Before: “No, I’m not leaving the bantam division,” Kira insists, “I’ve gotten wins over Lawrence & Lively, I’ve been in the ring with the Jenners and friggin’ Theron! This isn’t new for me!” Except it kindof is… Theron’s a legend and the rest are all title contenders. Alice…isn’t. To put it kindly, these past two years have seen Goodwin reduced to the fighter that you go to for an easy win. So yes, this time the questions are valid, and they’re not going away.
Ringposts in sand setup. Alice entering in a black bikini with thin white stripes, black gloves, hair back in a battle bun. Kira entering in yellow bikini with matching gloves, hair back in a battle pony. Both fighters barefoot in sand
R1: Alice setting up wide-stance, midring, Kira weaving side to side, bending at the waist, popping stick. Goodwin dropping right hands: Kosarin slips ‘em, steps inside, hooks ribs in response. Alice systematic, takes her time getting inside, then answering heavy to the midsection. Goodwin lowering her head, bunching her shoulder, she’s SLAMMING away to the waist, big, beefy rights and lefts spank loudly off the gut, Kosarin frowning, giving ground, trying to walk her Brit onto the right uppercut without success late.
R2&3: Kira fighting tall, featuring the jab, making Alice work hard for real estate. Kosarin bobbing, weaving, alternating hands from crossed-arm to earmuff on approach, Goodwin just can't penetrate. Kira spacing her feet wide on the sand, leaning in to touch Alice, then away to create space. Takes Goodwin two minutes on each round to negotiate distance, fetching Kosarin some drumming whacks to ribcage in exchange for feisty close-in right uppercuts from rangy American.
R4: Good stubby jab from Alice early, busty Brit able to work Kira to ropes and get set up for the first time. Goodwin pushing in, Kosarin not used to taking real weight on the inside, brawny arms pushing Kira's out of the way; brawny shoulders bumping. Alice rough with her head - keeping it under Kosarin's chin: mauling, brawling output sees both fighters catch clout head and body. Kira lowering her left shoulder, pushing Alice off, then seeking limber right uppercuts/lashing left hooks in supple sequences. Spots for Kosarin - she IS catching Goodwin, but British bombshell won't relinquish prime position. Alice stands in, works hard for points in the fourth.
R5: Bitter two way fighting rounds as girls stop circling, looking instead to engage/impose will. Glorious shoulder-to-shoulder stuff - girls bumping off with the lead shoulder, then whacking each other stiff&stout underneath. Kira coming off body with that curling left, clipping away on Alice's chin. Goodwin leaning into short, chopping right hands to chin in reprisal, but staying on the ribcage with succulent, hoisting lefts and rights in close. Hot n' heavy - neither girl really giving ground in heated exchanges, round ends with fighters wrapped up tight in a sand-churning La Conquista at the bell.
R6: Alice rocked early: right hands sending tremors down curvy legs, she's tip-toeing hurt across the sand. Kira taking the opportunity to strap away on Goodwin's ribcage, leaning in, bumping top of her head in against Brit's closely grouped mitts while long arms take deliberate, hamhanded cuts at torso. Brutal attrition, Alice wandering along the apron as Kira straps the body, heavy shellack bouncing off taut brunette body. Withering attack finally slumps Goodwin against ropes: she's just sagging there, face-in-gloves, elbows in tight as Kosarin unleashes. Wide, lashing blows, Kira’s head pushed against Alice's gloves or face - fists landing thick n' loud to body, it's all too much. Goodwin sinks to a seat in the sand, knees at her chest, back to ropes - she's hugging her ribs, crying: it's so over. KO6 to the body, Kira Kosarin!
After: No hard feelings, Kira hugging ALice and encouraging her in the aftermath as girls have a little chat while ring fills with usual suspects. "You know - my guys felt I was stronger than Alice," Kosarin says, "so we decided to close distance and bang at her, and we did that. That was the right thing to do, because I knew if we kept up outside she could potentially stop me, so I wanted to get to her ribcage and stay on it. I used her up in the end, but it was closer than it looked"
