Intro:
It is main event time as we finish the third round of this year's Diamond Boxing Tournament with an interesting bout. Home state girl Elizabeth Turner (1-1) looks to send the Atalanta, Georgia fans home happy as she takes on Hailey Clauson (2-0), who is one of the fighters unbeaten in the tournament so far. Who leaves the Mercedes Benz Stadium with the important victory?

Before the bout both were asked to make a video for the FCBA Network in the build up. Elizabeth stood outside the statement wearing an Atlanta Falcons jersey, blue jeans and black heels. She is beaming as she says "I can't believe I get to fight here. The biggest night of my life and I get to have all my friends and family ringside, of course along with all you wonderful fans!"

She then puts her hands on her hips as she turns her attention to her opponent. She says "Hailey you are in for a hell of a ride. I finally have a stable backing me and already I am showing what I can do. I don't care what titles you hold or where you think you are in the pecking order. You are getting knocked out."

Then it's Hailey's turn as she sits at home on her bed. The two diamond encrusted title bras sitting either side of her. Hailey wearing pink lace bra and knickers. She says "as you all see I have conquered the JMDD division. I am the woman to beat when these are up for grabs." Waving her hands over her JMDD titles.

Pointing at herself with her right hand. Hailey continues "now it's time I won this tournament and go on to win the welterweight title. Too many times I have not been given the respect for what I can do, for years I was treated as an also ran. Now I am beating one opponent after another till I become the number one. You Elizabeth are going to be a footnote in my career."

Fight night. There's a loud roar as Elisabeth comes out. Her coach Natascha McElhone is behind her waving for the crowd to get even louder as both women are loving the reception. Elizabeth walks down the aisle wearing a red sports bra with black trim, matching trunks and shoes, her gloves are black, while her hair is in a ponytail. Getting into the ring, Turner does a lap inside the ring blowing kisses to the crowd before returning to her corner. Where she nods to her coach that she is focused on the task at hand.

Boos ring out as Hailey now arrives. If seems like she has become the hometown slayer in the tournament after having to fight Megan Thee Stallion in Texas last month. She walks down to the ring with Henry Cavill. Stepping inside the ropes to get into the ring, Hailey is wearing a white sports bra with matching trunks and shoes, hair in a ponytail as she has on gold coloured gloves. She looks purely focused on her opponent as she bounces on her toes in her corner with eyes on her.

The referee brings the fighters to the center of the ring. Elizabeth smirking as the crowd chant "let's go Turner!" To show where their support firmly is. Hailey meanwhile just looks over Elizabeth as if not caring about anything more then beating her down. They swiftly touch gloves before jogging to their corners. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
"Ding!" There's a few touches of gloves as they try to find their range, exchanging stiff single punches when they find it. Hailey looking to land in some hooks but Liz steps back and lands a jab/straight combo into her face. Hard fought exchanges as they circle around the center. Hailey wanting to up the tempo up a notch but Turner is spoiling her rhthym with two punch combos.

A missed right hook by Clauson opens her up to a left cross on her cheek, a straight follows to knock her back onto her heels as Elizabeth steps after her. Elizabeth keeping the pressure on Hailey as she switches up her targets. Hailey firing only single punches back in return as she moves to try to keep off the ropes.

If Hailey hoped for a blood and thunder affair in the opening round, well Elizabeth is stopping her with pin point punches. A double jab into the chest of Hailey opens her up to a right hook to the jaw of the Sirens fighter. The round soon comes to a close with Clauson on the ropes. Turner looking good at the start of this bout as she nods to her corner. Hailey looking to the heavens taking a breath to keep her cool.

Round 2:
Out they come again with Hailey stepping to thrust in with her punches now. Looking to land something to knock Elizabeth off her base now. With Turner being knocked back by a straight into her chin. Hailey pushing her back to the ropes where now she can work the body of her opponent, spitefully digging into the jugs of Elizabeth to make her grit her mouthpiece.

Pushing off Hailey so she can get into space, Liz catches her coming in with a stiff jab to her nose. Moving away from Hailey as she looks to get back in her rhthym. Hailey tapping her gloves together annoyed at herself for letting her foe off the hook there. Boxing around the center of the ring as the crowd is firmly behind their girl to hammer back Hailey.

But a left cross catches Elizabeth to her jaw. Hailey's eyes lighting up as she pumps in a jab/straight to the face of her rival. Driving back Turner into a neutral corner, where she looks to stretch her elbows to send in power punches, Elizabeth shelling up as boos ring out. The round soon comes to an end with Clauson jogging back to her corner, getting a fist bump from Henry before she sits on her stool.

Round 3:
Crowd chanting for their girl louder to fire her up. Elizabeth responding by doubling up her jab into the face of her opponent. Moving to her left side to keep away from the big right hand of Hailey, who is being more patient as she walks down Elizabeth but just can't land her big right hand with the regularly as she would like.

A jab catches Elizabeth to the chest. An overhand right slamming into the cheek of the local girl to turn her head. Hailey pounding her back towards the ropes as she slings in straight shots. Turner grabbing onto her to clinch up with Clauson. Both grinding bodies as Hailey looks to press her against the ropes. The referee breaking them up.

Elizabeth digging in combos to the face of her opponent, each hit gets a cheer from the crowd as they know that their girl is in with a tough opponent. Hailey slamming a few hooks into the jugs of Elizabeth as she tries to knock her out her rhthym. It isn't working that well as a jab/straight into the face of Hailey to knock her head back. The round comes to an end with Elizabeth nodding to the fans to thank them for their rousing cheers.

Round 4:
Resuming around the center of the ring with Turner landing crisp jabs to start, sticking to her tactics of keeping to Hailey's left side. Hailey though times her attack as she feints and then swings in a sweeping left hook that turns Turner's head as she stumbles a step to the left.

An overhand right clocks Elizabeth to the side of her head. That looks to have rung her bell as Hailey bullies back Elizabeth into a neutral corner. Elizabeth pulling Hailey into a clinch to stop her momentum. Elizabeth blinking hard to clear her vision. The referee gets up to them to break them up.

Resuming with Elizabeth trying bro work on the defensive. Hailey stalking after her with her jab hammering into the chest of Elizabeth as she is being patient, not rushing in to get caught. The round soon comes to an end with a dominant display by Clauson, showing why she is such a dangerous fighter in this whole tournament.

Round 5:
Stepping back out with Turner looking a little in her shell. Not what you want to see if you are a fan of hers, with Hailey getting in closer to trade with her. Forcing Elizabeth to come out that guard to exchange or she will be overrun by the Sirens fighter. With an uppercut knocking back Turner as Clauson digging her toes into the canvas.

Driving back Elizabeth as the crowd try to fire up their girl, watching her being pushed to the chest with the left of Hailey, who is pounding with her right hook till she gets wrapped up in a clinch. The referee breaking the clinch up with Elizabeth getting into space to work.

Drilling in jabs around the cheeks of Hailey as she moves more side to side. Hailey looking relaxed even as she hasn't the success at this moment like the had before. Turner landing a few stiff shots to the face of her opponent to make her cheeks redden up. The bell rings to end the round with Turner nodding to herself as she returns to her corner, knowing she needs to do better as the crowd are not as loud as they have been.

Round 6:
Hailey stepping out looking to step up the tempo to not let Elizabeth get a breath, she swings in a few stiff body shots as Elizabeth bounces on her toes around the parameter. Hailey steps in with a left hook that just misses, a counter right slams into the side of Hailey's head to rock her back a step, a left hook then smacks around the chin of Clauson to knock her back to her heels.

The crowd is roaring as they see Turner bully back Clauson under a barrage of punches to her face. Hailey desperately grabs onto her to stop the assault she is under. The referee steps in as they are landing rabbit punches behind heads, showing how desperate they are to win this as they lock eyes.

They resume with a straight to the face of Hailey knocking her head back. Suddenly she is looking a little vulnerable as she is getting picked off by Elizabeth now. With the crowd roaring for her as there's a mouse under the left eye of Clauson. The bell rings to Elizabeth raising her arms in the air to show the fans she is in this fight till the end. Hailey shaking her head as she is maybe wondering where that round came from for her opponent.

Round 7:
Both women come out not as much movement early as they exchange stiff punches from range. Hailey misses when she steps in with a straight, getting caught with a counter left onto her jaw to turn her head. Elizabeth turning up the heat as she clubs in a right cross to the face of her opponent to knock her back two steps. LEFT HOOK TO THE JAW SOON SENDS HAILEY DOWN ONTO HER BACK!

The crowd are electric as Elizabeth heads to the neutral corner with a beaming smile. 1...2...3.. Hailey turns to her front shaking her head to get rid of the cobwebs. 4...5...6... Moving to the ropes on all fours. 7...8.. Pulling herself up using the ropes, Hailey raises her gloves to show she wants to fight on as Henry breaths a sigh of relief.

The referee let's them fight on with Turner hoping to send the crowd home happy as she comes after her opponent. Hailey standing her ground with a firm jab, wisely she also holds onto Elizabeth when she gets the chance to help her recover with some booing her stalling tactics.

The round soon comes to an end with Elizabeth raising her arms in the air again. The atmosphere around the stadium is buzzing as she walks back to her corner. Hailey getting patched up as she takes a moment to clear her head, telling Henry she will be ok as she pounds her gloves together.

Round 8:
Understandably Elizabeth seems to have a little extra pep to her step as she comes out looking to take the fight to her opponent, problem is Hailey seems ok now. Leading to a missed jab from Elizabeth as Hailey ducks under, a left handed uppercut smacks Elizabeth on her jaw to rattle her head backwards. AN OVERHAND RIGHT THEN CLOCKS LIZ ON HEE CHIN! DOWN GOES TURNER AFTER JUST THIRTY SECONDS OF THE ROUND ONTO HER BACK!

Boos rain down on the ring as Hailey raises her arms in the air, staring angrily at Turner before she walks over to the neutral corner. 1...2... The crowd turn to urging their local hero to stand. 3...4...5... Slowly Elizabeth starts to turn to her front. 6....7.. Her eyes look gazed over as she reaches for the ropes. 8... But they are too far away from her. 9...10 that's it for this bout!

Winner Hailey Clauson KO Round 8

After:
What a dramatic fight! Hailey comes back from being downed to score the victory, once again doing so in hostile territory. At least this time she has more silenced the crowd then the loud boos she got in her last round fight in Texas. She walks back to her corner looking relieved as she gets a warm embrace from Henry.

Elizabeth meanwhile puts her forehead on the canvas and can be seen shedding tears, this was such a big moment for her, failing wasn't an option for her in her mind. Natasha comes over to help her fighter. The crowd applaud their heroes effort tonight as she nods her thanks to them, even as her legs are still like jelly.

Sitting on her stool. Elizabeth is being told by Natasha "I know this hurts but you pushed Hailey all the way. This is why we signed you, with more fights you will surpass Hailey and all these welterweights to be the best." That makes Turner smile a little as she wipes her tears away with the back of her right hand now her gloves are off.

Hailey meanwhile has her eyes shut as she sees on her stool. A little too close for comfort for her as she takes in a few deep breaths to slow her heart rate as she has to be buzzing from scoring the win. Henry helping to clean her up as he tells her "just one more step to victory tonight, you can't lose focus as we head to the title ok?" Hailey nodding as she opens her eyes with a smile.

Soon enough the fighters both come to the center of the ring. Elizabeth gets a loud roar when the announcer says for them to show their support, Hailey even gives her a little applause. The hand shake between them is tense though, showing they won't be best friends after this bout. Hailey gets her right hand raised in victory to applause from the crowd.

Elizabeth leaves the ring with her coach. Giving out high fives to some in the front row of the crowd before giving a hug to family members. While defeat of course hinders her chance of winning this tournament, tonight could very well be the start of where she can build from as she showed grit, her skills and good power that might lead her to gold somewhere down the road.

In the ring Hailey poses with Henry as both flex their arms with cheeky grins. Hailey blowing a kiss to her fans before she climbs out the ring to go to the locker room. If she maybe took heart from seeing Amy Willerton have a drama filled fight, this bout might have refocused Hailey on the marathon task ahead of her. Only two fighters remain undefeated in the tournament but will anyone this year remain unbeaten by the end?
