Intro:
Interesting start to this year's International Cup. We have young Colombian actress Isabella Gomez looking to kick off her teams title defence. Anna Kendrick will be hoping she can kick off the night with a win as Team USA looks to get out the traps quickly to help them regain the title they at one time looked to own.

Heading into the bout Isabella has not exactly been given much backing, still she holds a victory over former FCBA flyweight champion Dove Cameron. While Hall of Famer Avril Lavigne was able to defeat her last year.

Meanwhile for the fans of Anna Kendrick it has been a difficult time to follow her. Twelve straight defeats over the past two years after she finished 2020 by defeating Mila Kunis. Since then she has struggled to recapture the performances that made her a champion. Losing her stable really damaged her but still, she is one of the most popular fighters in the FCBA due to her chipper personality.

Before the bout there's video of both warming up. Isabella in a hurdle with her teammates. Lily James telling her team this is their night. Isabella getting hugs from the others before she stretches as she bounces on her toes in her teams locker room. Her coach for tonight Sharon Horgan.

In the USA locker room Anna is only with her special guest coach Elizabeth Olsen. Who is working as an adviser and coach on the behest of Taylor. Anna working the punch pads Elizabeth has on her hands as it looks a deeply serious affair in this locker room.

Fighting time here in Abu Dhabi's Eithad Arena sees the flags of each nation flown around the arena rafters. Pictures of the fighters facing off on the big screen above where the fighters are going to come out from as the hosts certainly looked to show the importance of this event.

Onto the stage first comes Isabella with Sharon behind her. Isabella is wearing a navy blue sports bra, Colombian flag pattern trunks, yellow boots and gloves as her hair is tied into a ponytail. She jogs down the aisle looking relaxed as she smiles. Stepping into the ring with Sharon patting her on her back, showing confidence in the young woman.

Anna now walks out with a serious look. Elizabeth to her right side as she tells Anna "do it for all of us." Anna is wearing a red sports bra, American flag pattern trunks, red shoes and gloves, her hair is tied into a braid. Into the ring climbs Anna as she takes a deep breath. Anna nods over to Isabella to show her respect.

The referee waves the fighters to the center of the ring. The coaches look intensely at each other as the fighters shake their arms and legs to keep loose. When told to touch gloves they respectfully fist bump their opponent. Returning to their corners as they are ready to start 10 rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:
Out come the fighters showing each other respect early. Trading single probing punches as they circle around the center of the ring. After the opening thirty seconds Isabella comes inside to whack in a left/right hook combo to the body of her opponent. Anna nudging back Isabella with her left, firing off her back foot as the younger fighter is coming at her.

While Isabella lands clean shots to push Anna to the outside part of the ring, when she swings in a right hook with some steam behind it, Anna moves back out the way before peppering in a double jab back into the face of Isabella to knock her back a step. Anna moving to the left of her foe to keep away from that vicious right. Landing peppering punches through the mitts of Isabella to her cheeks.

Last minute to go, Anna catches Isabella across her face with her right. Pushing back Gomez back toward the ropes, Anna switching up her targets as she has Isabella looking a little worried about opening up as Anna is starting to catch her with some big punches. The round comes to an end with Anna jogging back to her corner to be met with a nod from her coach. Isabella meanwhile has Sharon massaging her arms to keep her loose so she doesn't tighten up.

Round 2:
They resume with Anna looking to step inside with a few more body punches of her own. Isabella happy to engage her on that front as they bang away, Anna using her left to nudge back Isabella so she can whack in a short right hook onto the chin of the Colombian beauty to back her off. Anna looking crisp with her punches as she looks fully focused on getting a win.

As Anna looks to keep the pressure on Isabella, the youngster shows her growth as she blocks a jab on her gloves before stepping to the left of Anna and pounds a right hook onto the cheek of her foe to turn her head. Short left slams into the stomach of Kendrick to make her groan out as she backs off.

Isabella stepping in with a straight into the face of Anna through her mitts as she presses forwards. Barking in effort when she has the American in a neutral corner, digging to the body. Anna needing to clinch as she struggles to fire her way out of the situation. The referee needed to break them apart as Isabella pins Anna against the turnbuckles. They resume once apart with both letting their hands go towards the end of the round. At the bell there's a roar from the crowd before the fighters return to their corners.

Round 3:
Stepping back out their corners, both fighters are opening up more as they dig in punches through the others mitts to beautiful faces. Anna dancing more side to side as Isabella is looking to close in on her. It's hard for either to really grasp the control over the opening minute as neither pushes too hard as they don't want to make a mistake it seems.

Anna surprises Isabella as she dips down under a jab to hammer in a right hook into her ribs. Overhand left slams into the chin of Gomez to turn her head. Kendrick has her opponent on the back foot as she drills through the guard of Isabella to her face, marks forming on the younger woman's face. With Isabella finding herself being moved back around the outside of the ring.

Isabella is firing off the back foot but Anna pounding her back with straight punches. Isabella shelling up as her back touches the ropes. Anna burying her fists into the abs of Gomez. Clinching up with Kendrick to slow her down, Isabella looks annoyed as she tries to wrestle her way off the ropes.

Soon enough the bell rings as both are split up. Anna trying not to smile as she is enjoying herself, trying to keep a stoic look as Elizabeth taps her on her left shoulder. Across the ring Isabella sits on her stool baring her gumshield as she taps her gloves. Sharon gives her a pep talk as she looks to keep her calm and focused on winning.

Round 4:
Anna sticking to what was working with a jab as she moves side to side. Isabella stalking after her with her own jab. Both sling in right hooks when they get the range as the power of their punches is going up the more comfortable they are getting. Cheeks reddening up from getting whacked as the crowd whistles and cheers both on.

A double jab into the chest of Isabella opens her up to a right hook onto her jaw. Anna works back the younger woman onto the ropes, swinging in hooks around her opponents guard. Isabella feeling some heat around her cheeks but she pushes Anna to her chest, smacking her with a left hook flush to the chin as she shows her toughness to fight back.

Exchanging in close range as they nearly bump heads. Anna trying to nudge back Isabella, who lands an uppercut to rock back the head of the veteran as sweat flies off. Anna finding herself muscled to a neutral corner, Isabella thuds away around the belly button of Kendrick to make her hiss. Anna trying to fire back before needing to hold onto her foe. They break apart with the bell ringing. Both starting to be coated in sweat as their coaches certainly are not questioning their dedication tonight, they are fighting hard to win this clash.

Round 5:
Stepping back out to resume. Anna looks to keep on the move but a straight hammers into her belly button again. Anna is starting to look winded as she is being caught over the top with hooks, sending sweat flying as her head is turned. Isabella looks to have the bit between her teeth now.

A right hook is blocked from Kendrick as she looks to have slowed a little. Isabella hammers in a right around the liver area of Anna to make her bend over groaning. ISABELLA STEPPING TO ANNA'S RIGHT BEFORE POUNDING ANOTHER RIGHT INTO THE LIVER OF KENDRICK! DOWN GOES ANNA TO ALL FOURS!

Still half the round to go as Isabella walks over to a neutral corner with arms in the air, certainly enjoying sending down Anna. 1...2....3... Anna spits out her gumshield as she rolls over to her back. 4....5.... Curling up her legs as her eyes are shut. 6....7....8... Anna's cheeks are flushed red as tears fill her eyes. 9....10 it's all over!

Winner Isabella Gomez KO Round 5

After:
That's an impressive finish from Isabella as she taps her right glove onto her chest. Happy to have gotten the win after being tested by the veteran. Once she cools off she returns to her corner getting her gloves taken off by Sharon, who gives her a hug and praises her for sticking in to get the win.

Anna meanwhile has an ice pack placed on her stomach by Elizabeth. Who strokes her hair with her left hand as she says "you did a good job Anna." To console her fighter, showing her other side beyond being a focused person. Anna thanking her through pained lips as she is helped slowly to her feet when she feels up to it.

Seeing Anna on her feet; Isabella jogs over to her. She checks on Anna as she shows the former flyweight champion respect. Anna nodding to Isabella as she says "I hope to see more of you. You have a bright future." Isabella beaming at those kind words from Anna. Elizabeth smiles as she was once like Isabella, enjoying praise from those who had being the best in the FCBA when she was coming up through the rankings.

When Anna feels up to it she is helped out the ring. Looking sore around her body, Elizabeth tapping the back of Anna as she tells her "you are always welcome to train with me you know." Anna looking at Elizabeth surprised by the offer. Smiling as she replies "I'll think about it." Both smiling to as they head to the back. Even as their team is one down already.

In the ring Isabella gets her left hand raised in victory. She gets her right hand raised by Sharon. Big smile on her face as she enjoys the spotlight. Getting back on the right track in her career while also getting the opening win for the Rest of the World team. Stepping out the ring with Sharon beside her, both looking excited what is ahead for tonight if this is an hint of the success their team.
