VALENTINES DAY BOXING ON THE BEACH

Before: Both fighters coming in needing a win, 0 for their last 5 and in Cierra’s case dealing with a surging Becky G knocking on the door of the flyweight title. Camila understandably confident: “I handed her back her head when she wasn’t losing to Olivia’s favorite heavy bag,* there’s no way she’s getting a win now!”

Cierra not backing down: “I’m ending this streak today, she’s not going three up on me!”

R1: Softening barrage of rights and lefts amidships has Cierra backing away, gloves up: Camila able to step into a wide, roundhouse right uptop, staggering her sideways. Ramirez hurt, backpedalling, but keeping her dukes up, Mendes walking her girl down, belting away robust, brawling rights and lefts as Cierra blocks or ducks the worst of it. Late the round, Ramirez starts nibblin': ducking under ‘Mila's heavy blows, letting her fall in close, then squirming to tuck tidy leather into excited tummy and breasts. Mendes round on aggression: Ramirez firming after a shaky start.

R2: Lovely quick-fisted two-way action between two beautiful, well-schooled vixens, First two minutes hotly contested, Camila paying the price to get inside, then outfighting Cierra when girls get shoulder to shoulder. ‘Mila’s bread and butter definitely the left hand—very short n’ sneaky with it as she shrugs or twitches off the hooks in tight, or features that tasty jab off the hip. Final minute, Ramirez no loner able to disengage: she’s flat footed; left across her tummy, right up at her cheek, just rolling and parrying shots as Mendes works her over. Good times for Camila, she’s mauling Cierra with brisk lefts and rights chopped in short to head and shoulders; chipping the jab; turning Ramirez and backing her up.

R3: Camila outworked Cierra last round; now she hurts her. Right hand chops in short to chin, followed by a brace of short, curling hooks to ribs and chin: Ramirez sputtering, backs away with arms crossed at her chest. Mendes lunging in, stooping to hook Cierra’s retreating gut: Ramirezr grimacing as she totters backwards, hitting ropes in a fog. Mendes bright-eyed—she’s hopping in sideways, spitting jabs, establishing position off Cierra’s right shoulder. ‘Mila pushing her left shoulder inside Cierra’s right shoulder to control her; raking short right uppercuts, tidy left looks in withering combination. Ramirez battered, trying to cover her face in her hands: Mendes immediately to the waist with cruel, chopping lefts and rights, buckling knees. Camila pushing Cierra into ropes to stabilize her: flowing into a proper beating with busy flurrying against tortured tummy and can’t be bothered to stop—ref yanks her away from behind as Cierra’s sobbing in complaint: “Those were LATE, ref!”.

R4: Nice blend of fury and form as girls tear at each other with decent technique. Cierra spitting out the double jab, turns it over and clips Camila hook to chin early, sending her pony-prancing on the spot. Moments later a slinging bolo right uppercut to tummy brings a charging Mendes up short: follow up hooks bat-bat-bat her chin, buckling her knees and driving her backwards in alarm. Ramirez pounces - runs into a stiff check-jab to mouth. ‘Mila whirls her mitts to Cierra's ribs, shredding her until a vicious Mendes right uppercut nearly sits Ramirez down. Down the stretch, hurt's piling up, both sets of legs getting a little sloppy...girls are slugging and falling in, stumbling into ropes together, then pushing up and punching. Mouths open, fighters continue to pour in all they've got without thought for the long haul. Bell: Cierra's pouring on lather at the ropes - out-hitting Camila who's firing back while laying against ropes. Ref has to intervene as girls won't stop slugging.

R5: Camila feints, leads a right hand that catches Cierra flush on face. Ramirez sputtering, blinking, stepping funky. Mendes fades back, drawing Cierra forward: another lead right hand off the feint scores to face, mitt thump-skidding off shiny Latina brow. Ramirez doggedly forward, trying to close-and-bang: she EATS a tremendous check hook as Mendes pops hips-right and gets it glorious off the front foot. CIERRA GOES DOWN! Ramirez pitching onto her face, desperately hurt once again...she's a shabby wreck, pushing up off her chest, reaching to the ropes, climbing them, swaying on the spot. Cierra insists she's fine...ref lets it go...ON COMES CAMILA! Mendes pouncing in - sorting Ramirez out with a pushing left to the shoulder, but CIERRA SMOKING HER A SLINGING RIGHT HAND! Camila reeling, blinking, torso sloshing to the right as her legs freeze up. CIERRA ON ‘MILA: ALL RIGHT HANDS! Cierra releases the hounds - pushing the left hand against Camila's chest to stabilize her, then cleaning her up with murderous, sweeping rights and MENDES GOES DOWN! Camila climbs the ropes, shaking her head, stepping in fence-post holes a bit, Cierra plods in to jab breasts and body, then lean into straight left hand flat on mouth. Mendes poked hard back into corner, eyes watering: she covers up earmuff as Ramirez arches her back to cleave a left uppercut in between her mitts. From there: chopping right hook, crashing right uppercut mitt-splitter; Camila breaking down as she absorbs face-pasting. Cierra working it from wide stance, famous booty swaying in concert with jamming lefts&rights and THE REF STEPS IN! Mendes just sitting in ropes, staring into punches...it's TKO5 Cierra Ramirez in an early frontrunner for Round of the Year!

After: Camila pooling to a seat in the sand as soon as the bell rings, head leaning back against the ringpost, tears streaming down her cheeks, breath coming in sobbing gulps. Cierra not in any better shape, dropping to her knees as soon as the ref lets her hand drop, gloves in sand, SHE’s bawling as well. Nothing coherent from either fighter ringside, they’ve left it all on the sand!
