Intro:
Second up on tonight's card sees Michelle Rodriguez look to continue searching for a cougar title bout as she takes on Marvel star Zoe Saldana. Who is looking to make her own impression on the new division after taking on young fighters over the past few years.

Each woman was asked for a few words in the build up. Michelle told the cameras as she got her fists taped up by her coach in her locker room "I am simply after one thing and that's the cougar title. Zoe is a good boxer but if I create openings I know I can hurt her." As always confident and straight to the point.

Zoe meanwhile was stretching in her locker room when Alicia Atout for the FCBA Network gets to speak to her. Zoe tells Alicia "I am here to rebuild my career. I wish this division had been created a few years ago so I wasn't been used to pad the record of rookies looking to make a name for themselves. Now I can remind people what I can do in a fair fight."

She stops stretching a moment as she tells Alicia "I know Michelle can fight with the best. She is a brawler who has the muscle to back it up. She is also a bully and like all bullies, if you pop them on the nose they get scared. I am going to out box her and end any dreams she has of lifting titles again. This is my time to shine and she isn't going to steal that from me." Going back to her stretches as she makes her point loud and clear.

Fighting time! First out is Michelle with her coach behind her. Michelle as usual is wearing a black sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, hair is braided as she keeps her look simple. Michelle also has her icy gaze aimed at the ring as she is in seek and destroy mode. Tapping her gloves once she is inside the ring as she looks keen to use them on Zoe.

Who emerges onto the stage with her coach to her right. Zoe bounces on her toes for a few moments before she marches down the aisle. She is wearing a red sports bra with black trim, matching trunks and shoes, black gloves with red thumbs as her hair is in a ponytail. She climbs into the ring with a glare aimed at Michelle. Not much love lost here it seems as both want this win badly.

The referee waves both women to the center of the ring. Eyes locked as the referee reads them the final instructions. Both women don't intimidated by their opponent. They quickly swipe gloves with their foe before jogging to their corners. The bell soon rings to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
At the bell Michelle is looking to crowd Zoe from the off. Saldana using jabs along with her footwork to keep Michelle off her. It's a clash of styles already as Rodriguez lands several crisp body shots when she closes up to Zoe. In return she is nudged back and eats two punch combos into her face.

After a closely fought start, Michelle walks into a left counter on her cheek after missing with a straight. Zoe lighter on her feet as she sidesteps to punish the former world champ. Zoe with a follow up jab/straight square into the face of her opponent to force her back to the outside part of the ring. Where Zoe is building momentum switching her targets up and outworking Michelle.

But before Zoe can be content, a left hook slams into her ribs before an uppercut catches her on her chin. The final thirty seconds sees Zoe crowded onto a set of ropes. Her body is being targeted by hammer like shots from Michelle, making the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star groan till the bell rings to end the opening round. Both looking a little annoyed as they had some success, Zoe looked the crisper fighter though.

Round 2:
Zoe trying to establish the jab again to keep the fight where she wants it. Using it like a newspaper on a bad dogs nose. Michelle shows her bite as she dips under a jab to land an overhand left on the jaw of Zoe to twist her head around. Michelle clearly wants to bust up the body of her opponent as she goes back to digging away at the torso of Zoe to make her grimace.

Pushing Michelle off of her; Zoe looks cautious as she boxes off the back foot, trying to keep the range and use her height advantage to keep punching Michelle on her forehead. Michelle tightens her guard up as she stalks after her foe around the outside part of the ring.

A feint by Michelle baits Zoe into moving into a right hook, Zoe's head gets turned around before a left cross slams on her lips to back her up a step. Michelle pounding more thudding body shots in as she is testing the abs of Saldana. The round comes to a close with Rodriguez stamping her authority on the round.

Round 3:
Back out they come with Michelle being more aggressive early to step inside the reach of her foe to land hooks to the body. Zoe needing to try to re-establish the reach as she drills in more two punch combos to the face of the "Fast & Furious" star. Both grunting with effort when they exchange at midrange to the delight of the crowd.

Michelle is having some success getting to the inside to pound away at that body. She is also getting clipped over the top with short hooks into her face to open her up. A left cross lands near her temple to back her off, allowing Zoe to then pepper her face with a crisp jab/straight/jab combo to the joy of her coach.

Late in the round Zoe is backing up Michelle after a straight lands on the forehead of Michelle. Leading to a tense exchange as Michelle looks to keep herself off the ropes. Gloves flying as cracks of leather on flesh can be heard. The bell dings to end things with Zoe nodding to her coach that she will be ok. Michelle has marks over her face as she listens to her coaches advice.

Round 4:
Again Michelle is looking to be the aggressor in this bout. She gets in a few solid shots but takes a right hook on her chin to test out its toughness, she looks fine, it's not long before a left/right hook combo test it out again as Zoe is showing she won't be bullied so easily.

Second minute of the round sees Michelle get caught with an uppercut on her chin after a feint by Zoe. A double jab opens up Michelle to a right cross as the pressure is now coming from Saldana. The black woman showing her power with some hard hooks when she digs her toes into the canvas. Michelle clinches up to slow down the action.

Less then forty five seconds to go. Zoe looks to keep the heat on but is caught walking in with an overhand left. Michelle showing her toughness to take the earlier flurry and come back at her opponent. Both slamming in short hooks up until the bell rings. Both women shake their heads somewhat as they want this win badly, not too happy with themselves.

Round 5:
Resuming with Zoe looking to take the fight more to Michelle. The switch in game plan looks a mistake as she takes a harpoon like right into her belly button. Grimacing as she takes two steps back, Zoe is caught with a left hook to her ribs, THAT IS FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER RIGHT SQUARE TO THE BODY TO SEND HER DOWN TO HER KNEES!

Marching to the neutral corner; Michelle bangs her gloves together looking fired up. 1....2....3... Zoe on the other hand rubs her stomach to ease the pain, while taking in some deep breaths. 4....5....6... Pushing with a wince to her right knee. 7....8... Zoe gets to her feet and raises her fists, showing her pride that she wants to fight on.

Still there's just under two minutes to go and like a lioness leaping on its prey, Michelle is quick to catch Zoe with a straight into her face. Zoe is trying to fend off Michelle till she can fully recover. A NASTY RIGHT TO THE BODY HAS ZOE TURNING AROUND HOLDING HER STOMACH AS SHE SHOWS HER BACK TO HER BACK AND LEANS AGAINST THE ROPES! THE REFEREE WAVES THE FIGHT OFF AS ZOE DOESN'T SEEM ABLE TO TAKE ANYMORE!

Winner Michelle Rodriguez TKO Round 5

After:
Michelle raises her arms into the air as she stares through Zoe, before walking back to her corner to a high five from her coach. Michelle looks zoned in right now and certainly looks in the past shape she has been in a while when it comes to the sweet science.

Zoe meanwhile gets an ice pack placed onto her stomach by her coach before she heads off to her corner with help. Zoe admits she got caught too easy around her body. Cursing herself as this was a great chance on paper to right her career. Instead she has to fight back tears as the pain runs through her body to her toes.

Once the dust has fully settled, Michelle goes to the center of the ring for the final result to be announced. Zoe gingerly joins her still holding the ice pack to her torso. The right hand of Michelle is raised to a loud cheer as she smiles for the first time tonight. Knowing the importance of this victory as she looks for gold.

Zoe can only nod knowing tonight simply wasn't her night. She leaves the ring with help. Walking to the back looking at the floor. Her coach telling her that she can still be a force with a little bit of work. She doesn't seem to be paying them much attention though as they go to the back.

Meanwhile Michelle makes it clear tapping her abs that she wants a title to be covering them soon. She leaves the ring knowing that picking up these wins is how she will go about getting a shot at Jenny McCarthy for the cougar title. Can Michelle keep rolling the years back like this?
