Intro:
We kick off the third round of this year's Diamond Boxing Tournament with Raffaella Modugno (0-2) wanting to get her first win within the event. Things are not getting easier for her as she takes on Iskra Lawrence (1-1), who will be wanting to not lose pace on the top fighters.

Here in Atlanta the fighters the day before the bouts gave their thoughts to the camera. This time around they have sent the videos in to change things up a little. With Raffaella sitting on a bed in her hotel room, Raffaella is wearing a white fluffy dressing gown.

"I am not here to make up the numbers. F**k I am frustrated about this, I should be on top. So Iskra you pig... I am going to use you as my punch bag and remind people why I am one of the best" Says Raffaella with an annoyed look. Not saying much as she stands up to switch the camera off.

Iskra on the other hand does her video while jogging. Rubbing her hands as she smiles at the camera being held by her friend. Iskra says "things have went south the past few months but I know I can win this tournament. I am the most dangerous fighter in all this tournament." Flexing her arms as people jog past looking at her.

Stepping up to the camera as she points at the camera. Iskra says "Raffaella you are going to be beaten down. You made a mistake entering this tournament." Blowing a kiss to the camera. Jogging away with her girl friend yelling "you got this!"

Fight night in the Mercedes Benz Stadium. Raffaella is the first to walk down the aisle. Her coach tapping her on the back before she jogs up the ring steps. Raffaella wearing a navy blue sports bra with matching trunks, shoes and gloves, her hair is braided as taps the turnbuckles of her corner. Looking fired up tonight.

Iskra comes out to the aisle with a smile. She taps her black gloves together as she walks to the ring. She climbs into the ring wearing a pink sports bra, matching trunks and shoes, hair is tied into a ponytail as she taps her cheeks to get herself into the right mindset.

The referee brings the fighters to the center of the ring. Both fighters look each other over to look for weaknesses. They do touch gloves before walking back to their corners. Eyes firmly locked across the ring as this is important for both women to win to get some momentum. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Out both fighters come with eyes firmly locked behind their gloves, trading stiff jabs till Iskra steps in closer to give Raffaella a taste of her power with a short left hook to her cheek. The Italian beauty stepping back trying to keep the distance where she clearly thinks is safe for her with a double jab drilling into the cheeks of Iskra. Neither wanting to make mistakes this early on it seems.

Iskra looks to be the one to push the pace up a notch as she steps in with a straight to the chest of her opponent, she gets caught with a short left hook onto her jaw. A straight then slams into the nose of Iskra to make her back off. Raffaella punishing her for opening up as she moves on the front foot with a follow up jab/straight combo into the face of Lawrence.

The blonde stunner is forced onto the outside of the ring. Raffaella punishing Iskra with hooks around her guard to hit her flanks, before Raffaella can feel too comfortable though she is hit with a right cross by Iskra. Who pushes off the ropes to work on the inside, both exchanging in the dying moments as Raffaella trying to show she won't be bullied back by her rival hard hitter. The round comes to an end with both stepping apart with a hard look for their opponent. The Italian Better Boxing crew looking happy enough with their girls starting effort. Knowing she has to be as careful as her opponent does for those power shots.

Round 2:
Both land pounding jabs to start with Iskra looking to close the distance more quickly on her. Exchanging on the inside as Iskra gets into the grill of her opponent, digging away at her abs to make Modugno grunt with each clean hit. Pushing Iskra back so she can create some space, Raffaella landing a jab/straight combo into the face of Lawrence.

After a hard fought opening minute of both jousting for position. A straight lands on the nose of Raffaella to push her back a step, a left/right hook combo follows to turn Raffaella's head. Iskra powering back her foe to the ropes, where she lands clubbing shots to the sides of Raffaella's body. Forcing Raffaella to clinch up with her to stop her. Iskra hissing into the face of Modugno as the referee steps in to drag them apart.

The fighters trade again but Raffaella is giving up ground to Iskra, who is walking down the older fighter. Raffaella focused more on being defensive to not get caught by a big looping hook or an uppercut. The round ends with Iskra tapping her chest as she walks back to her corner as her supporters cheer her.

Round 3:
Back out they come with both fencing with jabs as they look determined not to drop this fight. Raffaella lands a crisp left cross onto the cheek of Iskra. She gets caught with return with an uppercut that spooks her as she backs off.. Iskra landing a short left hook as she steps in closer to turn the head of the older fighter.

Raffaella again soon finding herself pushed to a neutral corner. Where Iskra is looking to land hooks to break up the Italian. Who grabs hold of her right arm, landing short lefts into the face of Iskra. The referee breaks them up as she warns Raffaella to keep it clean. They resume with Raffaella wanting to get her rhythm going again to keep off her opponent.

But again with less the forty seconds to go, Iskra forces Raffaella onto the ropes. Iskra pounding away at the body of Raffaella before trying to land uppercuts. Raffaella holding onto her in a tight clinch. Both digging punches into each others kidneys before the bell rings to end proceedings. Pushed apart by the referee as there is a few heated words before they jog back to their stools. Iskra starting to show why she is such a fearsome fighter that others need to worry about. Raffaella though not looking too worried yet as she has red marks forming on her body.

Round 4:
Coming back out to resume. Raffaella needing to find a way to get back at Iskra, with Iskra looking relaxed as she throws in hooks. Problem for Iskra is that she is open to a straight onto her nose. Missing with a left hook in return as Raffaella leans out the way. Pounding a jab into the forehead of the blonde.

Iskra getting caught more as she tries to step in with her own punches. A short right onto her nose causes blood to start running from the nostrils of Iskra. Raffaella starting to punch with more venomous intentions now as she senses she can hurt her foe. Iskra still looking dangerous with her own hooks but that bloody nose is a bullseye for Modugno.

Keeping Lawrence on the outside, Raffaella is looking in the zone as she pounds in combos. Iskra throwing back but being outworked. The round soon enough comes to an end with Raffaella raising her blood stained gloves in the air to show the fans. Iskra getting her nose patched up as she stares angrily at her opponent from her stool.

Round 5:
Stepping back out to resume with Iskra wanting to bring the fight back to Raffaella. Who is doubling up her jab to try to keep Iskra on the outside. Both women slugging it out at times when Iskra can close the distance, a right shoulder bumps back Modugno towards the ropes, with a left hook landing on the cheek of the veteran.

Trying to keep Raffaella on the ropes. Iskra doesn't see the uppercut coming onto her chin, that knocks back the head of Iskra to open her up to a left hook onto her nose to cause it to start bleeding again. Raffaella moving off the ropes as Iskra scowling as she comes after her opponent.

A missed right hook by Iskra leaves her open to a counter left on her right eye. A straight on that bloody nose again makes Iskra cry out. SHE DOESN'T SEE THE RIGHT HOOK THAT LANDS ONTO HER TEMPLE TO SEND ISKRA TUMBLING TO HER RIGHT KNEE WITH HER RIGHT GLOVE TOUCHING THE CANVAS!

Raffaella walks to the neutral corner with her hands gripping the top ropes either side of her. 1....2... Iskra tries to push to her feet. 3...4... But she has jelly legs! Falling back to her knees after a drunken looking stumble. 5...6...7.. Iskra blinks to clear her head as her coach yells at her to get up. 8....9....10 she doesn't beat the count!

Winner Raffaella Modugno KO Round 5

After:
Raffaella understandably looks relieved as she gets her first win in the tournament. Getting off the mark after two hard fights. She returns to her corner to an embrace from her coach, who tells her this is just the beginning as clearly they see her still being a big factor in this tournament.

While Iskra needs help to be led over to her stool on her corner. She comes back to full reality from being badly buzzed, gloves taken off her soon enough. Iskra now has probably lost her dark horse tag to win it all. Losing two tournament fights in a row now will push her below Raffaella at the least when the next ranking table comes out.

After getting her nose cleaned up with tissue paper placed up her nostrils. Iskra leaves the ring with her coach helping her. She looks dejected as stares at the floor. They would have maybe marked this down as a bout she could win, so any defeat like this is going to sting badly.

While Raffaella is in a much better mood as she goes to the center of the ring to get her left arm raised in victory by the referee. She poses hands on her hips for the cameras with a intense stare. Showing her future opponents that she is not going to be simply bullied out the way.

Leaving the ring with her coach beside her. Raffaella arguably now has an easier group of fights after a tough starting set. Could she go undefeated now? She will hope so of course as Raffaella is as determined as ever that she will be the first FCBA champion for her stable.
