Samara Weaving versus Naomi Scott

(Words: O & E / Results: Lookout!)

Before: “This may not be a good match up for Sam if she’s serious about breaking the slump,” notes one BLONDE! Magazine correspondent. “If Samara clears her head, fights her fight and executes the way she can, she could win. But even if she wasn’t slumping, she can get beat by Naomi, no matter what HISC says. But you can’t get back on track against cupcakes and Scott’s the kind of fighter who can ask all the right questions in the ring.” Naomi in white one piece with silver patter, matching gloves, hair is pulled back in a tight battle braid. Samara in black-and-white horizontal striped halter top, black bottoms and gloves, shoulder-length hair loose.

R1: Samara upright, taking straight left/rights off her face while reaching with her left to find Naomi, right hand cocked and ready to throw. Scott jabbing, scooting to her right - she wants to spread Weaving out, then nail her righty. Naomi stepping left around a stiff left-jab, punishing Sam's face. Weaving crossing arms with back of right hand at left cheek/left hand up under right armpit, trying to bob her way close. Scott laying in the odd strong, slinging right - stamping it to Samara's forehead. Down the stretch, Weaving able to step in with wide right hands to body, punching Scott out of her stance...too little too late as Naomi's able to leg out the clock.

R2: Free-swinging melee midring, Naomi catches a wild overhand right across her face, causing her to stamp around in fence post holes. Samara reaching in under Scott's arms, legs driving brunette into ropes, leads to a trio of pumping right hands to Naomi-gut out of the wrap as Sam keeps her left arm in under Scott's right. Naomi groaning, bunching up in pain, ties up for ref's break. Samara pushed back, but she's in little blonde bully mode, hair in her eyes as she wades back in, slamming wide right/lefts to Scott's hips, then shrugging right uppercuts through the middle as brunette forms earmuff. Naomi shoved and battered as Sam romps to torso and head: brunette covering up, squirming in the pocket, clinching when she can...she survives, but can't get out from under in a torrid Weaving second.

R3: Ref's back is to Samara, she gets a rolling start before the bell, tackling Naomi in her corner Mishy-style before the stool is out. Brawling shove-and-slug - Weaving driving on Scott - always seeking to secure-and-smother prior to plowing right hands to tits&tummy. Naomi gnashing her teeth, trying to wriggle arms in under Sam's and wrestle blonde girl off; fighting bogs down in a swamp of holding and hitting, much to Aussie's benefit. Weaving constantly pressing her weight on Scott, pinning her Brit to ropes or turnbuckles, laying atop her while fitting right mitt to paunch...not pretty, but Naomi effectively smeared across the turnbuckle by grinding blonde assault in the third.

R4: Samara storming forward, looping fight-ending haymakers, Naomi seeing the incoming, electing to scamper rather than trade - leads to a wide-open attack/counter-attack rhythm. Scott ranging the ring, looking to curl-in and flurry from angles: she's still slapping away on jug, getting it done in spots. Weaving chasing her brunette, jabbing for Naomi's jugs via pawing left in set-up to walloping rights. Scott's legs pull out the round: Sam just can't find punching solutions often enough to impose will.

R5: Stalking, relentless pressure from Samara: chin tucked, dukes at chest as she bores in, hurls to the body, beats Naomi to ropes, looks to pile on. Scott looking spooked, taking it loud to the ribcage, but flurrying well off the ropes, shoe-shining Weaving's face just enough to startle, then squirting off to her right, escaping to open canvas. Weaving's round: Scott denying blonde girl decisive engagements, but at the cost of points.

R6: Naomi continues to fade back behind her jab, drawing Samara forward, and Aussie starts to overextend on leaping, looping punches. Scott firm with the stick, finally disrupts an uppercut with a pre-emptive thump on the face, Weaving impatient to finish, starting to get nickled and dimed as the blonde picks her up. Second minute, Sam coming forward, Naomi doubles up the jab, pokes a lead right hand to the chin and turns over a crashing wide hook on the chops that has her blonde staggered! Weaving stepping in fence post holes, arms extended to clinch - Scott steps back, brushes a wide timing hook to distract then leans into a BASHING short right on the teeth! Gobsmacking punch all shoulder and back behind it, no backswing as Naomi bends in with it and SAMARA GOES DOWN! Weaving flattened midring, limbs all spasmy and hurt - she rolls to her side and CAN'T BEAT THE COUNT! Stunning KO6 Naomi Scott!

After: Naomi cruising past, looking Samara over satisfaction: little bully just couldn’t get herself into range often up to make this a thing a rough-house. Weaving puffy and sore, looking dazed and contrite: equations laid down by a tall, quality bantam -proved awfully difficult to solve tonight. “Sam was much easier for me to find than Troi was--always right at the end of my punches. She’s not strong so much as she is energetic--when she does get on top of you, she’s very difficult to dislodge, so it’s important to keep your distance. I just boxed the girl, took her apart with my jab, then broke her down from there. Just what I’ll need to do when I get Natalie out in front of me again. Because I’m not going to let things stay the way they are now, you can count on that!”
