Intro:
Second bout tonight in our World Cup tournament. This is an intriguing bout for as much the backstory then just the tournament itself. Both Eiza Gonzalez and Adriana Lima age former stablemates before Eiza was cut by Odds and Ends. Moving to Celebrity Wrestling Federation to try to be her own woman after being seen as simply in the shadow of Adriana.

The night before the card in Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium saw the tournament fighters got to speak what's on their minds. Eiza stood in front of the camera wearing a white dress with black heels. She has her hands on her hips as she says "this is a long time in coming. I have the utmost respect for Adriana. We have sparred so many rounds and we were friendly. As soon as I was fired I didn't hear a thing from her. So I won't be looking at you as a friend in that ring, I will be coming to win the bout and the title."

She points at herself with her right hand. Telling the camera "I deserve to be respect more then I am but as they say you make people respect you. Winning this tournament will do that." Walking off the set with purpose.

Adriana meanwhile walks into room wearing a black sports bra, black jeans and trainers as she shows off her toned abs proudly. She says "I have shown for years that I am the best in Brazil. That I own the Ice Hotel and I am the mistress of the body saddle. Winning the World Cup is something that feels like destiny."

Changing the subject to Eiza. She smiles as she says "it's going to be great seeing Eiza again. I know deep down she wanted a crack at me, this is your chance to come get some. See where you really ranked. I can answer that but I'll let my actions do the talking."

Fight Night! The Mexican flag is put on the big screen behind Eiza as she walks out with Natascha McElhone. They walk down the aisle with Eiza looking in a serious mood. Looking at her green gloves as she taps them together. Climbing into the ring wearing a white sports bra, Mexican flag pattern trunks, green shoes, her hair is braided. Eiza taps her cheeks as Natascha tells her to show Adriana who the better woman really is.

Adriana now heads out as the Brazil flag is shown on the screen. She marches down the aisle with Kelly Carlson following her. Her traditional icy stare on her face as she stares at the ring. Stepping inside it wearing a yellow sports bra with the green Brazil badge on her right bra cup. Yellow trunks with green stripes down the sides, matching shoes, green gloves and her hair is braided. She bounces on her toes as she locks eyes on her opponent from her corner.

They walk to the center of the ring. Going nose to nose to stare right into their foe's eyes. When told to touch gloves, there is a tense touch between them before they walk back to their corners. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of lightweight action.

Round 1:
Out they come with Eiza looking to double jab out the gate, keep the strong Adrian's at range. Adriana landing a few cross punches as she looks to drive back her former stablemate. They fight around the ring as Eiza boxes off the back foot.

A missed right cross from Lima leaves her open to a counter straight into her face, Eiza follows up with a left/right cross combo to the cheeks of the Brazilian beauty. Adriana finding herself forced back as Eiza throws a flurry at her. Adriana finding herself having to keep her guard up tight to protect herself as Eiza looks very motivated tonight.

Less then a minute to go. Eiza pumping in her punches towards the toned abs of her rival. A left hook catches her on the cheek. Adriana reminding her of the fighting spirit she has as she lands a straight into the forehead of Eiza to push her back. Eiza covering up as she finds herself on the opposite set of ropes as the former champion digs her toes into the canvas.

The round comes to an end with both women glaring at each other. Any friendliness they had seems totally to have gone. Walking to their corners with Adriana staying on her feet. Spitting out the water she sips and staring hard at her opponent with hands on her hips.

Round 2:
Lima starts off with her punches landing around the chest of Gonzalez. Eiza landing a few jabs around the cheeks of her older foe. A looping left hook cracks Eiza on her cheek. A straight follows to push back the Mexico stunner onto her heels. Adriana pushing back her rival into a neutral corner.

Pounding at the torso of Eiza to make her hiss out. Eiza pushes at the face of Adriana and moves out the corner. Problem for Eiza is that Adriana is looking to rough her up. Pushing at Eiza to keep her pinned back towards the ropes. Both exchanging but it's Adriana landing the harder shots as she swings through her hips.

Eiza landing a short right hook up top near the left eye of Adriana. With Adriana backing off as she daps at her eye to make sure it is ok. Eiza coming back after her rival. Drilling in a jab/straight through her mitts to her face. Soon enough the round comes to a close, both women turning on their heels to their corner. Eiza knows very well that Adriana has power in both fists.

Round 3:
Back at it they go with both women landing stiff single punches to start. Eiza bending more at her knees looking to duck some of the heavier punches coming her way. They exchange more hard shots as they try to grab control of the round.

A left cross catches Eiza near her ear. A straight follows up into the forehead of Gonzalez to knock her back a step. Adriana drives her onto the ropes, digging away at the torso of Eiza to make her groan. Eiza holds onto her opponent to slow her down. The referee needed to break them up as they exchange a few insults.

Adriana looking to keep the heat on but she eats a few straight punches square into her face. Eiza boxing defensively around the outside part of the ring. Adriana landing several cross punches, she isn't quite able to pin down her opponent. The bell rings with both exchanging a few harsh words. Sitting on their stools getting wiped down as their coaches give them advice, looking to spur them on.

Round 4:
Stepping back out to resume. Eiza is moving around to the left of Adriana to stay away from her right fist. Adriana to keep the pressure on her but not quite landing as clean as she'd hope. Both drilling in stiff jabs around the others cheeks.

A right cross catches Lima around her left eye to make her cry out. Eiza lands a follow up left hook and then a straight to knock Adriana back. Adriana has swelling around her left eye as Eiza looks to make it worse. Eiza herding Adriana around the perimeter of the ring as they exchange.

A right hook just misses from Adriana, eating an uppercut and a left hook to her chin to knock her back into a neutral corner. Eiza slams in several hooks around the guard of her rival. Adriana needing to hold onto her, both fighters land rabbit punches to the back of their opponents head. The referee splits them up with a warning to them. They go toe to toe in the dying moments of the round. At the bell Adriana shakes her head as she returns to her corner, upset with herself.

Round 5:
The fighters push off their stools to fight on. Eiza starting to catch Adriana around her puffy left eye to make her yelp. Adriana not able to really plant her feet as she is being pounded with combinations. A right hook on her chin opens her up to a left hook on her temple to make Adriana stumble back two steps.

Adriana is backed up to the ropes, she is being outworked as she tries to fight her way back into this. AN UPPERCUT LANDS FLUSH ON THE CHIN OF ADRIANA! DOWN TO ALL FOURS SHE GOES!

Eiza raises her arms as she stands over Adriana staring hard at her. The referee nudges back Eiza to the neutral corner so the count can begin. 1....2....3... Adriana pushes back onto her haunches, arms over the middle ropes. 4....5....6... Adriana is blinking trying to clear her vision. 7....8... Adriana falls back to her knees when she tries to get up. 9....10 it's all over for Adriana here. She doesn't advance in the tournament.

Winner Eiza Gonzalez KO Round 5

After:
This has to go down as an upset as Eiza beats her former stablemate to advance. Eiza roars "yes!" As years of frustration being dubbed second best to Adriana are released. She jogs back to her corner to give a big hug to Natascha. Tears of joy in her eyes as she thanks her manager/coach for her help in preparing for this bout.

All the while Adriana shakes her head in disbelief that the woman who was basically her understudy in the Odds & Ends stable has beaten her. Kelly comes over to check on her with Adriana asking "how the hell did I lose?" Kelly not answering as she focuses more on helping her fighter back to her stool. Adriana tosses her gloves to the canvas to vent her anger.

Seeing that across the ring makes Eiza grin like a Cheshire cat. Adriana getting to have a little taste of what she felt for years. She raises her arms into the air as she looks out to the crowd and gets cheered by her supporters. Natascha yelling "this is the future of the lightweight!"

Once Adriana feels up to it she leaves the ring. Not wanting to show any respect to Eiza. Clearly deep down thinking this was a fluke as she walks to the back with both hands on her hips. Could we see a rematch between these two again?

Well all Eiza cares about now is getting her left hand raised in victory. She blows a few kisses to the camera before she heads out the ring with Natascha. We now know the first semi final later tonight as Lily James will be Eiza's opponent. Will it be England or Mexico making it to the final?
