Mikie Hara vs Asuka Kuramochi

Asuka Kuramochi and Mikie Hara had fought before once, ending with Mikie’s lights punched out by the end of round five, Asuka having taken her down with a spectacular liver shot. This greatly displeased Hara, who now stands in the ring with Kuramochi again, looking to even the score and prove to the world that she is still the Mikie that had once dominated the BBU Flyweight division. Mikie wears a white bikini, and Asuka wears a black one: the same attires worn in their first encounter.

Round one sees Asuka show Mikie just who’s boss now. Driving Mikie back into her own corner and crouching under a straight, Asuka comes over the top with a left hook. She then rams in a straight to the belly button to make her gasp. Mikie looks a little dishevelled, and the first round has barely begun. A thoroughly dominant performance by Asuka despite Mikie’s admirable defence. The round comes to an end with Mikie breathing harder as she returns to her corner.

Round two sees Mikie turn her opponent’s head with a hook early in the round, and the momentum gained from that carries her through, giving her the round by a wide margin. Could we be seeing her return to form? Perhaps, but Asuka trumps her right back in the third round, both rounds seeing the girls forgoing defence to beat the other senseless.

A match that is so focused on offence cannot last long, and the girls proved the truth of that in round four when Mikie got her wish after expertly dismantling Kuramochi throughout the round. In minute two, she slams her rival and fellow countrywoman in the liver, sending her down for the count of ten.

Winner via KO4 and poetic revenge: Mikie Hara!

Hamada looking displeased as her new prizefighter got dismantled by her old one in four rounds. Could it be that Mikie has found her feet again and has returned to form? Perhaps she has. Perhaps indeed.
