Intro:
Last fight of the first round of Diamond Boxing Tournament bouts. Ireland Baldwin is on home turf here in Los Angeles KIA Forum. While Elizabeth Turner is looking to prove she isn't just a JMDD style fighter. She wants it all in the FCBA. Will the crowd get to celebrate Ireland or will Elizabeth upset their night?
The build up to the fight saw both women give statements on video of their thoughts. They each got a turn on the hot seat in a room with white walls around them. Ireland steps into the room first wearing a white dress and black heels. She has a small grin on her face as she crosses her right leg over her left leg.
"First I want to say I can't wait to fight in front of my friends and family. Getting to fight in the best city in the world. My hometown is special for me. Especially getting to beat that boob boxer Elizabeth. I mean Christ! She thinks being a JMDD fighter scares me?" Rolling her eyes as she speaks. Ireland not exactly showing respect to her opponent.
"I have never been given a real chance to succeed. Whether it's because I am so tall or managers are afraid of what I will do to their fighters. If you think that Robyn Lawley is something special. I could beat her ass any day of the week. this tournament is mine." Pointing at herself as she finishes her speech.
Elizabeth heads into the room wearing a tanned bikini top with blue denim jeans and black heels. She sits down asking "hope I am dressed right for this?" Winking to the camera. Giving a playful cup of her boobs for her fans.
"Ok jokes aside, I am so ready for this. I can tell you all I deserve the spotlight but the reality is I need to take it. I am the underdog but I have been training hard for this" says a more serious Elizabeth. Knowing she has to go hard to prove she belongs in the elite conversation.
She stands up with hands on her hips. Telling the camera "Oh to Ireland, hell I nearly forgot about you. You'll be used to that as you ain't Hailey. I am going to knock you out." Making it clear her mission on this fight.
Fighting time. First to come out is Ireland to a loud cheer from the crowd. She can't help but smile as she walks to the ring. Wearing a white sports bra, matching trunks and gloves. Her hair is tied into a braid as she steps into the ring. Heading to the center to blow kisses to the crowd before jogging to her corner. Nodding to herself as if she owns the spotlight.
Elizabeth comes out to a mix of boos and cheers. She cups her ears as she marches down the aisle with her coach. Enjoying the atmosphere around her. She climbs into the ring wearing a green sports bra with black trim, matching trunks and shoes, green gloves with black thumbs. Her hair is in a ponytail as she bounces on her toes staring at her opponent.
The referee brings the fighters to the center of the ring. Ireland staring down at her opponent with both of her hands on her hips. Elizabeth not showing any fear as she stares up at her. Crowd chanting of course for their hometown hero. There's a firm touch of gloves between them before they head to their corners. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.
Round 1:
Engaging around the center of the ring. Elizabeth looks to score early on the inside with punches around the boobs of Ireland, maybe to throw her off her game as Ireland nudges her back. Landing a stiff straight into the forehead of her opponent to push her back a step. With both landing around the center of the ring as both glamour models show they are here to fight alright.
A right cross catches Elizabeth stepping in. Knocking her back towards the ropes as in comes Ireland with a left/right hook combo. Liz needing to tighten her guard up a little more. With Ireland holding the center as the Baldwin supporters cheer every punch that land. The better work coming from Ireland as she holds the middle like the queen of the castle.
She even pays back Turner with a few punches square into her chest. Elizabeth is firing over the top with hooks. Trying to ward off her foe, not getting very far as Ireland keeps her feet planted to take a hit to land one of her power punches in return. As the bell rings it ends a solid start for Ireland as she looks around the crowd with a warm smile. Elizabeth cursing herself already as she sits down on her stool.
Round 2:
Resuming the action with Elizabeth taking a few solid punches around her forehead. Gritting her mouthpiece as she takes them with a grunt. Ducking under a left cross, Liz comes inside with two right hooks to the ribs of her opponent. Showing a little power herself to push back Ireland to the ropes with her shoulder.
Then Elizabeth starts to open up top. Ireland forced to shell up as she tries to move along the ropes and off them. Instead needing to push off Liz to create the space. Both thudding in jabs as Ireland looks annoyed at being pushed back. Swinging two hooks that find air as Turner dances back out the way. Pounding a counter left cross into the face of Ireland to some boos from the crowd.
It looks like Ireland isn't as focused. Missing as Elizabeth ducks and weaves to dodge and land counters. Soon enough Ireland has a cut bottom lip from an overhand right slicing across them. At the bell this round has been a stark reminder to Baldwin that Turner is here to beat her on her home soil, not play the part of beaten rival for her.
Round 3:
Pushing off their stools. Both open up more as they look to take control early. Again Turner goes to the boobs of her foe at times to rattle her. Ireland furious lands more glancing blows as Liz moves her head to dodge. Landing nice counters on the inside to force Ireland to retreat backwards.
Before Elizabeth can get too confident herself, a double jab slams into her forehead to keep her back. She has to be careful as they trade more single punches again. Neither wanting to risk a mistake at this stage. Turner slightly the more proactive with her straight punches up into the face of Baldwin to smack her in the face.
A left sweeping hooks just misses for Ireland. With an overhand right landing on her jaw. Elizabeth forces her onto the ropes. Where she pounds away at anywhere she sees a gap. Ireland needing to hold onto her. looking furious as she has blood coming from her bottom lip to the left shoulder of her opponent. When the round ends moments later Elizabeth is looking the more relaxed of the pair. Ireland giving a pep talk by her coach as she is cleaned up.
Round 4:
Again Liz is looking to move her head and get to the inside. Bashing Ireland up the middle with her jab to press back the taller woman. A left hook though hits Turner on the side of her head as Ireland looks to be reading her movement now. A rifle like straight snaps back the head of the smaller fighter to get the crowd cheering.
Pumping more punches through the guard of Elizabeth as she holds the middle of the ring. While Elizabeth is trying to match her workfare. Problem is she is being pegged to the face and getting thrown off her rhythm. A double jab smacking Elizabeth to her face to knock her onto her heels.
Pulling Ireland into a clinch. Elizabeth looks frustrated as she is pressed against the ropes. They are split up with Elizabeth trying to get off the mark quickly to try to push back her rival. Both slugging it out as the time ticks away. The bell rings to end the round with both staring hard at their opponent before walking back to their corners. Sitting on their stools getting wiped down of sweat.
Round 5:
Exchanging jabs from when they start the round. Elizabeth crouches down but gets clipped around her temple with a right hook. A jab sends Elizabeth onto the back foot as Ireland is starting to motor forwards. Pounding the face of Turner as she pins her to the ropes. A RIGHT HOOK ONTO THE EAR OF TURNER TO SEND HER DOWN ONTO HER RIGHT SIDE!
The crowd roar as Ireland walks to the neutral corner. 1...2...3.. Elizabeth groaning as she rolls to her back with her eyes shut. 4....5....6... Spread eagle as she is clearly out of it. 7....8... Ireland shadow boxing in the neutral corner with a smirk. 9...10 that's it for this one!

That's win number one in the tournament for Ireland. Who raises her arms in the air as she looks out to the crowd. Yelling "I love you L.A." looking over the moon to have won in front of her friends and family. Ireland returning to her corner to be met by a hug from her cousin Hailey.
While Elizabeth is checked over by her coach. She opens her eyes groaning as she holds her right glove over her face. Her coach trying to console her as they help her to sit up. With Elizabeth staring at the canvas before punching it with her right fist.
Helped over to her stool. Elizabeth gets washed down of sweat as her coach tells her "you have to shake this off. She just caught you out tonight" Elizabeth nods as she looks at her coach. Asking to be helped out the ring. Almost the forgotten woman here as she leaves to go to her locker room.
Ireland ignores Elizabeth heading out the ring. Instead going to the middle of the ring to get her left arm raised in victory. She taps her chest where her heart is as she beams with pride. Heading out the ring moments later to hug other members of her family. Showing tonight that she could be a contender in this tournament. |
