Intro:
We kick off the World Cup tournament here in Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium with national legend Miranda Kerr looking to add to her legacy and give her fans a trophy to celebrate. Lily James meanwhile will hope to channel the Lionesses spirit as another Australia versus England clash takes place now.

Before the night both women were asked for a few words. Miranda Kerr was asked for her thoughts on the FCBA Network. As she stood wearing a white dress with heels. She says "I have done a lot in my career that I am proud of. If I can win this tournament on home soil... God it will mean so much. My hands are shaking a little thinking about it." Miranda gives a little nervous laugh.

She then continues by saying "but I am ready for this. I have proven I can win on the biggest stages. Lily is a great fighter so I look forwards to the challenge she presents." Nodding yo herself as she shows respect to her opponent in round one.

While Lily is wearing a navy blue blouse, black jeans and heels. She smiles as she waves to the camera. She tells the camera "I am so honoured to be part of this tournament and to have been chosen to represent England."

Lily then says "I am so glad as well to be facing Miranda. I have so much respect for her, she has done so much in boxing that she is truly amazing. Don't worry I am not geeking out on her as I want to win it all. Let's have a great fight Miranda." Waving to the camera before she walks past.

Fight night! There's an "Aussie!" Chant filling the air already. A loud roar rings out as Miranda walks out onto the stage with a giant Australia flag on the screen behind her. Miranda smiles as she heads to the ring with Nikki Visser. She is wearing a blue sports bra with a kangaroo wearing red boxing gloves badge on her left cup, navy blue trunks and shoes, gold coloured gloves and her hair up into a ponytail.

Once inside the ring; Miranda bows to each side of the ring as her supporters are chanting her name. Miranda has certainly got the crowd fired up as Nikki reminds her to not worry about what's going on around her, simply to focus on the fight.

As the England flag appears on the screen, boos ring out as out comes Lily with her coach Angelica Bridges. Lily chuckles to herself as she obviously expected not to get much love here. She jogs down the aisle showing she isn't afraid of the atmosphere. Stepping inside the ring wearing a white sports bra and gloves. St.georges cross pattern trunks and gloves, hair tied into a ponytail. Lily fist bumps Angelica as her coach tells her to bring home the win.

The referee waves the fighters to the center of the ring. There's a little grin on both women's faces as they have hands on their hips as the instructions are read out. They bump fists respectfully with a nod. Jogging back to their corners as the bell soon rings to start 10 rounds of lightweight action.

Round 1:
At the start of the round both women feel each other out with stiff jabs. This is the early conundrum of knockout tournament life as both fighters just miss with a few early haymakers as they tread between trying to not make a mistake and yet save energy for the later rounds. Miranda doubles up her jab to smack back Lily a step as it lands flush into her face, she cuffs the cheek of the English fighter with her right cross as Lily shows good footwork to move to the left and away from the ropes into space.

Things start to heat up after Lily misses with a left cross, Miranda countering with a straight onto her cheek. Miranda gets a loud roar from her supporters as she nudges Lily onto the ropes. Coming in hot with hooks as she looks to up the tempo now. Lily trying to fight her way off the ropes as they slug it out. Miranda though keeps pushing her back to the ropes to disrupt her flow. Slamming in several clean hooks to force James to clinch up with her.

Resuming with under a minute to go after being split up. Lily is boxing more defensively as Miranda looks to have the wind in her sails from her supporters yelling. Both landing some clean punches square into the others face but it is Kerr bringing the pressure. The round comes to an end with a great start for the local favourite. Miranda nods to the fans to show she has got this.

Round 2:
Lily starts to stick and move more as they exchange. Looking to use her footwork and upper body movement to create angles to strike from. Miranda planting her feet too much as Lily is able to dodge and counter her. A straight snaps back the head of the Aussie to a few boos from the crowd.

Holding the middle of the ring now; while Lily takes a few clean hits around her face, she is the one dictating the action with several crisp two and three punch combos as she steps up a gear. Digging some even into the chest of Miranda to make her hiss out.

Late in the round Miranda keeps Lily honest as she catches her with a left cross. Lily steps back when a straight lands on her lips. Miranda steps in closer to let her hands go as she looks to regain ground on her opponent. The bell rings not long later with Lily getting a few boos, while Miranda gets "let's go Kerr!' chants to spur her on.

Round 3:
Again Lily starts off quick as her tactics seem to be throwing her opponent off. Miranda missing with some of her heavier handed punches as she loads up a little too much. Lily looks to want to wear down the former multiple weight champion. With a double jab/straight combo landing square into the face of Kerr to knock her back two steps.

Soon Miranda finds herself herded into a neutral corner. Lily plugging away to the body now as Miranda tries to cover up. Miranda landing a few short hooks out her guard. Just missing with an uppercut as Lily leans out the way to land a counter left cross to the cheek of her foe.

Ending up clinching with Lily, Miranda hisses as she is getting annoyed. The referee breaks them up with a stern stare between the fighters. Miranda comes back at Lily as they exchange, a few marks now adorning their faces as they let their hands go. Lily though keeping Miranda off balance as she dips under a left cross to pound in two right hooks to her ribs. The round comes to a close with another great round for James. Miranda cursing herself as the boos get a little louder.

Round 4:
Miranda adapting to the task in front of her as she doubles up her jab, striking more at the chest and torso of her opponent to try to keep her in place. Lily is striking back too as leather cracks on flesh. The crowd cheering any time there's a hint that Miranda has landed, even when she misses.

A right cross catches Lily on her chin as her left glove dipped down. A double jab pushes the actress onto her heels as Miranda now comes at her with a glare. A left hook catches Lily around her chin as Miranda really wants to lay into her opponent. Lily fighting back but nudges to her chest disrupt her rhythm.

Pushing at Miranda's chest to get away from the ropes. Lily covers up more tightly as she works. Drilling her punches back into the face of her opponent to keep Miranda honest. A left hook opens up Lily to a straight into her face to push her back a step. Miranda crowds Lily back into a neutral corner. The round ends with Lily shelled up. The crowd fired back up as Miranda jogs to her corner. Lily has Angelica telling her to keep her cool as she sees her certainly not enjoying being pushed around.

Round 5:
Back out they come with both women opening up more as punches crack onto cheeks. Lily gets caught around her left ear with a right hook. Miranda powers forwards as she drives Lily back towards a corner. Lily smartly holds onto Miranda before she gets pinned into the corner.

They are split apart with both women gritting their mouthpieces as they want to win this badly. Miranda stepping after Lily as they exchange around the ring. Lily finding herself having to backtrack as Miranda is marching forwards after her. Both trading stiff punches to the others face.

A missed left cross from Miranda leaves her open to a counter right hook on her chin. An uppercut soon follows and Miranda is on her heels as there is forty seconds to go. Lily drives Miranda back onto the ropes behind the model. Lily pins down Miranda now as she swings in hooks. The bell rings to end the round with both women walking back to their corners with sweat dripping off their brows. Miranda looked great till she got caught flush.

Round 6:
Resuming with Lily catching Miranda early with clean shots through her gloves. Miranda is looking a little disheveled as she might have been rocked by the uppercut in the last round. Miranda missing with a left hook and gets caught with an overhand right onto the chin of Kerr to rock her head around. LEFT HOOK LANDS FLUSH ON THE CHIN OF MIRANDA TO SEND HER ONTO HER BACK!

Boos rain down on Lily as she walks over to the neutral corner. Lily taking a breath as she tries to ignore them. 1....2....3....4... Miranda sits up with a shake of her head to clear the fog. 5....6....7... She is trying to push up to her feet. 8... But Miranda's legs are like jelly as she goes back down to a kneeling position. 9....10 even as the crowd chant for Miranda to get up. She is counted out!

Winner Lily James KO Round 6

After:
Lily advances to the semi final of the World Cup. She doesn't celebrate too much as she doesn't want to rile the crowd up too much. Angelica gives her a pat on her left shoulder as she returns to her corner. Sitting on her stool happy to get a drink and wiped down.

Miranda meanwhile is helped up to her feet and led over to her stool. Miranda sheds tears down her cheeks as this night meant so much for her. To go out in the opening round, she is clearly disappointed with herself for upsetting her fans.

Once Lily is cleaned up and her gloves are taken off. Lily walks over to Miranda's corner to give her an embrace. Miranda tapping the back of Lily as the crowd applaud them. Lily almost apologetic that she won but Miranda tells her to win the trophy for her. Calming down as she smiles. Lily raising the right arm of Miranda to a loud cheer from the crowd, showing they haven't lost any love for their hero.

Miranda let's Lily have the spotlight as she points at Lily and tells the crowd "please don't boo her. She is amazing" to cheers. Miranda has her hands on her hips as she walks slowly to the back. She is shaking her head as she still isn't happy with herself. This might spur her on to get back into her best form again.

Lily meanwhile almost forgets that the referee needs to raise her hand. There's a few laughs in the ring as Lily walks over to them. Getting her right hand raised by the referee. There's a respectful applause for her as the crowd is still smarting that their girl is gone but heeding the words of Miranda.

Out the ring steps Lily with Angelica carrying her gloves as a damp towel is hanging over the neck of Lily. She will find out soon whether she will be facing Eiza Gonzalez or Adriana Lima in the semis. Lily looking excited to get back out to fight as she chats to Angelica.
