Intro:
Third bout of tonight sees American singer Megan Thee Stallion and English model Amy Willerton start their Diamond Boxing Tournament campaigns. The KIA Forum in Los Angeles is the venue for this clash. Both women with a point to prove in this hard to pick bout.
Before the fight took place. Both women gave their thoughts on camera for the fans to hear. The camera was set up in a white room with a stool in. With Megan the first into the room, wearing a red vest with blue denim shorts and black trainers. Sitting on the stool with her eyes locked to the camera.
"So I have heard all the haters talk about me. Sure last year wasn't great for me. People have a short memory it seems, forgetting when I was blasting people out for fun. New year, new start for me." Says Megan as she taps her feet with her fists clenched resting on her knees.
She then adds "to Amy, well you are just the first of my victims in this tournament. I am going to leave bodies laying on the canvas for all the world to see. By the end of this whole thing, you will be talking about me as being the alpha bytch of the FCBA." Nodding her head to herself.
Amy meanwhile sits on the hot seat wearing a black dress. Smiling as she tells the camera "god I can't wait to get this tournament started. The past few months I have felt great. So let's get going!" Excited look as she claps her hands.
"I know Megan is a tough opponent. She will be in my face from the opening bell. I have shown I can handle myself and have a great team behind me. My stable has shown they believe in me. So it's time I step up." Continues Amy as she looks in a good place judging by her smile.
Fighting time. First through the curtain is Megan with her coach Jeri Ryan. Can Megan do better then her stablemates Danielle Herrington and Emma Corrin to win this tournament. She steps into the ring wearing a black sports bra with pink trim, matching trunks and shoes. Black gloves. While her hair is in a braid. She bangs her gloves together while pacing in her corner. Looking fired up to use her fists on her opponent.
Amy steps through the curtain now with her coach Ali Landry walking behind her. Amy nodding to the crowd for her supporters. She soon steps into the ring wearing a powder blue sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves. Her hair is in a ponytail as she bumps fists with Ali.
Both women walk to the center of the ring. Megan looking her foe over as Amy stares right at her. The referee finishes their instructions before there's a crack of leather from the touch of gloves. Jogging back to their corners with stern looks on faces. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.
Round 1:
Off they go with both women circling in close, throwing teasing little combos to try to get the range where they want it. Here come the heavier leather as they look to land big punches behind a jab. Evenly fought start to proceedings as they don't want to be caught too early.
After the opening minute. Megan slams in a left cross to the cheek of Amy. Taking a jab back into her own face but Megan steps forwards. Landing a jab into the mouth of the English fighter. Followed by a right hook as she relies on her toughness to push forwards.
Amy finding herself backed to the ropes after taking a stiff jab/straight combo into her face. Megan pounding in a left hook that turns Amy's head. Covering up more tightly as Megan opens up on her in the home straight of the round. At the bell Stallion walking back to her corner with a stern look on her face. Amy needing to take a breath as she gets a taste of what makes Megan such a dangerous opponent.
Round 2:
Amy comes out doubling up her jab. Megan looking to power through her but is getting caught in her face by Amy. With Megan landing a few hooks around the guard of her opponent. Though they are not landing as clean as before. With Amy landing the flusher punches in reply as she moves more around her foe.
An uppercut catches Megan on her chin. Suddenly Amy switches gears as she powers forwards. Smacking back the American to her face to knock her back onto the ropes. Megan clinches up with Amy, not so keen to trade when her back is on the ropes.
They are split up. Megan comes back at Amy. With both trading on the inside as they touch foreheads. Looking to rough each other up in the final moments of the round. At the bell Megan gives Amy a little shove to her chest as she shows some frustration. Amy jogs to her corner looking more relaxed.
Round 3:
Resuming the action around the middle of the ring. Megan starting to drill in more punches around the chest of Amy to push her back a few steps. Amy landing a few clipping blows back into the face of her opponent. With both women locking eyes as this is a tense battle of wills.
A shove to the chest of Amy opens her up to a left hook on her cheek. Amy finding herself backed into a corner. Where Megan throws a flurry of big punches. Hoping to hurt Amy as several hits land around the sides of the blondes head till Willerton can hold onto her. Both grinding bodies as Megan tries to throw in short digs but her arms are trapped.
They are split apart to resume. With Megan looking to keep the pressure on Amy. Who boxes on the back foot as Megan hunts her down. Both slamming punches into the others beautiful faces to mark them up. Soon the round comes to an end with Megan banging her gloves together as she walks back to her stool. Amy staring at the lights before returning to her corner as Ali tells her to keep her focus.
Round 4:
Stepping back out to fight on. Megan is looking to move on closer to work. Whacking away at the body of her foe. Getting clipped around her cheeks. with Amy looking to land a big punch off her back foot. Megan though is roughing her up with pushing opening up Amy to several hooks around her cheeks.
Megan drives Amy to the ropes. Banging away around the sides of the LMW fighter. Amy fighting back when she sees openings. Several right hooks catching Megan to her face. Megan gritting her mouthpiece as she looks annoyed that Amy is showing resilience. Landing a short right into the stomach of Amy before a left hook on her chin.
Pulling Megan into a tight clinch. With Megan landing a few rabbit punches behind Amy's head. Showing how much she wants to win as the referee steps in, breaking them up and warning Megan to keep things clean. They resume with Megan looking to keep on the front foot but Amy showing her strength to nudge back Megan with a straight to her face. Then a left hook onto the jaw of the singer to show she wants is not going to be bullied around. The end of the round comes with Megan walking back to her corner with her most likely pulling ahead on the scorecards. While Ali gives Amy a pep talk to her.
Round 5:
Exchanging more as they plant their feet. Amy moving her head more to try to dodge and land counters. Megan landing a few crisp punches at Amy but is starting to miss more. Amy catching her with a straight to her opponents nose. With a follow up double jab knocking back Megan two steps.
Megan looking to slug her way back into control. With things getting scruffy as they trade on the inside. Little nudge on Megan's opens her up to an uppercut as she seems to not be focused on them. Leading to her being knocked back to her heels as Amy lands a three punch flurry afterwards.
Moving around the outside part of the ring. Megan covering up more as Willerton is taking the fight to her. Megan swinging off the back foot with hooks that find thin air as Amy lean out the way. Landing nice counters till the round ends. Megan shakes her head as she walks back to her corner. Amy nodding to her coach when she is given more advice. Ali at least happier with her after that round.
Round 6:
With both stepping out to engage again. Amy is starting to slam her punches more cleanly through the guard of Megan. with Megan trying to throw in power punches but is getting caught with counter punches. A right hook slams into the chin of Megan to send her back onto her heels. A LEFT/RIGHT HOOK LANDS ON THE CHIN OF MEGAN TO SEND HER ONTO HER BACK!
Amy jogs to the neutral corner as Ali is smiling as the count begins. 1...2...3.. Megan groans as she looks at the lights. 4...5...6.. Turning to her front. Megan shakes her head. 7...8... Grabbing the bottom rope in front of her. 9...10 getting counted out as she is too dazed to get all the way to her feet!
Winner Amy Willerton KO Round 6:
After:
Arms in the air as Amy looks like a kid on Christmas getting an important win to start her tournament off. She jogs back to her corner to get a hug from Ali. Getting told she earns this victory as Amy is beaming.
Across the ring Megan is helped over to her stool by Jeri. Megan shakes her head as she stares at the canvas. Another defeat in a row for Megan to think about. Jeri not saying a word, just washing her down with a sponge while she lets Megan stew.
Out the ring steps Megan with help from Jeri. She will need to be careful she doesn't let things ruin her focus as she looks furious. With her power she could still make a run for the tiara but first she needs to find a way to get back onto the winning side of things.
Amy meanwhile has her gloves off and soon gets her right hand raised by the referee. The past few months she seems to have found new found confidence. As she leaves the ring with Ali beside her. Ali seems to have been a perfect influence on her. Will this tournament prove to be her big breakout into the title conversation? |
