Intro:
International clash as Britain's Dua Lipa takes on Italian Laura Pausini. Dua is hoping to get return to winning ways after losing the FCBA lightweight title a month ago. While Laura Pausini has not had a great time in the FCBA, going forty fights without a victory, can she finally find her BBU form and cause a major upset to finish her year off.

Both gave their thoughts about the fight. Dua was asked a few questions by Alicia Atout for the FCBA Network about the bout by video call. Dua sits on her sofa wearing a black hoodie with black joggers as she smiles warmly to the camera.

The main ones are about how she feels about losing her title. Dua answers "I can't say I enjoyed losing my title. Stana deserved the title and I am glad she holds it. Still now I need to take a look at myself and think how to improve."

She is then asked about Laura and her feelings about this bout. Dua admits "I didn't expect Laura to challenge me to be fair. I was thinking of maybe taking Christmas off and getting everything right but then Laura asked to fight me. Her record isn't exactly something to scream about, yet I can't take her lightly, she is a former national champion after all. So I will bring my best as I always do."

Laura meanwhile told her national press "Dua is a big star and a former champion. I respect her but to be frank, I think that she has that loss to Stana stuck on her mind. This is my chance to shut up my critics like Tess Valmore. Prove I am one of the best fighters internationally then just here in Italy."

Fight Night! First to come out is Dua with her coach Gisele Bundchen, she waves to the crowd with a smile. She looks relaxed as she climbs into the ring, wearing a red sports bra with black stripes down the sides, matching trunks, red shoes and gloves, her hair is tied into a ponytail. She bounces on her toes as she takes a breath to focus herself.

Laura now heads out with her coach Sabrina Salerno. Laura poses at the top of the aisle with her arms flexed with a smirk. She heads down the aisle wearing a baby blue sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, hair is in a ponytail. She climbs into the ring and taps her cheeks as she looks over at her opponent.

The fighters walk to the middle of the ring for the face off. Locking eyes as Laura shows that despite her record, she is not showing any fear for her foe. They bump gloves together before walking back to their corners. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of lightweight action.

Round 1:
Off they go with Laura looking to score early on with a few body shots. Dua doesn't look in the mood to play around as she plants her feet to throw punches back. Laura gets caught with a double jab on her nose before an uppercut to her chin looks to rock her back already as the time reaches thirty seconds.

Dua soon catches Laura with a right hook to her temple at the minute mark to turn her head. The Italian beauty looks a little shaky as her guard opens up, Dua smelling blood in the water rams home several clean shots to the face of her opponent. Laura tries to land a right hook, THE CRACK OF LEATHER RINGS OUT! UPPERCUT TO THE CHIN OF PAUSINI SENDS HER DOWN TO HER BACK WITH A THUD AS HER GUMSHIELD GOES FLYING!

We are near the two minutes mark as the count starts. Dua standing in the neutral corner with no hint of sweat on her. 1....2....3.....4... Laura has her eyes shut as Sabrina is telling her to get up, banging on the ring apron. 5....6....7... But Laura looks lost to the world right now. 8....9....10 she is in dream world as she is counted out!

Winner Dua Lipa KO Round 1

After:
Well Dua didn't exactly get much of a workout there. Certainly a professional performance by her as she doesn't celebrate much beyond raising her right arm above her head to acknowledge the loud cheers of the fans. She walks over to her corner to get a fist bump from Gisele, who smiles warmly at her as certainly no complaints from her on this one.

Laura on the other hand needs to be woken up with smelling salts. She lays on her back still looking groggy as Sabrina along with the ringside doctor check her over. Laura sits up slowly to a loud round of applause as the crowd is happy to see she doesn't look too seriously hurt after suffering a thunderous knockout blow.

Soon enough Pausini is helped out the ring. Dua looks concerned but is told by Gisele that she can check out Laura later. The beaten fighter meanwhile gets helped by two medics to walk to the backstage, getting taken to the medical area to make sure she is ok.

Afterwards Dua is waved to the middle of the ring to get her left hand raised in victory. She nods to the cameras but doesn't really celebrate. She knows this wasn't exactly a shock to most, maybe the speed of the bout ending night have been the lone surprise as Laura just doesn't seem able to do much in the FCBA.

The winner leaves the ring with Gisele, high fives for some of her fans at ringside as she smiles to them. Later on in the back before walking into the stables locker room, Dua tells cameras "I hope Laura is ok. I send my best wishes to her. This sport is brutal I know and I had to do what I needed to win this bout tonight. Hopefully I showed some ruthlessness that maybe I haven't before in my contests. Let's go into 2024 on a positive right." Nodding to the cameras before heading inside the room with Gisele.
