Pre-Fight: League of Mighty Women’s Anya Taylor-Joy and Lookout! Boxing’s Hailee Steinfeld will be facing each other in the final of the tournament to crown the inaugural Empress of the Body Saddle. They were both among the favorites before the tournament as they are both rising stars that are performing well this year and they live up to the billing by making it to the final. Anya defeated Michelle Keegan and Natasha Calis, while Hailee defeated Malu Trevejo and Jennifer Love Hewitt on their respective ways to the final.

Anya speaks first during the pre-fight press conference. “I have dealt with other bullies up to this point and I will now deal with Hailee. She acts nice and all, but she thinks that she can steal my thunder just because she had a good season after changing stables and divisions. I won’t let her bully me like that. It is my moment and I worked hard for it, so I won’t let her ruin that. I will win my first title!”

Hailee rolls her eyes before making her own statement. “She sounds delusional about everyone trying to get her and her personal crusade against the bullies in FCBA, so I will just ignore all that. She is right about one thing though. It has been a year of change for me and I have been performing well since making those changes. I have finally started to realize my potential, so I would like to take the next step and win my first title!” After their remarks, both fighters face each other off and pose for the cameras. There is a strange intensity between the two as it feels less personal and more to do with the fact that they see each other as the final hurdle before their first title victory. It is as if who their opponent is doesn’t matter, they both just want that first title very badly.

It is time for the title fight and Anya enters the arena first followed by her coach Gillian Anderson. She carries her body saddle as she makes her way towards the ring and she acknowledges the fans cheering for her by raising her fist first and then tapping the body saddle.

Anya is wearing a black sports bra, matching trunks, pink gloves and boots, while her hair is tied into a ponytail.

Hailee enters the arena next, accompanied by her coach Julie Benz, who is carrying the body saddle. Hailee blows kisses and waves to the crowd cheering loudly for her. She has a big smile as she enjoys the interactions with the fans, but her demeanor quickly changes as she enters the ring and makes eye contact with her opponent. They are now both focused on the task at hand.

Hailee is wearing a purple sports bra with black trim resembling her costume from the Hawkeye series, matching trunks, gloves and boots, while her hair is also tied into a ponytail.

Both fighters come to the center of the ring to listen to the final instructions of the referee and then they go for a rather stiff touch of gloves with a cold stare. They step back to their respective corners and we are ready to crown the inaugural Empress of the Body Saddle!

Fight: Round 1: As expected, we are getting a slow start to the title fight. They both have similar approaches as they like to keep their distance, be patient and look for counterattack opportunities. So, they start things off by slowly testing each other’s range with one-two combinations without really meaning to land it, just gauging their opponent’s reactions and movement. They don’t want to make a mistake early on as both fighters are trying to win their first title and they are clearly feeling the nerves because of it. Neither of them even land a clean punch in the first minute and the crowd starts to get restless, which adds to the tension. Anya is the first one to take the risk and go for a bolder move. She feints with a jab as if she is going for a routine one-two check, but instead she steps in with a hook to the ribs, that catches Hailee off guard. Anya quickly follows it up with a lead uppercut and a right hook to the chin. Hailee retreats and Anya is in pursuit. Hailee scores with a couple of defensive jabs, but Anya knows that she has the advantage right now and presses on with it. She lands one-two combinations up top and some hooks to the ribs to keep her opponent guessing. Hailee looks nervous, maybe regretting that she let Anya take control of the fight first and she is now having trouble to match the pace and get her own offense going. It was all Anya for the rest of the round, which started slow, but the pace picked up unexpectedly. Anya walks over to her corner with a smirk on her face as she takes the early lead on the scorecards.

Round 2: Anya rushes forward as soon as the bell rings to keep the pressure on her opponent, but unlike the opening round, Hailee is pushing forward too and she acts faster to land a one-two combination. She clearly wants to show that two can play this game and they do play it. Instead of settling for a stand-and-exchange, they are keeping their feet moving, but still exchanging frequently in short bursts. It is a battle of two leggy bantams trying to use their movement and reach to one up each other. After some blocked shots on both sides, Anya steps in, feints with a jab and lands a hook to the ribs instead. Hailee returns the favor with a hook up top and they quickly start circling again. It is the kind of pace that both fighters use frequently to tire out their opponents, but we will see who will come out on top in this case. They both step in at the same time, going for a one-two combination, but Hailee literally beats Anya to the punch and lands first, which also causes Anya to miss. Hailee starts to land her combinations more consistently compared to her opponent as she is using her slight reach advantage and her timing is more on point right now. She imposes her will on Anya slowly but surely as she forces her to retreat and switch to a defensive stance. Hailee dominates in the last minute to win the round wide and tie up the score. During the break, she looks happy with her performance as Julie tells her to keep up the good work and keep the pressure on Anya.

Round 3: As the third round begins, Anya challenges Hailee again to fight for the control of the center of the ring. She times her approach better this time and ends up being first to land a double jab-straight combination. She tries to follow up with a hook, but Hailee steps back in time to avoid it and starts circling. Anya tries to push for control with a couple more short combinations, but they are either blocked or dodged. Now it is Hailee's turn to try to regain control of the fight. Her double jab gets blocked, but then she splits Anya’s guard with a stiff straight that lands hard. Hailee quickly follows it up with a hook to the chin and Anya is on the back foot again. Hailee ups the pace to put more pressure on her opponent. She steps in and out of range to land short combinations. Anya is responding with some defensive jabs, but they are not enough to slow Hailee down, who seems to have found her rhythm. Towards the end of the round, Hailee lands some stiff straights that snap Anya’s head back, putting her in a hard position. Things are looking good for Hailee though, she wins the round wide and takes the lead on the scorecards. In between the rounds, Gillian tells Anya to move her head more and to use more feints before going for body shots to slow her opponent down.

Round 4: Hailee rushes to the center to take control of it, but Anya doesn’t challenge her this time. She switches back to a more defensive and cautious approach. Hailee kicks off the action with a double jab-straight combo, but Anya blocks it. She goes for another one-two, but Anya ducks under it and lands a hook to the ribs. They reset and go at it again. This time Anya approaches with a feint up top and then goes down for an uppercut to the abs. She is listening to her coach, moving her head and changing levels more frequently, which seems to be working well for her as Hailee struggles to follow her. Hailee finally gets her offense going with a one-two combo, but she pays for it quickly with a couple of hooks to her ribs that make her wince. Anya starts to stay inside longer as she keeps landing lead uppercuts and shovel hooks. These body shots start to take their toll on Hailee, so she stops pushing forward and goes to a defensive approach to see out the rest of the round. Not much action after that as Hailee’s defensive adjustments slow Anya down as well, still she wins the round and ties the score.

Rounds 5&6: They are starting to feel the effects of the very high tempo of the fight and the damage they have accumulated so far. The pace slows down and we are seeing less combinations being thrown in these middle rounds. Both fighters do a bit of active resting as they try to make sure that they will have enough gas in the tank for the later rounds. Things start to get more physical as the pace slows down though. They start to push and bump each other as well as getting into clinches from which they hit their opponents with body shots. The fifth and sixth rounds end up being very close calls with Hailee getting ahead again first with a narrow win and Anya catching her up in the sixth to tie the scorecards once again. They might not be the most exciting rounds, but the intensity is building up for what should be an exciting finish to crown the empress.

Round 7: As we are getting into the later rounds of this championship fight, both fighters are digging deep to find the energy and push their opponents to their limits. They both proved their skills so far and the similarity of their styles made it a closely contested fight. Now, it will be a matter of who wants that title more. They are not moving as well compared to the earlier rounds, but they are willing to exchange more again, so they settle with stand and trade.

They are going back to what has been working for them as Hailee lands a stiff one-two combination, while Anya answers with a lead uppercut to the abs followed by a hook to the ribs. They adjust their defenses to block or dodge the next couple of attempts and then Anya ducks under a jab to score with another hook to the ribs. She tries to do the same thing again, but Hailee only feints with the jab and instead lands a big uppercut to the chin as Anya ducks. ATJ is in trouble now as she stumbles back and tries to get her guard up in time, but Hailee lands a hook and Anya is wobbly. She manages to raise her guard up, but Hailee feints with a jab and then finds the opening to slip a stiff straight that lands right on the nose! Anya goes down on her back with a bloody nose! Hailee throws her arms in the air with excitement as she walks over to the neutral corner, while the referee begins the count! 1…2…3… Anya lies on her back as she checks her nose with her glove and sees the blood 4…5… she rolls over and gets on all fours 6…7…8… she musters her strength, plants one foot first and then gets up on her feet! The referee quickly checks up on her, wipes her gloves with a towel and then restarts the action! Hailee tries to finish her opponent off, but she is clearly frustrated and loses her discipline as she swings wildly. Anya is focused on survival though and she manages to avoid these wild punches to make it to the bell. Hailee wins the round wide and she came close to winning it all, but she needs to refocus now and that is what her coach is trying to do. On the other side, Anya gets patched up by her corner team as Gillian tries to motivate her for a comeback.

Round 8: Hailee tries to put pressure on her opponent right away, but this time she is not as reckless, having listened to her coach. Anya is on the defensive as it looks like she still hasn’t recovered fully from that knockdown. She is defending well however and getting out of the danger’s way, not letting her opponent get her in trouble again. She is also looking for counterattack opportunities. Hailee occasionally lands some single punches, but she eats a couple of body shots every time she overextends herself. She is showing signs of slowing down as it looks like she used too much energy trying to get a finish and the body shots she received are showing their effect too. Anya isn’t looking better either as blood trickles down her nose, making it hard to breathe, but she is still putting in the effort to stay in this fight and work her opponent’s body. Less action and more clinching in the final minute of the round as both fighters need a breather. Anya wins the round narrowly, but it might come in handy as she ties the score again with only two rounds left in this fight.

Round 9: Neither of them have much experience with longer fights and it shows at the start of the ninth round as it looks like their second wind has already come and gone. Their movement is sluggish in stark contrast to the fast and precise movement they had in the earlier rounds. It feels like only the promise of the title is keeping them going. After a few missed shots, they clinch, leaning on each other for support. The referee ends up having to separate them. They circle around each other slowly and then Hailee acts on instinct to step in with a big right hook. It turns out to be a mistake as Anya ducks under it and lands a crunching left hook to Hailee’s exposed ribs. Another hook to the ribs on the other side and Hailee’s guard drops. Anya with a lead uppercut to the chin, leaving her opponent completely defenseless and she steps in with a massive right hook to the chin that drops Hailee on the mat with a loud thud! Anya almost trips over her fallen opponent, but she manages to find her footing and then walks sluggishly to the neutral corner as the referee begins the count! 1…2…3… Hailee curls up in a fetal position as she moans 4…5… she slowly gets on all fours 6…7… she plants one foot and tries to muster up her strength 8…9… she tries to get up, but she wobbles and falls back on her knees, tears streaming down her face …10! She can’t get up in time. It is all over!

Official Result: Winner by KO in round 9 and the inaugural Empress of the Body Saddle, Anya Taylor-Joy!

Post-Fight: Anya pumps her fists as she shouts “yes!” with tears in her eyes. Tears of joy on one side and tears of disappointment on the other. Hailee is still on her knees as the medical team comes over to check her and her coach Julie comes over to consolidate her. She gets up and gets the thumbs up from the doctor, but she has a bleak look on her face as she knows what is coming. She goes down on all fours as she wants to get over with it as quickly as possible. On the other corner, Gillian hugs and congratulates her fighter for winning the title. Anya looks thrilled as she celebrates and she even seems to have forgotten that she needs to ride her opponent until her teammate Ana de Armas comes over with the body saddle.

As Ana and Gillian adjust the straps and make sure that the body saddle is securely placed on Hailee’s back, Anya takes the microphone to quickly address the fans. “I did it! I showed those bytches who is the boss around here! I’m their empress now and will keep breaking bullies by beating and riding them! But right now, let’s celebrate!” Seeing that her ride is ready, she quickly mounts Hailee and gives her a squeeze with her legs to start her victory lap around the ring. Interestingly, the ride doesn’t get personal at all as pushes herself to get done with it as soon as possible, while Anya seems too focused on celebrating her victory by waving to the fans as she rides around the ring, not caring about humiliating her opponent. Hailee collapses after one and a half laps and Anya seems content with her victory lap, so she quickly dismounts her and goes back to her team to continue celebrating with them. Looks like it will be a long night at the LMW camp.
