BEFORE:
Two promising fighters open our mini-mini event this afternoon, with up-and-coming model Lily Chee set to take on social media darling Saffron Sharpe in ten rounds of Lightweight action.

Saffron fared well in her debut against fellow Singaporean Natalie Yeo back in January of last year. And today, she’s booked a ticket all the way to California to face off against the American model.

“I’m a secret admirer,” Saffron grins during the pre-fight segment. “But Lily doesn’t look like she can take a punch in there, which I’ve personally experienced. She might want to stick to her modeling career by the time I’m through with her.”

With over 1.6 million followers on social media, the 19-year-old Lily Chee has already modeled for big brands such as Calvin Klein, Dior, and Tommy Hilfiger, and hopes to find the same success in her brand new outing in the world of celebrity boxing!

“Never heard of Saffron until I did some research of my own,” Lily says, with a cheeky smile. “Glad she’s come all the way from the Far East, but I’d hate to spoil her holiday plans with a first loss handed to her. Let’s see what happens in there, shall we?”

Ladies square off in the ring, and that one-inch height difference between the pair isn’t going to do much to level the playing field. Rather, all eyes are on the contrast between Saffron’s thicker, wider hips, compared to Lily’s leaner and more toned figure.

Both models do touch gloves with a hearty smack! before backpedaling to their corners. Sharpe is in a red sports bra and white boxing trunks, no doubt repping her home country, whereas Lily has gone for a dark green olive crop top, black boxing trunks of her own.

The referee signals for the opening bell, and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Lightweight action!

ROUND 1:
Saffron clearly has been training, putting in the work this past year, roars inwards to hound the newcomer with attacks from the opening bell. Always an advantage for the fighter who’s actually stepped into the ring before, be it for one fight or more. She sends combos into Lily’s arms and constantly pressures her backwards, with Miss Chee looking overwhelmed in her very first outing. We can’t exactly blame her, of course, with Lily too focused on not getting punched to the face, her arms locked over her head and leaving herself open to more body-bashing lefts and rights. Saffron takes her pick of targets, gleefully shooting her fists in, but then looks a little surprised when Lily pounds a right hand straight into her nose in the final minute, putting her on notice as well. Wide round to the Singaporean, though, who is looking for an early night!

ROUND 2:
Chee is still defending well, her long, slender legs moving in tandem, just like those sparring sessions back in the gym. She’s firing off more punches towards Saffron’s face, using her slightly longer reach to frustrate her approach. Sharpe, on the other hand, trying her own hand at bigger, more thunderous hooks, rocking an early one to Lily’s head before a low lunge at her torso scores off the youngster’s ribs. Lily, however, is entirely focused on the return jab combos, and exploits Sharpe’s lack of a defense to hammer in her own flurries one after the other, snapping the head back and soon enough, turning Sharpe’s nose a bright shade of pink! Sharpe shakes her head by the third minute, the stinging pain beginning to add up for sure! Lily Chee with a comeback performance, landing more often and avoiding more of her foe’s attacks to take it wide back!

ROUND 3:
Both girls start off cautiously, circling, but Lily of course with those longer strides forward, trying to capitalize on her prior success. Saffron however is blocking more effectively, using her guard to protect her face. Lily slams several stiff shots off her torso but they don’t look to have done much damage. Saffron waits for the opportune moment to strike back, and that comes in the second minute, a right hook suddenly lunging at Lily’s face! The American model is TOO slow to weave backwards, and the glove catches her flush on the cheek! OUCH! Lily lets out a grunt and groan, immediately goes stumbling off to the side, her eyes wide with shock! AND HERE COMES SAFFRON, showing no mercy, pounding on the rookie’s sides and arms, trying to knock her off her feet and earn an early second victory for herself! Chee doesn’t have any answer, chest bleating and mouth agape as the punches sink into her body and chest, before an uppercut RIPS into the base of her chin, sending her flying backwards! AND DOWN SHE GOES, Chee collapsing onto her side and groaning, the rest of her lean body trying to make sense of what the f*ck just happened! Saffron throws both hands high into the air, smiling wide, as the referee counts her opponent all the way up to 10! And just like that… it’s OVER!

Official Decision: Saffron Sharpe defeats Lily Chee via KO3!

AFTER:
Perhaps this Sharpe girl has some prospects for her future, packing both the tools and the looks to get the job done! Meanwhile, poor Lily Chee, considered a most promising prospect just three rounds ago, is forced back to her corner to breathe the smelling salts for a much-needed reality check.

“I feel great,” Saffron beams to reporters by ringside. “Everyone said I was too old to do this boxing thing. But look at the result. I’m eager to continue fighting in the ring. There are several girls in our industry whom I think also need a reality-check.”
