Intro:
Now our third bout of this round of Diamond Boxing Tournament action sees Daphne Groeneveld (0-4) return home to Holland. She steps into the Johan Cruijff Stadium in Amsterdam hoping to get her first ever win in celebrity female boxing. Across the ring is the Italian stunner Raffaella Modugno (1-3) hoping to improve her record within the tournament. Can Daphne break the seemingly curse in the tournament of home town girls being beaten?

Heading into this contest, both women gave their thoughts on video. Raffaella does her video at her hotel, sitting at the bar wearing a light blue dress with matching heels. Raffaella says in Italian as subtitles are added "I am happy to be in Holland, though I am not so pleased to face Daphne, so far she has wasted everyone's time and I don't want to upset the crowd, but Daphne isn't going to beat me." Taking a drink from the bar.

Daphne meanwhile stands outside the stadium wearing an Ajax football shirt, blue jeans and black heels. She smiles as she says "this is the perfect place for me to get my first win. I am sorry to my fans that I have failed to achieve a win before now but let's be frank, this is time for me to show all my hard work is worth it."

Flexing her arms as she looks a little more serious. Daphne says "oh and to Raffaella. You might think you are going to humiliate me but I am so ready for you. I'll send you back to Italy crying." Winking as she looks relaxed. The defeats she has suffered don't seem to have ruined her yet.

Fight night, first to boos comes Raffaella with her coach to her right side. Raffaella has an icy cold expression on her gorgeous face as she walks down the aisle. Wearing a light blue sports bra with white stripes down the sides, matching trunks and shoes, white gloves, as her hair is tied into a braid. She gets into the ring bouncing on her toes trying to block out the crowd noise.

The crowd noise turns to loud cheers as here comes Daphne. She is beaming as she waves to the crowd at the top of the aisle. Her demeanor changes as she nears the ring with her coach, seeing her opponent inside the ring. Daphne steps inside the ring wearing an orange sports bra with black trim, matching trunks and shoes, orange gloves, with her hair tied into a ponytail. She kisses her gloves before smirking at Raffaella, looking confident that tonight is where she finally breaks her duck.

The fighters head to the center of the ring for the final instructions. A loud "let's go Daphne!" In Dutch chant breaks out. Raffaella snorts as clearly she thinks they are wasting their time. There's a quick swipe of gloves between the boxers before they walk to their corners. Once everything is ready the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Off they go with Daphne showing her hand early as she doubles up her jab, looking to stick and move as Raffaella stalks after her. Both women hitting as much each others arms as well as the actual targets they have in mind as they box around the middle of the ring.

After a solid opening minute for the local girl. Daphne gets clipped by a left hook, the follow up straight smacks into her face as she is forced to take a step back. Raffaella moves in closer and looks to be digging her toes into the canvas as she lets her hands go. Smacking back Groeneveld to loud boos.

Daphne looks to push off Raffaella so she can find space to work in. Problem for Daphne is that Raffaella is keeping on the front foot with punches drilling through her guard. Daphne trying to match her opponents intensity on the inside but Raffaella looks the stronger fighter. The round ends with Modugno showing that the hostile atmosphere isn't bothering her one bit as she simply stares at her foe from her stool.

Round 2:
Daphne nods to her coach before she pushes off her stool to resume. She is moving more to not be an easy target for Raffaella. Who isn't quite as quick on her feet as her opponent. Daphne starting to mark up the cheeks of the Italian to the delight of her fans.

Soon Raffaella gets an opening to whack away at the torso of Daphne. Moving in to work as Raffaella looks to have the bit between her teeth. Daphne needing to clinch up to force the referee to step in to split them up. Daphne happy when she has space to move and work in as she is able to land two punch combos on the outside.

The crowd firmly behind Groeneveld as she gets them some flashes of brilliance to step in to land three punch combos, then stepping back when the heat comes her way. Soon the bell rings with Daphne smiling as she returns to her corner. Raffaella doesn't react as she tries to keep her cool.

Round 3:
Raffaella is stepping in more with her punches. Trying to force the issue as Daphne is wanting to keep in open space. A bit of cat and mouse forming as the mouse is popping the cat on the nose in this situation. Raffaella looking a little annoyed as Daphne is getting loud cheers each time she lands a punch.

After the opening minute of the round. Raffaella shows her experience as she cuts off the ring. Slamming in a straight to the forehead of Groeneveld. A left/right hook combo then slams into the face of Daphne to turn her head. Boos returning as their girl is being herded into a corner, where Raffaella digs in a few solid punches landing into the belly button of the Dutch fighter to make her hiss out.

Roughing up the local girl. Each time Daphne tries to grab onto Raffaella, she is getting pushed back by the left of the veteran, who is slamming in her punches into her face. Causing a redness to form around the face of Groeneveld. The round ends with Raffaella reaffirming her control of the action. It's Daphne looking somewhat nervous as she returns to her stool.

Round 4:
Daphne trying to get her rhythm going as she dances side to side. Raffaella still walking forwards trying to force the issue. There's a left hook that just misses from Modugno. With a counter right catching the Italian across the face. Daphne now going more on the attack as she sees her chance.

Raffaella finding herself now covering more as Daphne looks to step up a gear. Raffaella throwing some stiff single punches in return to try to make Daphne know she is still there. Daphne is the one though pushing the action. Drilling her punches into the chest of Raffaella when she can't land clean through the guard of her foe.

Late in the round Raffaella leans out the way of a left cross, she comes back with a straight that lands square into the nose of Daphne. A left hook lands around it to cause blood to trickle from the nostrils of the Dutch fighter. Retreating back away from Raffaella, the momentum has switched back over as Raffaella is on the attack now. The round soon comes to an end with Daphne wiping blood from her nose as she returns to her corner. Raffaella takes a breath before she sits down to get wiped down.

Round 5:
Out they come with Raffaella quick to catch Daphne on her nose to cause it to start running again. Daphne looking less sure as she isn't firing many punches out. A straight snaps back the head of her opponent, Raffaella follows with a left hook on the temple of Daphne to rock her.

The power of Raffaella starting to really show itself as Daphne is eating more punches then she'd like. Daphne looks to grab hold of Raffaella to slow her down. INSTEAD AN UPPERCUT LANDS FLUSH ON HER CHIN! DAPHNE CRUMBLES TO HER FRONT ON THE CANVAS!

Boos rain down as Raffaella puts her arms out at her side staring down at Daphne before walking to the neutral corner. 1....2....3....4... Daphne isn't moving beyond rolling her head so her left cheek is on the canvas. 5....6....7... Daphne's gumshield hangs out her mouth. 8....9....10 it's over for Groeneveld! She is counted out!

Winner Raffaella Modugno KO Round 5

After:
Raffaella gets the important win as the home town curse continues in the Diamond Boxing Tournament this year. Raffaella doesn't celebrate too much as she jogs over to her corner, getting a hug from her coach as they tell her what a wonderful job she did. Not letting the occasion get to her.

All the while Daphne is checked over by her coach and the ringside doctor. She is soon helped up over to her stool with a glassy eyed look. The doctor checking her over but soon asking for her to be helped the ring to the backstage area. Daphne tearing up as this was supposed to be the dream night for, instead it has become a nightmare as she is heading to the medical room.

In the ring Raffaella nod without her gloves heads to the center of the ring. Raffaella gets her left hand raised by the referee to a few boos. She smirks before she blows a kiss to the camera, most likely to her fans back in Italy.

Raffaella soon steps out the ring so she can head off to the locker room. It hasn't been a wonderful a tournament for her so far but now she has her second win. If she can win her last two bouts then it won't feel so bad.
