Next up we have two women from opposite sides of the world, both though have a link to where the fight is taking place. Beijing's Wukesong Arena sees China's star Ziyi Zhang take on the Chinese heritage American born Lucy Liu. Some have dubbed this the biggest Asian female stars fighting to be dubbed the ultimate boxing star.

Heading into the contest Ziyi Zhang told local media as she sat wearing a red dress with matching heels "I can not wait to fight Lucy. We have discussed this bout for several years, especially in what many would see as our primes but schedules got in the way. Finally we get to settle which of us is the better fighter, I aim to leave no doubts it is me."

Lucy on the other hand wore a black dress and heels as she spoke on the FCBA Networks primetime show she hosts. Looking into the camera with a beaming smile, she says "as you all know now I am going to China to fight. My family will be happy that I get to fight there but all I can think of is fighting Ziyi. We both have been compared to each other in some shape or form for nearly three decades, this fight should have happened years ago, here we are, finally to settle the score."

Lucy then sits forwards as she takes a breath, looking hard into the camera as her demeanor changes, she says "I know you are not my biggest fan Ziyi whether you admit it in public or not. I got the push what you didn't, honestly you should have been given a lot more chances in the ring but because you were in Asia and I was in America, I was the lucky one that way. Still I would have wiped the floor with you when we were younger and now we have the cougar division, I am going to knock you out and stop any hope you have of ever winning that title will end thanks to me." Showing the cruel side Lucy hides behind her smile that made her a hall of famer.

Fight Night! First out comes Ziyi with her coach. She taps her gloves as she walks down the aisle wearing a red sports bra, red trunks with gold stripes down the sides, red gloves and boots, her hair is in a ponytail. She climbs into the ring to a loud cheer from her supporters, she nods to the crowd but looks focus on this bout.

Lucy now comes out with her coach behind her. She is staring hard at the ring as this is important to her. Show the people of her family's country what she is made of. She steps inside the ring wearing a white sports bra, white trunks with red stripes down the side, matching shoes and red gloves, hair tied into a ponytail too. Lucy stands hands on her hips as she stares hard across the ring at her foe, trying to intimidate her.

The fighters walk to the middle of the ring. The referee going through their instructions as both women exchange a few threats about how they are going to knock their rival out, showing that these two certainly are not friends. There is a quick fist bump between them before they walk back to their corners. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:
Ziyi starts off strong as she looks to dominate the legend. Several two punch combos slicing through the guard of Lucy to land on her forehead. After thirty seconds Lucy dips under a straight to sneak inside to pound in several body shots before being nudged back, showing she won't let Ziyi have such an easy time.

Both women exchange at midrange as Lucy looks to close up on Ziyi to land some meaty shots around her torso. A double jab catches Lucy after she gets caught out taking a left hook swing to the body of her opponent that finds thin air. Ziyi landing a follow up right hook to twist the head of the former Champion.

Now Lucy is being pressed around the outside part of the ring. Ziyi has the older fighter covering up more as she looks very keen to make a statement here. A few punches do come back at Zhang, especially ones around her chest seem to be knocking her out her rhthym for a moment. The round ends with no doubts to many that Ziyi wants this important victory to her record.

Round 2:
Needing to move more around the left side of her opponent. Lucy isn't letting Ziyi charge her two rounds in a row. A few pivots from the legend throw Ziyi off as she misses with her own punches and gets clocked with hooks over the top onto her ears to make her back off.

Ziyi finds herself backed into a corner when Lucy goes on a full front assault. Targeting the body of Zhang with piston like shots to the body and chest. Ziyi pushes her off and lands a crisp jab/straight into the face of Lucy to make her back off. The younger woman getting back into space where she can work.

It gets a little more scruffy with several exchanges taking place in close range. Ziyi landing a few cuffing shots around the ears of Lucy. Who grabs hold of her and tries to pin her back to the ropes. The referee breaks them up just as the bell rings. Lucy giving Ziyi a taste of what made her one of the first hall of famers in the FCBA.

Round 3:
Again Lucy shows elusiveness early on to dodge and strike at Ziyi. Who looks frustrated and starts to swing more, only glancing her target when she does that. Lucy on the other hand is landing several flush punches into the chest and the lips of Zhang to make her back up to the outside part of the ring.

Lucy can't get too comfortable as she gets caught with a few left hooks as she doesn't quite have the same reactions she used to. Ziyi managed to fight her way back into the center of the ring, where the fighters go toe to toe. The crowd on its feet cheering their favourite fighter on as leather cracks on skin.

The experience of Lucy shows again in these high level circumstances as she dips under a right cross, using her left shoulder to bump back Ziyi before landing an overhand right to her chin. Ziyi covers up with under thirty seconds to go as she is driven back into the ropes. Where Lucy goes back to hooking the body of the younger woman to sap her energy till the round ends. Lucy getting a loud cheer from her fans, while Ziyi shakes her head as she returns to her corner. Ziyi is told to take a deep breath and refocus herself.

Round 4:
The game plan change in the Ziyi camp seems to work as she starts to use feints along with being happy to take a step back to keep the range at her behest. Lucy manages a few cuffing shots around the torso of Ziyi. She is also getting smacked more cleanly in return to her face to make her take a step back to reset herself as Ziyi looks back to form.

That's not of course to say Liu isn't having success as she ducks down to step inside to land more of her hooks to the body. There's a redness forming on each side of the body of Zhang. The Chinese fighter though uses her left to create space before banging in short hooks to the face of Lucy to make her back off.

Late in the round Lucy gets caught trying to step in with a straight. Ziyi steps to the left side and buries a short left hook into the breadbasket of Lucy. Causing the former champion to bend slightly as she gasps. A right lands square into Lucy's temple to make her go back a step as Ziyi starts to unload on her. The bell rings to possibly save Lucy from being knocked down. With Lucy taking in some deep breaths to get her breathing back under control.

Round 5:
It's clear that Ziyi smells blood in the water as she steps back out to engage Lucy. With the Hollywood legend not bending as much as her body is still clearly sore. A straight opens her guard up before a left hook crashes onto the temple of Lucy to send her backwards. A RIGHT HOOK LANDS FLUSH ON THE CHIN OF LUCY TO SEND HER MOUTHPIECE FLYING OUT HER MOUTH BEFORE SHE COLLAPSES TO HER BACK!

Ziyi celebrates right away as the crowd stand to cheer her on. The referee nudges Ziyi over to the neutral corner as Lucy groans with her eyes shut. 1....2....3....4... Lucy moves her head to the right side. 5....6... Beyond that she isn't moving at all. 7....8.....9....10 Lucy is out cold!

After:
While it's a shame these two Asian icons never fought in their prime; Ziyi just gave the crowd a highlight reel knockout over the the legend. Ziyi jogs back to her corner celebrating as she poses on the bottom ropes of her corner with both arms up in the air. Taking in the loud cheers of her supporters as this has been a long time coming in their eyes.

All the while Lucy is checked on by the ringside doctor and her coach. Smelling salts brings Lucy around and thankfully it looks like she will be ok, if a little sore as she groans while holding her chin. Lucy admits "she got me good" to her coach to show how clean and hard that shot was.

There's no sign of respect between the two women though. Instead a cold hard stare between them when Lucy is helped to her feet, these two icons simply don't care for one another as Lucy is helped out the ring by her coach. She is going to get some more tests in the medical area to make sure she is fully ok.

In the ring Ziyi is cleaned up and jogs to the middle of the ring. Her left hand is raised in victory as her supporters stand and cheer her. Ziyi gets hold of her national flag to hold it in front of her body as she says "bring me the best from around the world. I want that cougar title!" Which will be music to her fans ears.

She steps out the ring moments later with her coach to her left. Both discussing the fight and looking forwards to what's next for Lucy in what is becoming a crowded cougar division. To think a year ago the cougar and jaguar divisions were just ideas. Now they are divisions with real depth as legends seek one last taste of glory and gold.
