Intro:
Next up we have former FCBA bantamweight champion Minka Kelly looking to beat Brie Larson once again. Both these California girls head to Alaska to step into the Ice Hotel. The first time they fought was last December for the title. It took nine rounds before Minka was able to stop Brie as the referee had to step in to save Larson.

Both have shown each other plenty of respect over the years. Minka being a former Lookout! Stable member herself in her career. The southpaw legend told the press in the build up to this bout "I enjoyed our first bout. Brie gave me one hell of a fight and you know I love a good fight. I see her as one of the hardest workers in all the FCBA, it's just a matter of when she wins a title, not if."

While Brie told the FCBA Network on its primetime show "I asked for this rematch. I was so close to beating Minka and it was one mistake that cost me the title. So while I respect her a lot, I need to win this to prove that I am ready to take that step up to the title."

Fight Night! Out first coming to the ring comes Minka with her coach Eva Mendes. Minka is wearing an emerald coloured sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, her hair is tied into a ponytail. She climbs into the ring with Eva telling her that she knows how to win against Brie.

Then here comes Brie with her coach Julie Benz. Brie is wearing a black robe as she stares intensely straight ahead. The robe is helped off her to reveal a navy blue sports bra with black trim, matching trunks and shoes, black gloves, her hair in a ponytail too. Brie steps into the ring with a nod towards Minka but judging by her banging her gloves together, she is keen to get started.

Both walk to the middle of the ring for the final instructions, Minka bounces on her toes to keep loose, Brie is staring right through her. They touch gloves respectfully before walking back to their corners. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
Early on and Brie getting clipped around her torso with straight punches as they try to establish control. Brie landing a few punches around the forehead of Minka. As usual in this orthodox versus southpaw style match up we have some toes getting stepped on to make both women glare.

A straight catches Brie square in her face. Minka slips a straight in return to land a short left hook to the body, followed by a straight to her opponents face. The older fighter presses Larson back towards the ropes with piston like body shots, clearly hoping to break down the younger woman. Brie needing to nudge her back to get away from the ropes.

It's clear though that Brie is struggling against the southpaw stance early, not getting her lead foot outside of her opponents. Minka landing the crisper punches, making Brie have to circle around the outside part of the ring. The round comes to a close with Minka off to a strong start to this bout.

Round 2:
Brie is trying to adjust but right away Minka catches her with a jab/straight combo to knock her head back. Brie is soon back where she was at the end of the last round, trying to keep away from those ropes as she moves side to side.

Into the second minute of the round; Brie is starting to land more punches in return as she is getting the range right. That's till Minka dips under a jab to thrust a right into the ribs of Brie to make her groan. Overhand left follows to strike Brie across her face to force her to cover up. Brie finding herself being driven back into a neutral corner.

Banging away at the torso of Larson, Kelly looks to be having fun as she is making her opponent grit her mouthpiece. Brie grabs hold of Minka in a clinch, forcing them to be split up so they can fight on. When they resume a fired up Brie catches Minka with a clean jab/straight combo through her mitts. The final thirty seconds seeing Minka tighten her guard as Brie comes firing back. The round ends with another great round for the former champion. Brie looks frustrated as she looks to the heavens. Julie needing to tell her to cool off and think about what they did in training. Brie nodding in reply as she takes a few breaths to cool down.

Round 3:
Banging her gloves together before she steps out to resume. Brie is getting more of her punches to land. Still Minka looks up for the challenge as they exchange two punch combos. Several hooks fly in to test the chins of both gorgeous fighters to the delight of those watching at ringside.

Brie soon leans her head out the way of a right cross; landing a counter straight square into the forehead of her foe to knock her back a step. Brie's eyes light up as she follows in with a three punch combo flush into the face of Minka to knock her onto her heels. Soon enough Minka finds herself shelling up on the ropes as her opponent looks to wear her down with hooks to the body.

Giving a little push to the chest of Brie, Minka lands a crisp right cross to force her foe back. Minka head down as she works the torso, till she gets pushed back and both women reset. Exchanging around the center of the ring with both fighters coaches willing them on. Cheeks are getting marked up from clean punches. Late on Brie leans out the way of a left cross to land a counter right into the cheek of Minka to make her take a step back. She follows with a left/right cross combo to the joy of Julie. The bell dings to end proceedings with Brie looking more relaxed now she has had some success.

Round 4:
It looks like Brie has found some rhythm as she moves on her toes and is catching her opponent more with her jab. Minka still has some success dipping down to land to the body of Brie to make her back off. Each time Minka looks to step inside she is getting hit with cross punches around the sides of her head to send some sweat flying from her brow.

A double jab opens up Minka to a right hook on her cheek. There's a little swelling forming under the left eye of Minka. Who backs off with her guard up as Brie looks firmly in control. Hooks fly in from the Marvel star. Minka needing to grab hold of her now to slow her down. They are broken up by the referee after a little grappling.

Resuming with under a minute to go; both have success as they land straight punches into faces as guards start to open up more. Again as they try to push their opponent back they step on toes to make them hiss. At the bell they share a quick annoyed look with their opponent before walking to their corners. Julie rubs Brie's arms to keep them from tightening up as she tells her how great she is doing now. Minka meanwhile nods to her coach that she is letting her opponent get away with clean shots too often.

Round 5:
Minka looks more her usual self now as she moves her upper body more, guard up more tight as Brie comes in with her jab. Minka landing a few nice counter punches straight down the barrel into the face and chest of her opponent to make Brie grimace. Brie lands a few nice cross punches to stop Minka having things her own way.

A straight catches Brie on her chin to knock back her head. A follow up left hook twists the head of the "Captain Marvel" star as Minka comes in closer. A LITTLE NUDGE WITH HER LEFT ARM OPENS UP LARSON TO AN UPPERCUT THAT SENDS HER TO HER BACK!

Minka taps her gloves with an icy stare as she walks to the neutral corner. She is certainly in the zone as Claudia yells "that's it!" To the crowd of celebrities watching. 1....2....3....4... Brie groans as she sits up shaking her head. 5....6.... She pushes a little shaky to her knees. 7....8.... Brie is up to her feet. Claudia looking disappointed but she tells Minka to be ready. The referee checking over Larson, who raises her fists to show she can fight on with a nod.

They resume with Minka having a minute left to finish this fight off this round. She gets a few crisp shots in but gets clipped in return with several back into her face. Brie holds onto Minka at one point and they nearly trip through the top and middle ropes, thankfully they are helped to their feet by the referee. Resuming with Minka shaking her left ankle, maybe hurting it in the trip.

The round ends with Minka making quite the statement but she looks bugged by her ankle as she nods to Eva about it. Shaking it to try to keep it loose. Brie meanwhile gets some water poured over her head to make sure she is fully awake. Tapping her gloves as she assures Julie she is okay.

Round 6:
Both step out their corners and it's clear early that Minka is planting her feet more then really getting on her toes, that could be her wanting to throw more power shots or it could be her ankle. Brie is still somewhat light on her own feet as they box around the middle of the ring. Minka misses with an uppercut as she tries to catch Brie out again, instead a short left cross catches the older woman across her cheek to send some sweat flying.

Things down get better for Kelly as the straight of Larson starts to land more around her swelling under her left eye. Minka hissing when it gets hit, with blood soon trickling from it as it is opened up with a right cross. Minka showing her toughness to step inside to work the body when she can.

Both letting their hands go more in the home stretch of the round. Minka trying to land that uppercut but just hasn't quite got the timing right. Instead it is Brie landing the better combos to keep Minka at bay. The round soon ends with Minka walking back to her corner not particularly quickly. Brie meanwhile has a fat bottom lip as it has swollen. Both certainly are not playing around with their punches.

Round 7:
Out they come again with Minka looking to be grimacing as she moves. Brie starting to catch her with more flush two and three punch combos through to her face. A right hook catches Minka on her cut to make her cry out. Minka holding onto Brie to slow her down as the referee is needed to split them up.

Back at it they go with Brie taking a few hooks around her ribs. Pushing back Minka to her face to create space. A double jab catches Minka flush on her face, THAT OPENS HER UP TO A RIGHT HOOK SQUARE ON HER CHIN! DOWN GOES MINKA TUMBLING TO HER BACK!

Brie raises her arms in the air and has to be reminded to go to the neutral corner. 1....2....3... Eva is banging on the ring apron to try to coax her fighter up. 4....5.... Minka groans as she turns to her front. 6....7....8... Crawling to the ropes, 9... Minka leans on the middle rope with a wince etched onto her face. 10 Minka is counted out!

Winner Brie Larson KO Round 7

After:
Brie gets her win over the former champion. She raises her arms into the air as she looks out at the crowd. A look of relief on her face as surely she suspected the knockdown she suffered might lead to her own downfall. Instead she gets to walk back to her corner to the warm embrace of Julie telling her "that's the performance of a future champion."

All the while Minka has to be slowly helped to her feet by Eva. She looks tentative to place any weight on her left foot, confirming something is wrong with her ankle. Eva placing an ice pack on it after removing her boot to show there is a bruise on it. Minka looks dejected that she lost.

Seeing the state that Minka's ankle seems to be in. Brie heads over to check on her. Minka assures her she will be ok with a smile. A fist bump is exchanged between them as Minka jokes she'd give her a hug but she would prefer to stay on the stool with a wink. Brie smiles and nods in return.

Once Minka feels up to it with some help, she leaves the ring, gingerly going to the back where she'll be checked over in the medical room by the FCBA doctor. It is a hard loss for Minka, she doesn't look to be making any excuses for this defeat. Even if one mishap in the ring seems to have led to her downfall.

The winner meanwhile gets her right arm raised in victory. A big beaming smile on her face as she can now say she has beaten Minka in the ring. Now to look forwards to a fight on the Re:ignite card coming up. She is very popular it seems right now with plenty wanting to take her down to put her name on their CV.

It'll be interesting as Brie leaves the ring with Julie if this hard bout will affect her next bout or if the confidence boost will drive her on over the month. Also could she look to our main event and the Princess of the Ice Hotel for a future shot at that?
