(Written by Girls Friday/Results by Lookout!)
Intro: Kendall Jenner has certainly had an interesting 2023. She has beaten her rival Alexis Ren just a few weeks ago after a long world tour together. She is back in America as now the next goal seems to be to reach the next milestone of 100 wins.
Amber Heard meanwhile is looking to get back on the winning trail as her record has taken a dip over the past few years. She was once seen as a potential world champion at one time in her life. The tough Texan needs to prove she still has the dog inside her to turn up for these major fights after losing to Eiza Gonzalez a few weeks ago.
Before the contest Kendall spoke to the media outside the Girls Friday gym as she was about to step inside wearing a black tracksuit jacket and bottoms with white stripes to match her shoes. She said after being asked about why she took this contest "simple, Amber is someone who has used my name for years but never accepted a fight. Now she needs to take any fight she can, now she comes crawling. She will be crawling on all fours after I beat her down." Stepping inside the gym as she seems more keen to get training then talking.
While Amber mostly kept to herself, maybe humiliated after her recent defeat. She did post on her social media the night before the contest "I am so ready to shut up Kendall. I heard her bullshyt a week ago. I can't wait to beat her up and show the world what a fake she is."
Fight Night! Kendall comes out onto the stage first as she walks down to the ring wearing a black sports bra with silver trim, matching trunks and shoes, silver gloves with black ace badges on each glove, hair tied into a ponytail. She taps her gloves before stepping into the ring as her coach Alessandra Ambrosio fires her up telling her to beat down Amber.
Who arrives on the stage wearing a white sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, hair is tied into a ponytail too as she walks down the aisle with a scowl on her face. Amber's coach massages her shoulders when she gets into the ring. Trying to keep her relaxed as they know the importance of this bout, what an upset could do for her career.
They are waved to the center of the ring, referee telling them the final instructions as both women stand with hands on their hips with eyes intensely locked. There is a quick swipe of gloves between them before they walk back to their corners. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of lightweight action.
Round 1: Out they come with Amber looking somewhat tense as the early pressure comes from Kendall, who normally used her jab to feel an opponent out, this time she is landing early two punch combos. Amber lands a few crisp body shots as she dips down. Kendall not looking too bothered as she rams home a double jab into the forehead of her opponent to push her back a step.
Amber starts to loosen up more to exchange with Kendall. Problem for the blonde beauty is that Kendall starts to open up more at range, keeping the smaller fighter on the back foot. A crisp jab/right cross combo slams into the face of Heard to knock her back a step to the delight of the Jenner fans.
Late in the round Heard comes on stronger after slipping a somewhat lax straight from Kendall. Drilling in two right hooks to the body before moving back out when cuffing shots land around her head. Amber landing several more flush punches as they exchange around the middle of the ring till the bell dings. Alessandra warning Kendall not to loosen her grip when she has control like that.
Round 2: Amber is being more aggressive to start the round, swinging in punches around the jugs of Kendall to throw her out of her rhythm. An overhand left crashes on the jaw of Kendall to send some sweat flying off. Kendall finding herself driven back to the ropes, where her body is worked over by Amber.
Pushing off Heard to create space. Kendall rams home a double jab into the forehead of her rival. Beginning to push back Amber now as she gets her momentum back. Crowd torn between these two beautiful women. Hooks come flying in from both as they are certainly warmed up now.
A mistake by Kendall as she throws a sweeping right hook that Amber easily sees. A counter left on the chin leaves Kendall open to a follow up uppercut. Kendall covering up as time ticks away in the round. Amber switch hitting up until the round ends. Amber taps her cheeks on the way back to her corner as she is fired up.
Round 3: Again Amber is looking to take the fight to Kendall, her success in the last round is fuelling her to push on with some nice crisp combos. Kendall meanwhile might be a little asleep at the wheel as she is being forced to retreat back. She doesn't seem to have quite her normal spring to her step. Amber catching her nicely with hooks to the body before being peppered to her face to ward her off.
Back comes Kendall after she lands a crisp double jab/straight combo into the face of her foe. Amber doesn't give up the ghost so easily as she dips under a right hook and catches Kendall with a sneaky uppercut to push her to her heels. Muscling the model back to the ropes as she works the body again.
The hard schedule she has had for months might be affecting Kendall as she isn't firing back a whole lot to keep off her opponent. Mostly covering up before nudging back Amber to land a nice crisp jab/straight combo to her face to show she has fight in her.
At the bell there's a few words exchanged as Amber makes it clear she isn't impressed by Kendall. Who scowls at her, Alessandra though is tending to agree with Amber as she isn't happy with her fighter.
Round 4: Stepping back out their corners, Kendall is looking to take the fight back to Amber. She gets caught coming in with several clean shots as she tries to find her timing again. Amber moving her upper body more to keep Kendall off her game as she lands several clean shots back into the face of the hall of famer. Showing the potential Amber once had here.
A double jab catches Kendall on her chest to push her back a step. Amber gets caught with a left hook to show her that Kendall ain't backing off just yet. They exchange punches around the middle of the ring as Kendall seems to be finding her rhythm. Amber though shuts it down by holding the right arm of Kendall and using short right digging punches.
Referee splits them up so they can fight on. Kendall slams a straight into the face of her foe to push her back a step. Kendall landing a follow up left/right hook combo to throw off Amber's balance as she stumbles back towards the ropes. The round ends before Kendall can uncork much and Amber gets a reminder of how dangerous Kendall can be.
Round 5: That late assault in the last round seems to have given Kendall some momentum as she comes out looking looser. Amber gets in a few solid shots before getting caught around her ear with a left hook to ward her off. A double jab then catches Heard square onto her nose to make her fight back a tear or two.
While Amber is having some success on the inside, Kendall is starting to push the pace now as she nudges her back to create space for stiff two punch combos. A left hook catches Amber on her chin to open her up to a right on her eye to make her cry out as she backs off.
Like her last fight, Amber's caught is starting to crumble as Kendall drills her through her guard to her face. The bottom lip of Amber is busted open as she tries to swing back. Kendall not showing any mercy as she pounds her face up until the bell dings. Kendall is asked "where has that been?" By Alessandra. Amber on the other hand winces as her lip is cleaned up.
Round 6: Kendall certainly seems to have woken up as she catches Amber early on with a right cross square into her face. A double jab further pushes Amber to her heels as she tries to land a meaningful punch from her back foot. AN UPPERCUT ROCKS AMBER'S HEAD BACK BEFORE A LEFT AND A RIGHT HOOK LAND TO SEND AMBER TUMBLING TO HER BACK!
Looking up at the lights, Amber's eyes look glassy. 1....2....3.... Kendall stands in the neutral corner looking marked up and furious. 4....5....6.... Amber on the other hand is not moving. 7....8... Just laying groaning. 9.....10 Amber is counted out!
Winner Kendall Jenner KO Round 6
After: Whether she was burnt out or not, Kendall wins this bout and decides to walk over to Amber to tell her "even at my best you can't touch me!" Grinding the heel of her right foot into the stomach of Amber to make the beaten woman groan.
Returning to her corner, Kendall is told in no uncertain terms that she can't put in a performance like that again and to expect to be classed as one of the best around. Kendall nods as she can't argue that point. With her stable mate Dua holding the title, she needs to keep herself in the title conversation for the day that Dua doesn't hold the belt anymore.
While Amber's comeback tour has only led to pain so far for her. Two back to back defeats under her new coaches isn't how she wanted things to go. It might be about rebuilding her confidence should be her first prior as she looks broken when helped over to her stool after being checked over.
Looking up at Kendall as the winner gets her right hand raised in victory by the referee, Amber shakes her head in disgust that she wasn't able to win this contest. She is helped out of the ring by her coach. She looks to be cursing under her breath as she heads to the backstage area.
Kendall on the other hand poses with her arms flexed and a cheeky wink for her supporters. She takes a breath and looks happy to have the month off before the next PPV. Though you have to expect that Kendall will be on the pay per view and might look to get herself on the Fight Night Live card in Madison Square Garden to move closer to that 100 wins target she has on. A feat not many women have achieved.
For now it's time to leave the ring with Alessandra, cheer on her stablemate in her title defence and put her feet up as before long it will be her birthday and Kendall looks excited for the future ahead of her. |
