5. Emily Ratajkowski vs Halston Sage

BEFORE:
And now, for another curious match-up, with the pundits and scorekeepers heavily favoring one girl entering this contest. SPOILERS: the Vixens and Queens are tied two wins to two, so it’s going to be up to either Emily or Halston to pull ahead of the competition.

Emily looks sure of herself earlier on at the press junket, entirely dismissing her opponent’s chances of winning this fight.

“Are you kidding me? I was amazed they even proposed this match-up, and doubly amazed when Sage said yes,” Emily says with a sly smirk. “She hasn’t won a single fight in her career!”

Sage looks on, defiant, but can’t of course can’t deny the facts where facts are due. She gives Emily a death stare from across the table, before responding:

“My new stable has the utmost faith in me. Who the f*ck cares about what a naked pin-up model thinks?” Halston says with a huff, drawing audible gasps from the audience, and another wide smirk from the Vixen. “She can underestimate me at her own peril. But I guarantee you I’m winning the first fight of my career tonight.”

Halston doesn’t just have the experience slider against her, but also suffers from being two inches shorter than her opponent, Emily striding right up to the blonde and tilting her head slightly to the side, as though belittling her further. Halston glaring straight back, her blonde hair loose and flowy over her shoulders, as she plants her fists right at the edge of Emily’s chin.

Fight night and both ladies want to surge ahead for their stables, though it’s crystal clear who the fans are cheering on. Surprisingly, it’s the Queens’ Halston Sage, who’s greeted to a loud roar as she entered the arena, the fans loving an underdog story, especially if she ends up succeeding. It’s mighty brave for a fighter to enter the ring with a belt under her chest and almost 80 fights to her name - it’s another thing entirely to step into the ring to face her.

Emily’s gone for an amber string bikini, red gloves pounded together to further intimidate the Queen. Halston shifts nervously in her own corner, looking fit and showing signs of gym action in her dark navy sports bra and short black tights, white gloves.

Referee signals for the opening bell and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Emily shows us how it’s done, skirting inwards and lighting up Halston’s defenses to start. Bit of a see-saw thing going on so far, with the Queens and Vixens exchanging numbers and then one-upping the other team in a consistent manner. Emily hopes to break this stalemate, shoving fists into Sage’s face from afar, then gleefully boasting about it by showboating on the other end of the ring, as though this fight were a walk in the park. Sage not looking too pleased, of course, rubbing her cheek and nose and doing her best to land her own attacks on the veteran Bantamweight. Emily takes some licks to the body and face, but they pale in comparison to what she dished out in this opening round. Wide round to the Vixens, and they’re definitely hoping to keep the momentum up!

ROUND 2:
Emily’s hitting punches to the arms, as Sage is doing a better job of protecting her face and body by employing a fluid guard. Sage also has to contend with the Vixen’s reach advantage, as Ratajkowski seems content to punt and bash at her face for now, no doubt waiting for the blonde to mess up before striking. But Sage disrupts her attempts each time, taking a fistful of leather to the lips and getting staggered, then making ready to swing back at Emily’s head or body with a wild hook to score lucky. And score lucky she does! With Emily not seeing those zingers coming till it’s too late! Emily grunts as she tastes the blonde’s power first-hand, getting nailed to the side of the head by a left lunge, then Sage digging at her undercarriage with a couple more thrusts to the tummy. Close round for the Queen, who wins her redemption, much to the dismay of the VIX team.

ROUND 3:
Emily gets serious, jabbing and hounding the newcomer with jabs galore. But will it be enough, or will Sage once again adapt and hand the Vixen a humiliating upset loss? Ratajkowski wins several points for herself in the first minute, picking Halston off from afar and firing those lefts and rights around her guard to hopefully stun her badly. Sage takes another right hand off the forehead, grimacing slightly but then quickly reforming her guard. The blonde actress is determined, we’ll give her that, lunging back at Emily’s lean torso with strapping hooks, and Emily is the one forced to retreat after several hard thumps to the belly connect. Sage presses in, doing her best to intercept more of Emily’s strikes coming in, and must be feeling satisfied that her power counterattacks are doing damage.

ROUND 4:
And Halston almost DROPS the Vixen at the end of the first minute! Ladies started off circling each other and trading punches from afar, but Emily got a little cocky and decided to rush in to hammer at Halston’s body in some payback action. Sage took a couple of steps back, grunting from the tummy abuse, but then instinctively swiped a hook high, which landed across Ratajkowski’s features! Emily looks shocked, wide eyed and mouth hanging open, her lips taking another bashing hook clean across to swivel her towards the ropes in a 180 degree spin! AND HERE COMES SAGE, growling for payback! Ratajkowski has a limited window to get the hell outta the pocket, and she does try to clam up and hunker down, but Sage manages to drill several uppercuts into her stomach before the clinch occurs, and the referee has to step in to separate both women. BIG round for Halston Sage, who’s smiling widely with her arm raised on her way back to the corner!

ROUND 5:
What started as an easy fight is quickly devolving into Emily Ratajkowski’s worst nightmare. She may have won a crucial victory against Margot Robbie just last month, but here, she’s getting bullied about the ring by a comparative rookie, with Sage taking the shots to her head and then dishing the punishment back three-fold! Emily’s forced on the backpedal from the opening bell, trying to keep the blonde off her with her jabs slammed into the arms at every opportunity, of course looking for the best one to smoosh that leather into Halston’s nose or lips. But Sage keeps the pressure on - sure, she might be taking unnecessary stings to her face, but she’s pouncing back with bigger overhands that stun Emily to the side of her arms or straight down the middle into her paunch. Bell rings and though the Vixen has taken it close, we think, the effort has left both girls breathing hard.

ROUND 6:
Emily tries to get back into the lead with an early rush, hopefully surprise Halston with a barrage of punches landed all over. Sage went down in similar fashion to some of her previous opponents, and Ratajkowski has clearly seen the tapes, firing a flurry into her stomach before taking a page out of her foe’s book and hammering a hook into the head for effect. Sage, however, is a different beast tonight compared to years ago, when she wasn’t backed by a multi-million dollar enterprise and new stable. She takes those hits like a champ and fights back, responding with a bashing hook of her own off Emily’s lean torso, then slamming another across the former JMD champ’s chest to draw a loud squeal of outrage. Emily’s SILENCED however as Sage steps in and DRIVES a right hand straight through the arms and into the Vixen’s lips, to SEND HER DOWN onto her back with a loud THUDD!! GOOD LORD!! COULD SAGE HAVE SCORED THE UPSET HERE AFTER ALL?! Emily looks absolutely DONE for, lying flat on her back and spreadeagled, her eyelids fluttering up at the stadium lights! The referee doesn’t even bother with the ten-count, immediately signaling for the medics! It’s OVER!!

Official Decision: Halston Sage defeats Emily Ratajkowski via KO6!

AFTER:
Sage in jubilation as the bell sounds loud and clear, and her hand is raised by the referee. This here’s a girl who hasn’t won a single fight in her brief career, and she just knocked out a former champ and top ten competitor in the Bantamweight circuit!

“Everyone told me it was suicide,” Sage later says to reporters, whilst fighting back tears. “It just goes to show how serious I am at sticking around, and how damn good my stable is.”

Ratajkowski is still knocked out cold in the center of the ring, as the VIX team do their best to check on her welfare. It’s been a mixed year indeed for the former JMD champ, recently getting smothered out by Eden Cohen as well, another debutante to her own game.

No comment from the VIX team at the moment, who suddenly realize they’ve been playing defensive this entire stable war, and with the Queens already tallying up their wins to 3, it’s only going to take ONE more win for the newcomers to permanently plant their flag!
