Strahovski looks to add more gold to her waistline and add to an already legendary career with her sixth FCBA lightweight championship on her CV. Across the ring from her is the new champion Dua Lipa looks to make her first defence a successful one. Who is going home with the gold?

These two have fought once before. You have to go back to 2020 for that bout on a Fight Night Live card in December of that year. Yvonne won that encounter by causing a referee stoppage in the seventh round. Of course both women are older and more wiser since that encounter.

Of course with a major title fight there was a press conference the night before. A stage set up in a conference hall near the FCBA Arena. On one side Yvonne walked onto the stage wearing an emerald green dress and heels, the ACB lightweight title is on the line but Yvonne proudly wears it around her waist. Dua meanwhile walls into the stage in a black dress with silver heels, the FCBA title around her waist as the champions face off with their fists raised, both look relaxed as cameras flash to capture the moment.

Both women walk over to stools set up for them as a podium is set up where they were standing. Both women having a polite conversation as Yvonne jokes about this being Dua's first time at a press conference as a champion compared to Yvonne being a veteran of these.

Then it's time for Yvonne to speak her mind as she steps up to the podium. She starts off nice enough as she says "first I want to give my congratulations to Dua on winning her first title. While I am not as young as I once was (winking to the crowd of journalists), I do remember how wonderful that moment felt. Dua deserves her moment in the spotlight as I know she has worked hard to earn that title." Dua smiling warmly at her challenger in reply.

Yvonne then says "so it won't be nice having to take that title from her but I will be a double champion come the end of Friday night. I took stock earlier this year of what I was doing with my diet and training, I feel fresh and my results have shown it over these last few months, including winning this title I am very proud of. When I win the FCBA title, maybe I should go to the BBU to win their title, become a bit of a belt collector." Yvonne grins clearly enjoying the thought of carrying three titles around with her.

It is now time for Dua to have her moment in front of the podium. Dua takes a breath as she takes the title off around her waist to place it over her right shoulder. She then tells the crowd "I should make it clear out the gates that while Eden Cohen will get a shot at this title if I remain the champion. My thoughts are not on that bout or her, all my thoughts are on this bout and retaining the title." Tapping it with her left hand.

Dua then says with an intensity that underlies how important this bout is to her "this bout means so much to me. Thank you to Yvonne for some of the kind comments she made. The thing is I owe you some payback for beating me in our previous contest and I am not going to drop this title that easily. I didn't work so hard to lose it in my first defence." Holding the title up above her head as Yvonne stares up at it.

They have one more face off as Yvonne nods at the title in Dua's procession. Dua telling Yvonne she isn't going to take it from her. Both touching foreheads to show they mean business, deciding to save their energy for the fight as they step apart moments later. Walking off the stage at separate ends.

Fight Night! First out is Yvonne as she walks down the aisle wearing a navy blue sports bra with matching trunks, shoes and gloves, her hair is tied into a ponytail. Yvonne has her coach Nicole Kidman beside her as they stand near the ring steps. Yvonne jogs up the ring steps and steps inside the ropes as she looks fired up to become a double champion.

Here comes the champion as Dua has her coach Giselle Bundchen behind her. Dua taps the title belt around her waist with her red right glove. Once she is near the ring Giselle helps remove the belt before Dua climbs into the ring. Dua is wearing a red sports bra with white trim, matching trunks and shoes, hair is braided for battle. She bounces on her toes with Giselle telling her to take a breath to calm any butterflies she is feeling over this moment.

Both women walk to the center of the ring at the urging of the referee. The final instructions are read out as the title belt is shown to them. Once that is done they jog back over to their corners, ready to start 10 rounds of FCBA lightweight title bout action.

Round 1:
"Ding!" Both trading jabs to start with some of their attempts landing on their opponents gloves. Dua steps inside with a jab into the chest of Yvonne to push her back a step, a straight follows into the lips of the challenger to the delight of the Girls Friday crew. Yvonne though catches her with a left cross on the cheek of Dua to show her it won't be so easy to walk her down.

Dua steps in with a left hook to the ribs of Yvonne, following with a right cross up top. Yvonne finds herself soon herded around near the ropes. Dua starting to put together her combos with two and three punches flying in. Yvonne landing single punches in reply as she is moving side to side.

Late in the round the proud Aussie dips under a straight to rifle in a short right to the abs of her opponent. Dua finding herself muscled back onto ropes behind her, getting whacked around her torso. The round comes to an end with both nodding to their opponent to show them respect.

Round 2:
Back out their corners with more punches being thrown in volume. Yvonne being more forceful as she steps inside to work the stomach of her opponent. Dua landing back around the head of Yvonne to make her back off. Both women staring hard through their gloves as they look determined.

Yvonne deflects a jab as she steps in with a left cross that is followed by an uppercut. Dua finding herself knocked to her heels with Yvonne piling the pressure on. The challenger landing several hooks around the guard of Dua to her face and into her body. That forces Lipa to grab onto her in a tight clinch.

They are split apart with Yvonne quick off the mark when they are told to fight, landing a straight square into Dua's chest before landing a short left hook to her jaw. Dua covering up and really only throwing one punch at a time. The round comes to a close with Yvonne looking great.

Round 3:
Resuming with their eyes firmly on the prize here as they exchange more punches in bunches. Yvonne soon enough steps inside with a left hook to the body followed by a right hook. Dua finding it hard to dislodge Yvonne as the ACB champion is digging away at her torso to try to sap her energy.

Dua manages to land a crisp left hook to the ear of her challenger, making Yvonne take a step back. The champion follows up with a double jab into the forehead of her opponent. Dua holds the center of the ring with her punches thudding through the mitts of Yvonne into her face.

But late in the round Yvonne reads a jab incoming and slips it. Landing a counter right square into the nose of Dua, who covers up after she cries out. Yvonne drives her back into her own corner with straight body shots. Giselle is yelling at her fighter to try to battle back. The bell dings to end proceedings with Dua sitting on her stool looking frustrated. Giselle telling her to keep her head and to think through what she is doing in the rounds.

Round 4:
Dancing on her toes just before the bell rings, Dua looks hyped up as she lands several punches square into the forehead and chest of Yvonne. More firefights between the two top fighters as the crowd roars them on. Yvonne keeps to the body of Dua but is getting clipped more around her head in reply.

An uppercut soon catches the blonde stunner on her chin to knock her head back. More then half the round to go and Strahovski is on the ropes with Lipa firing on her punches around her guard. It's Yvonne now needing to clinch up to slow down the action. Both grinding foreheads in the clinch till they push apart from each other.

Fighting on with Dua looking more mobile now, using her footwork to create some angles to strike Yvonne flush around or through her guard. The FCBA champion starting to show what got her the title as Yvonne now shells up. The round ends with Dua jogging back to her corner with sweat slowly running off her brow. Yvonne nods to Nicole knowing she isn't going to have an easy time here.

Round 5:
Returning to the middle of the ring to trade stiff punches. Yvonne looking to find her way in closer, finding more punches smacking into her cheeks to the delight of the champions fans. Yvonne is a veteran and she shows it with a feint before dipping down to ram home a jab/straight into the body of Lipa to make her groan.

Near the ropes goes Dua as she looks to keep Yvonne at range with her jabs. A straight slams into her chin though to knock her head backwards. A CLUBBING LEFT HOOK CATCHES DUA ON HER JAW TO FORCE HER DOWN ONTO HER LEFT KNEE!

Yvonne stares down at her with a menacing expression to intimidate her to stay down before she walks to the neutral corner. 1....2....3... Dua shakes her head to shake any cobwebs away. 4....5....6... Looking at the referee as they are being counted. 7....8... Dua stands up with her gloves raised, she doesn't look too hurt but still the psychology edge right now is on Yvonne's side.

The challenger looking to keep the heat on the champion. Dua finding herself needing to box around near the ropes, covering up when her torso is struck by straight punches to the joy of the Lookout! Crew. The round ends with Yvonne making a statement here. Dua on the other hand is checked over by Giselle to make sure she can fight on. Dua nodding that she will be ok as she taps her toes to maybe show some anxiety.

Round 6:
Trading with Yvonne looking to step in more. Dua gives ground early on as she doesn't want to be caught out again. Problem with that tactic is that Yvonne cuts off the space for Dua to operate in. The challenger digging in more punches around the chest and stomach of Lipa to cause red marks to form.

Dua does catch Yvonne several times over the top to her cheeks to make the blonde think about it. Yvonne taps her gloves together at times as she looks fired up to win this contest, keeping Dua herded around the perimeter of the ring as Giselle shakes her head.

Less then forty five seconds to go. Dua lands a jab square into the forehead of Yvonne before a straight lands on her nose. Blood has been drawn as it trickles from Strahovski's nostrils. Yvonne finding herself backed up now as a follow up jab/straight lands into her face. Yvonne feeling the pressure now as Dua looks to finish strong with more hooks and uppercuts coming. Yvonne showing a good defence to block most of the blows.

The bell dings to end proceedings. Sitting on their stools with sweat dripping off their brows and the end of their noses to the canvas. The fire in their eyes hasn't dampened at all. Dua takes a breath to stop any nerves and maybe to put some more air in her tank from Yvonne's thudding body shots. While Yvonne's nose is worked on to stop the bleeding.

Round 7:
Both women struggle to grab control early as things get a little scruffy, some hitting and holding going on as Yvonne looks to keep in the grill of her foe. Near the end of the opening minute her nose gets spiked with a straight to cause more claret to run from it.

Dua not showing any mercy when she strikes through the mitts of Yvonne to her nose, making the challenger grimace. Yvonne rams home a few punches to the belly button of Dua in reply to make her back off as the crowd roar these two warriors on.

A left hook catches Yvonne late in the round near her temple to force her to retreat back. Dua finding a second wind it seems as she plugs in a four punch straight combination into the face of her opponent. Yvonne now the one in her own corner as Dua keeps her unwraps with her punches switching up from the head to the body.

At the ding of the bell they lock eyes in a tense stare as neither will back down to the other. Dua soon is ordered back to her corner as Yvonne sits on her stool, wincing as her nose is worked on as some blood drips onto her bust. Dua meanwhile takes a drink before spitting a little blood out her mouth, clearly cut on the inside of her cheek. Neither can be said they are holding back here.

Round 8:
Pushing off their stools with duelling chants ringing out around them. Both women are slinging in straight punches, Yvonne keeps trying to plug hers into the belly button of Dua. A right cross though lands on her nose and Yvonne howls out as her eyes shut in agony.

That certainly has done some damage as Dua pounds in more punches to the head of the challenger. Yvonne tries to hold onto her but an uppercut snaps her head back to send blood and sweat flying out. A FOLLOW UP RIGHT HOOK CRASHES ONTO THE CHIN OF YVONNE TO SEND HER DOWN ONTO HER BACK!

Dua takes a breath with hands on her hips before she walks to the neutral corner. 1....2....3... Yvonne turns her head to the left with some tears in her eyes. 4.....5....6... Blood is dripping from Yvonne's nose onto the canvas. 7....8... Yvonne rolls to her left side with her right glove going to her nose. 9....10 it's all over! Yvonne is counted out!

Winner and still FCBA lightweight champion Dua Lipa KO Round 8

After:
Dua leans back against the turnbuckles of the neutral corner with a Cheshire cat like grin on her face. Too tired to celebrate too much. This was an important personal win as it was about keeping the title. Getting to even the score with Yvonne, along with making a successful first defence of her maiden world title run.

Giselle steps into the ring to check on Dua and give her a hug. Giselle telling her fighter how proud she is of her as Dua sheds a few tears of joy. The Dua fans chanting her name as they get the chance to celebrate this time over the Yvonne fan base.

With Yvonne needing to be helped up by Nicole and over to her stool. She can't hold the tears back as her nose is patched up. She can be pleased it isn't broken, the bad news is it cost her the title tonight as tissue paper is shoved up it to stop the bleeding.

Over comes Dua after her gloves are taken off. The two champions sharing an embrace to a round of applause after the war they just fought. Yvonne praising Dua for not letting the knockdown break her spirits. Dua crediting Yvonne for pushing her throughout the fight as they both smile.

Once Yvonne feels up to it she leaves the ring. She waves to her fans and looks apologetic that she couldn't bring home another title. She still can proudly look at the ACB title of course and her dreams of becoming a belt collector aren't over yet. The BBU lightweight title of course could be a path she looks to venture down in future.

In the ring Dua gets her right hand raised in victory as the title is placed around her waist. While she wants to thank her fans, her attention is diverted as an unwelcome sight for her makes their presence known at ringside.

Eden Cohen is here and screaming repeatedly into the ring "I am next!" Pointing at the title. Dua yells back "come on then!" As security keeps Eden out the ring and Giselle points out to Dua it wouldn't be wise to get into a catfight now after just going right rounds with a legend.

Cooler heads prevail here as Eden holds her hands up and backs off. She does tell a nearby camera "that title is going to look so much better around my waist then that bytches." As she certainly isn't holding back her feelings on the title situation.

Of course these two now will officially meet soon on the stable war between their stables, the Vixens on one side and Girls Friday stable on the opposite side. The fight between Eden and Dua could very well steal the focus on that night as both look to take the others pride and take home the title in a few short weeks.
