Maddie sniffs: “A lot of girls have said that about me and a lot of them found out the hard way I could and did beat them. I am going to show you just what “Mad Dog Maddie’ can do.”

“Yes, you will show me how you end up losing to little ol’ me,” Brec retorted.

“Big talk from a little shrimp doesn’t scare me,” Maddie said dismissively.

“I do more than talk—I back it up,” Brec assured her.

THE WINNER: BREC BASSINGER TKO7!

After: “I admit she was tough and I was giving up a lot in those 4 inches,: admits Bec Bassinger in the post-fight, “but I finally found a way to beat her. It was hard, but that makes the winning all the sweeter.”

Maddie Z not seeing the press until the next day: “I lost and that’s the hard fact of it. My trainers and I will analyze it, but I am not going to obsess over it. It was just one fight. What I want to do now is look ahead to my next fight and make sure this does not happen again!”

Good battle of young flyweights. Brec Bassinger able to find a way to beat a bigger opponent and that is important when you’re only 5’2 even in the flyweight division. Hopefully, this will give Brec something to build on in 2024 as well suspect she would love another chance to wear the Flyweight Title belt. Fight was, of course, a disappointment for Maddie Ziegler, but there is a good chance she can figure what she should have done better and apply it to future fights. Both these fighters seem to have bright futures in the FCBA and the fans look forward to seeing them return to action in the new year.
