Intro:
We kick off tonight's action in San Antonio's Alamodome with a battle of two women hoping to get their first win in the Diamond Boxing Tournament. Raffaella Modugno lost to Hailey Clauson in the first round. While Elizabeth Turner felt the power of Ireland Baldwin. Who is getting their first win of the tournament?

As with each bout the fighters were asked to give their opinion on camera. Coming into a small room with white walls. Just a camera and stool is in the room.

First into the room comes to the stunning Italian fighter Raffaella. She is wearing a blue dress with matching heels. Sitting on the stool brushing her hair back. She says to the camera in her native language as subtitles show on screen "I am annoyed that I lost that first fight. Hailey isn't better then me. To lose twice to her is embarrassing for me. I get to fix that by beating up Elizabeth. I am not done in this tournament" a serious look on her face. Not saying anything else as she stands up. Leaving the room.

While Elizabeth walks into the room wearing a blue t-shirt and black denim jean shorts to match her trainers. She sits on the stool with a little grin. Telling the camera "god.. that first fight was annoying. I felt good till Ireland caught me out there. The bytch has power... I will give her that" nodding to herself.

She then says "but now it's Raffaella. I will forget my last result and be fully focused on you. Time to take the win and show why I deserve to be in this field" standing up with hands on her hips as she stares at the camera with a confident smile.

Fight night. Out of the locker rooms to the aisle first comes Raffaella with her coach to her right. She looks in a serious mood as she walks down the aisle with purpose. Stepping into the ring wearing a baby blue sports bra with gold trim, matching trunks and shoes, blue gloves with gold thumbs, hair tied into a ponytail. Raffaella taps her cheeks as she stares at the aisle waiting for her foe.

Elizabeth now heads out with her new coach/manager Natascha McElhone behind her. She bounces on her toes at the top of the aisle with her eyes on the ring. Then jogs down the aisle to the ring. She is wearing a white sports bra with navy blue trim, matching trunks and shoes, navy blue gloves and her hair in a ponytail too. She enters the ring with a smile. Looking cool as she taps her gloves together. Getting last second advice from her coach.

The referee brings the fighters to them at the center of the ring. The fighters give each other a hard look as the instructions are being read out to them. There's a quick fist bump by the fighters as they turn back towards their corners. Once everything is ready the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Raffaella starts off quickly as she goes to the toned body of Elizabeth. Who is forced to back up to the outside part of the ring. As Raffaella swings a left hook over the top though, Liz leaning out the way and moving into free space. Landing a double jab square into the face of the Italian beauty as it's a fast paced start to the round.

One that starts to suit Turner more. As the blonde pierces Raffaella's guard with two punch combos. Dancing on her toes around the older woman. With Raffaella landing a few crisp punches but most of her punches is simply finding thin air against the mobile model.

But before Elizabeth can get too comfortable. A straight lands in her chest, followed by a short left hook to the cheek. Raffaella moving inside to work with both trading on the inside. Elizabeth with the ropes near her back. The sound of leather whacking flesh can be heard clearly at ringside as both plant their feet. The round comes to an end with a cheer from the crowd. Both fighters sitting on their stools knowing a loss here could be curtains right away on winning this tournament.

Round 2:
Banging her gloves together before they resume. Raffaella looks dialed in to jab and strike with right hooks afterwards. Sticking her right into different targets. While Elizabeth matches her intensity early in the round, by the end of the opening minute she is taking some hard punches over the top to her cheeks.

A jab lands on the nose of Turner to snap her head back. Raffaella muscles her into a neutral corner. Where she looks to maul away at the tight abs of the American. Getting a few groans from her but Elizabeth grabs onto Raffaella in a tight clinch. Referee splits them up with the blonde back out into space.

Doubling up her jab into the face of Modugno. Elizabeth is boxing more off the back foot. Marking up the face of Raffaella. Who is trying to hunt her down as she again misses with several power punches. The round comes to an end with both women walking back to their corners with their coaches quick to wipe them down and give them advice. Seeing this could be a tough contest for both fighters.

Round 3:
Pushing back to their feet to engage again. Raffaella for the third time starts off strong. Getting inside to whack away at the ribs of her foe. Making her groan out as Liz gives up ground. A shove to the face of Raffaella slows her down as the blonde moves to a safe distance. Striking in a double jab to the nose of Modugno. Causing some blood to trickle from it.

Moving up on her toes and jabbing at the bloody nose of Raffaella. Elizabeth is doing a good job keeping her opponent at range. Till with half the time left to go in the round. Raffaella ducks a jab and comes inside to work after landing a straight into the chest of the younger woman. Forcing Turner back into the ropes. Elizabeth needing to clinch up to slow her down.

When they resume Elizabeth is back to throwing combinations at range. Raffaella looking pissed off that she hasn't been able to pin down Turner for long periods. Instead when the bell rings she wipes her nose to see the blood, looking furious about it. Elizabeth meanwhile sits getting her arms and legs massaged to keep them loose. Natascha looking pleased enough with her effort as they discuss how the fight is going.

Round 4:
Elizabeth starts off a little more quickly this time now she has a solid target in Raffaella's bloody nose to go at. Causing more claret to flow from her opponents nostrils. Elizabeth looks confident as she lands a three punch combo with her toes dug into the canvas. Snapping back the head of Raffaella.

Never question the toughness of Raffaella though. While the opening minute of the round didn't go smoothly. She ducks under a straight to use her left forearm to charge her opponent into the ropes. Where Raffaella swings in hard hooks as her forehead is under the chin of Liz. Understandably Liz doesn't look so comfortable getting whacked with clubbing blows around her torso. Needing to hold onto Modugno to force the referee to step in to pry them apart.

Back at it they go with Raffaella the one pushing the pace. Bashing in punches on the inside. Some redness forming around the torso of Turner as she finds herself backed up around the outside part of the ring. The round ending gives Elizabeth some respite as she walks back to her corner. Raffaella meanwhile looks annoyed as she grimaces from her nose is being patched up.

Round 5:
Resuming fighting around the center of the ring. Trading punches as Raffaella looks to get inside. She misses with a lunging straight, instead Elizabeth lands a counter right across her nose. Raffaella cries out as her eyes shut. THAT HURT HER AS RAFFAELLA STEPS BACK! A RIGHT HOOK TO THE CHIN TURNS HER HEAD WITH BLOOD AND SWEAT FLYING OFF! MODUGNO TAKES A RIGHT KNEE!

Elizabeth turns right away to jog to the neutral corner. Tapping her blood stained gloves together as she watches the count. 1...2....3....4... Raffaella wipes her nose of blood, fighting back tears as clearly it is troubling her now. 5...6.. Cursing in Italian. Raffaella looks simply pissed off to have taken a knee. 7...8.. Gamely she stands up, fists raised to show she wants to fight on.

The referee let's them fight with Raffaella looking to basically charge down her opponent. Liz sees it coming as she dodges the early swings from Raffaella. Landing a crisp jab into her forehead. THAT'S FOLLOWED BY A STRAIGHT INTO THE NOSE OF RAFFAELLA. WHO SCREAMS OUT AND TURNS HER BACK ON TURNER! THE REFEREE STEPS IN WAVING THE FIGHT OFF! TAKING THAT AS A SIGN OF QUITTING FROM MODUGNO!

Winner Elizabeth Turner TKO Round 5:

After:
That's the first win of the tournament for Elizabeth. Who jogs over to her corner so she can mount the bottom ropes. Arms in the air as she takes in the cheers and whistles from her fans. They along with Natascha are so happy to see her get on the board after a rough start to the tournament.

While Raffaella looks furious at the referee. Asking why they stopped the fight as her coach comes out to stop her getting into a full blown row with the referee, whether she likes it or not you can't simply turn your back on an opponent in that fashion, especially after you have taken a knee before that.

Raffaella is led back to her corner to get her nose worked on. Thankfully it isn't broken; though it will clearly be bugging her the next few days as any touch to it is making her wince. Raffaella now is down 0-2 in this tournament. Arguably she is out the running already unless results in other fights go her way and she can go unbeaten.

Instead for now once her nose is cleaned up. She steps out the ring with her coach. Towel with an ice in on her nose. Eyes still full of fury as I'd hate to be her next opponent. Pushing for at least a top three finish is still an achievement if Raffaella can get her winning run going.

Inside the ring Elizabeth is beaming as she blows a kiss to the cameras. Getting her right arm raised by the referee to make it official. While she lost her first fight in the tournament. It isn't curtains yet that she couldn't win it all. With Elizabeth leaving the ring with her corner crew. This new stable backing her might be what drives her finally to the heights that some predicted when she stepped into an FCBA ring.
