Intro:
It's main event time! Camille Kostek looks to do what she hasn't been able to do yet, that is defeat the "Golden Girl" Hannah Ferguson in a boxing ring. These two have fought each other twice previously. First in 2018 for the JMDD title where Hannah stopped Camille in seven rounds. The second time was two years ago when Camille hoped to win the Welterweight title, that time she was defeated by unanimous decision. Can Kostek defeat her boogeyman of the division?

Since then Camille has been on quite a roll. She has defeated Robyn Lawley to start the year and to win the welterweight title. While she lost that belt, she has become the Queen of the Ice Hotel. Arguably this is her best chance to defeat Hannah.

A press conference was held the night before at a hotel conference room. A small stage set up with both women walking onto it from opposite sides. Camille wearing a red dress with matching heels. Hannah is wearing a gold coloured dress with matching heels. Both square up for photos with Hannah looking at Camille with her head slightly tilted down. They soon retreat to opposite sides of the stage to sit on stools.

It has been a healthy rivalry with more respect then a grudge. Camille is up first to the podium and shows this when she says "I need to win this fight badly, if Hannah beats me for a third time then what chance will I ever have to beat her? She'll have proven she is that damn good in the ring." Hannah nodding in agreement at that.

"I know I can beat her, this year has shown what I can do. I defeated the undefeatable giant Robyn (Lawley) to start the year. I have won two titles and I am stronger, fitter then I have ever been. This is my time and I am not going to let you beat me again" Camille says with a stern tone. Hannah stares harder at Camille after that.

Up steps Hannah to the podium. She admits "Camille I will give you a ton of credit, you have did all you have said. You are doing wonderful and respectfully I knew you could do all that." Pointing at Camille as she speaks.

"You won't be beating me though. I have proven I am the bigger woman, stronger and the better boxer. Even if we go the distance again you will fall short. It's just a simple fact I am better then you" says Hannah. That gets Camille standing telling her she is wrong. A few more words are exchanged as they move closer, just holding back from going for each other.

Instead they leave the stage from opposite ends. The tension is clear between them as Camille's need to beat Hannah is on show, also that Hannah seems to know whether she admits it that Camille is at her most dangerous right now to fight.

Fighting time! The Copacabana Beach has been raked where the ring posts are set in so the fighters have sure footing. Theres bleachers on two sides of the ring with the judges table on another side.

First out onto the beach comes Camille with her coach Nadia Bjorlin to her right side. Camille is wearing a floral white bikini with violet gloves, hair tied into a braid as she steps into the ring. Tapping her cheeks with her gloves, Camille looks hyped up for this bout.

Hannah now heads towards the ring with her coach Steve Boyd. Hannah is wearing a yellow bikini top, string blue bikini bottoms with yellow trim, blue gloves and her hair tied into a ponytail. Hannah nods over at Camille before she stretches her arms.

The referee brings the fighters to the middle of the ring. They listen to the referee as they look relaxed. Fist bumping their opponent with no issues beyond Camille looking a little annoyed when Hannah wishes her good luck. Back in their corners soon enough, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
"Ding!" Both come out with eyes firmly locked behind their gloves, they circle once before getting down to business. It's clear early on that Camille wants to push the pace, digging in two punches as she edges in closer to Hannah. With Hannah hammering in crisp jabs to keep Camille on the outside. Both fighters trying to establish their game plans right away.

A feint by Kostek allows her to sidestep a jab and come over the top with a right cross to the jaw of her opponent. Camille steps inside looking to rough up Hannah with a little nudge before she throws in two pounding hooks to the jaw of the taller woman.

Ferguson finds herself being moved around the outside part of the ring. Camille getting hit with several punches to the side of her head. She is digging her toes into the sand as she lands hard hooks to the body. An uppercut catches Hannah to force her to the ropes as Camille is looking the more fired up so far for this. Beating Hannah around her flanks in the dying moments of the round. At the bell Camille walks back to her corner with an intense expression.

Round 2:
Maybe it was that she wasn't warmed up as she should have been or maybe laxness from beating Camille twice already. Hannah isn't making the same mistake twice as she matches the intensity of Camille out the gates this round. Both slinging in hooks from the outside. Trying to power each other back when they do end up close as Hannah is clearly wanting to remind Camille who the boss in this ring is.

After the hard fought opening minute of the round, Camille gets caught with a left hook on her ear, a straight follows into her forehead to knock her back a step. Hannah doesn't rush in, instead she gets hold of the middle of the ring, making Camille move around it.

The better work is coming from the Texan. Camille lands a few solid blows from the outside but it's Hannah out working her and landing more crisp shots. Camille's cheeks are marked up nicely from the straight shots coming her way. At the bell they return to their corners with Camille trying not to let her shoulders sag. Hannah looks the more confident between them.

Round 3:
Crouching down to stab in my punches around the stomach area of Hannah. Camille is trying to adapt to what is coming her way, getting clipped around her forehead with straights and jabs. An overhand right that misses by Kostek as Ferguson sees it coming and responds with a jab/straight combo into her face.

Not to be deterred as she is moving around the perimeter of the ring; Camille deflects a straight on her left glove and catches out Hannah with a right hook into her ribs. Camille steps in tighter with more hooks to the body. Hannah hissing with each hit till she can nudge back Camille to create space.

Problem for Hannah is that Camille isn't going to back off so quietly, an overhand left strikes Hannah across her jaw to sent some saliva flying. Hannah is muscled back to the ropes, where her abs are tested again as Camille looks like she wants to cut her down like a redwood. The round comes to an end with Camille getting a gap on her left shoulder by her coach showing they are happy with how she is going along so far.

Round 4:
Nearly bumping bodies as they exchange in close, Camille looks to be starting to dictate the early pace now in these rounds. She is getting clipped though around her head for her troubles. Hannah lands a short left into the cheek of her foe to try to ward her off.

Instead it takes an uppercut to straighten up Camille into a left hook to back her off. Hannah drills in a follow up double jab/straight combo as she looks to have found another gear. Soon there's blood trickling from the bottom lip of the former cheerleader as she is moving around the outside part of the ring.

Hannah keeps her moving around there as they exchange. At range that extra reach Hannah has is the kingmaker it seems as she is landing the more harder shots. Digging her toes in to add extra power. Camille is forced to cover up more before the bell dings to end proceedings. Camille feels her bottom lip and sees the blood on her right glove. Hannah meanwhile nods to Steve that she has got this in the bag.

Round 5:
Both these powerful blondes again slug it out to start the round. Hannah keeps nudging back Camille to create space to work. Rifling her punches square into the face of the Queen of the Ice Hotel. Camille gets caught with a right hook around her ear to make her retreat again, maybe showing a little fear for the power of Ferguson.

That might be well founded after a left hook catches her on her ear to make her stumble two steps to her left. A POUNDING STRAIGHT TO THE FOREHEAD SENDS CAMILLE ONTO HER BACKSIDE!

That certainly stunned the crowd before they roar. Hannah waving them to be louder as she walks to the neutral corner. 1....2....3... Camille shakes her head and rubs her ears to stop the ringing in them. 4....5....6... Camille pushes up to her feet with a nod to the referee. She raises her fists up and other referee wipes her gloves down before letting them fight on.

They both exchange punches as Hannah looks to end things now. Camille holds and hits at times to slow down Hannah. Both grappling to the ropes as the referee has to break them up and warns Camille to stop holding as much.

The round comes to an end with Camille looking a little glum. Nadia is telling her off for getting into her own head instead of focusing on this fight. Camille nods as Nadia gives her both barrels. Hannah is enjoying the show as she smiles from her stool.

Round 6:
Hannah is looking to end things now as she pumps more straight punches towards the face of her opponent. Camille though digging her toes into the sand when she targets the body of Hannah to make the Texan groan. They nearly clash heads at one point as both step in with a hook, ending up clinched and trying to power each other backwards.

Broken up by the referee. Hannah resumes strong but gets caught with a left hook on her chin that twists her head. Maybe some laxness returning to Hannah's game as she is forced back against the turnbuckles of her own corner. Steve yelling at her to hold as some red marks form on her body from the power shots of Camille.

They need to be split up again after Hannah holds onto Camille. Hannah slams in a jab/straight combo to push back Camille but the smaller fighter lands a straight into the chin of Hannah to spook her. Both fight on the outside with punches sending sweat off magnificent torsos and off their heads. At the end of the round Camille looks proud that she didn't crumble to Hannah after such a bad last round. In fact now it's Hannah looking annoyed with herself, cursing herself for not finishing the job now.

Round 7:
Exchanging as they fight around the center of the ring. The punches look to be getting harder as they swing through their hips. Ending up clinching up as both are looking to be hurting now. The referee breaks them up and Hannah is quicker off the mark with a double jab landing into the face of Camille to push her back.

Pushing Camille around the outside part of the ring. Hannah swinging in more hooks but is getting caught in return with straight punches into her face. Both women are fighting hard to try to keep each other on the back foot. A left hook catches Camille on her cheek to put her back on the back foot.

Camille covers up tightly as she is moved around the ropes. Hannah staring intensely as she is trying to break down. She gets caught with a left cross though as Camille isn't backing away so easily. The round ends with both women having a brief stare down before going to sit on their stools. Getting wiped down and patched up.

Round 8:
Hannah is looking to press Camille early on but Camille has other ideas; ducking down under a jab, Camille rams a harpoon like right into the breadbasket of Hannah, who gasps as her eyes go wide. A left hook slams into her cheek as she retreats back.

Things get scruffy as Hannah tries to hold onto Camille, who fights to keep her off. Another right to the body has Hannah fighting back tears. A clubbing left hook to the ear has her stumbling as it's clear that she is hurt! A RIGHT HOOK TO THE CHIN FINALLY SENDING THE TOUGH TEXAN DOWN ONTO HER RIGHT SIDE!

Camille raises her tired arms into the air before walking to the neutral corner. 1....2....3....4... Hannah holds onto her stomach as she is groaning, eyes shut as she lays on her right side. 5....6....7... Camille is almost praying from the neutral corner. 8... Especially as Hannah rolls to her front to get to all fours. 9....10 that's as far as Hannah goes as she is counted out!

Winner Camille Kostek KO Round 8

After:
Camille looks at Hannah and raises her arms into the air. Almost disbelieving that she finally beat her boogeyman. Nadia rushes into the ring to give her a hug, yelling her "I told you that you could beat her!" With Camille smiling as she hugs her coach back.

Both walk back to their corner with Camille pumping her right fist into the air in her corner. Her supporters are chanting "Queen!" Over her Queen of the Ice Hotel title. Though she proved here that she is certainly now one of the queen's or the welterweight division.

All the while Hannah gets an ice pack placed on her stomach by Steve. He rubs her back and tells her "you were unlucky, don't beat yourself up over this loss" as Hannah nods. She pushes up to her knees soon enough, getting her arms and face wiped down by Steve after her gloves are taken off.

Over comes Camille to kneel with Hannah, while both are fierce competitors, they are both very respectful of each other. Asking how the other is and telling the other how good they are. There's a hand shake between them before Camille stands up and helps Hannah to her feet.

Hannah nods to Camille before she departs from the ring with help from Steve. She knows this isn't her moment but Hannah is certainly going to have plenty more big moments in her career. She walks to the changing rooms knowing that the dynamic between her and Camille in the ring very well might have changed.

Inside the ring Camille gets her left hand raised as the sun starts to set and fireworks start to be fired into the sky. Camille watches them for a moment before Nadia tells her the camera people want a photo of her. She poses with Nadia to her left side as both have an arm around the others back. Camille telling them "I wouldn't be where I am without the support of this woman." Nadia blushing a little.

They leave the ring together with both excited about seeing some of the sights in Rio before they have to fly back to the States. 2023 has been a lot of fighters year it seems but Camille Kostek might have the biggest argument to say it has been her year.
