7. Hannah Ferguson vs Elyse Levesque

Hannah:

BEFORE:
If the Alexis Ren versus Krysten Ritter pre-fight press conference was crowded, this conference was overflowing. It was, after all, the main event between two hard hitting welterweight contenders. This match was, or is, a statement of the raw power each stable could bring on the other. Hannah Ferguson vs Elyse Levesque. USA versus Canada. Veteran experience versus experience being put to use for the first time in the FCBA ring.

The contenders were already sitting at their respective ends of the table. Elyse’s hair is more of a red hue than brown these days, the highly athletic woman was wearing a pink tank top and black jeans while Ferguson wore a yellow top and blue bottoms. There didn’t seem to be animosity between these two competitors.

Hannah begins, “I’ve heard the rumors about Elyse - that she has real power and can make moves in the ring that are just so agile.”

Elyse smiled at that statement.

Ferguson continued, “However, she is one of the faces of the Queens and this is a stable war between them and us so I’m going to have to apologize in advance for beating you around the ring.”

Hannah and Elyse laughed at that statement. Elyse responded, “that assumes you’ll actually win.”

Levesque went on, “Actually, Krysten may have lost her match but I intend to make up for it. When we get in there, cordiality goes out the window.”

Ferguson replied, “I expect nothing less.”

The two women stood up and met at the podium. Both being 5’10” tall, there wasn’t any real height discrepancy between them. Photographers snapped the moment both girls shook hands before they headed off towards the back to get ready for their bout against each other.

It was time for the double header to begin. First out, Hannah Ferguson accompanied by the VIXENS competitor of the previous match, Alexis Ren who was still clearly injured and bandaged in some places courtesy of the war with Krysten. Hannah, wearing yellow bikini briefs and a matching bra, hopped up onto the canvas and stepped foot into the ring. Greeted by cheers, the crowd at the Sydney Showground had been patiently waiting for this match and it was here.

In true Queens inaugural fashion, an entrance really had to be made and Elyse was about to get one that the FCBA would remember. As the arena lights started to dim they began flickering while at the starting point of the Queens ramp they were out all together. After a few moments, from the back walls, lavender waterfall fireworks started steadily shooting out in sequence from top to bottom revealing the silhouettes of two women. At the edge of the entrance and ramp but still within a safety area already planned out, mine styled fireworks of the same color began shooting up from the floor as blue lights started to come on revealing Elyse Levesque wearing a pink bra and low rise gray tights. With her was also someone from the double header: Krysten Ritter. They began walking down the ramp as every even number firework was lavender and every odd number was blue.

Elyse waved to the crowd who were on their feet or had pulled out their phones to take photos of what they couldn’t believe with their own eyes. This truly was an FCBA entrance to remember.

While Elyse was still making her way down, Ferguson turned to Alexis and asked “what the hell kind of entrance is that. Nobody in the FCBA does this,” to which Alexis retorted “they think they’re royalty. What did you expect? They want the attention. Just focus on beating her down.”

Finally, Elyse made it to the ring and hopped up, waving to the crowd like she was already the champion before she slid under the ropes. The girls both had matching gloves to their attire placed around their hands and the referee called them over to go over the rules. They bumped gloves and made their way back to their respective corners.

Here we go with ten rounds of welterweight action! DING! DING!

Round 01:
Coming out of the corner methodically, Hannah stalks Elyse around the ring with both girls initially wanting to test the other’s defenses. Ferguson was quite curious of Levesque’s athleticism and if she really was what the rumors made her out to be. Hannah made the first move on Elyse throwing a battery of punches which Elyse used her slender toned flexible body to easily dodge. What came next, Hannah didn’t expect. Levesque got right between Ferguson’s guard and slammed two dazing uppercuts into Hannah’s chin with enough power that her head ricocheted into Elyse’s glove for a third uppercut shocking ringsiders and Hannah lost her footing but retained enough balance to stay upright far enough back from the now ominously red haired woman who just made her face look like a punching bag.

Not letting her opponent rest, she closed the distance and fired a volley of shots into Hannah’s ribs causing her to yelp at the force. Ferguson, a veteran and not one to take a beating lying down, waited until Elyse went back upstairs for a swing at her face to plow a perfect solar plexus punch into the slender Canadian girl with force hard enough that Elyse’s lips pursed as she gasped for the air she needed.

With Levesque stunned, Ferguson took advantage to strike back at Elyse’s ribs before she painfully hit Elyse’s jugs several times. Now Levesque was on the backfoot and Ferguson went in for a haymaker to Elyse’s right temple to try and break down her dominate side but Levesque parried it and returned the favor with a straight into the left eye causing Ferguson to yelp followed by a missile of a punch to the left to the right temple just as the bell sounded ending the round.

The ref quickly jumped in to usher both girls away from each other.

Just by the sheer brutality and skill Elyse demonstrated over Hannah, the Judges ruled the round wide in Levesque’s favor.

Round 02:
At the Queens corner, there wasn’t much to do except go over strategy and Krysten providing words of encouragement. Elyse looked so dominant in the ring that the VIXENS fans had quieted down in worry that Levesque might actually accidentally hurt Ferguson even if it wasn’t her intention to do so. In addition, the nearly one sided show put the VIXENS on thin ice.

In the VIXENS corner, Hannah was being tirelessly worked on with ice on her left eye and right temple; her ribs bruised; it was clear that Levesque might as well have been hitting her with fists of steel. Alexis offered words to the fellow Vixen: “She hits hard and she’s fast. But you are technical, you can beat her if you keep her where you want her. Don’t let her control the ring. Krysten lost the very same way.”

With the intermission over, both girls stood up, although it was clear that Ferguson was hurt compared to Levesque. The bell sounded and round two began.

Hannah was showing off her technical skill in the ring this time by controlling the direction of movement; not allowing Elyse to get her in one single spot. Of course, they would have to engage each other soon enough and Ferguson had a plan for that. She was slowly luring Elyse close enough to the turnbuckles so that she couldn’t escape easily and when Hannah was satisfied, she moved in on the waiting Levesque who didn’t even know she fell into a trap.

With one plunge of the first into Elyse’s long waisted torso, she was pinned back against one of the turnbuckles. However, before Hannah could do any serious damage, Elyse was able to get into a clinch forcing the ref to reset the girls which irritated both ring side onlookers.

With the round coming to an end fairly quickly, Levesque took the initiative after the reset and paid her back for the earlier jug shot with one of her own followed by another straight to the sternum. Before Ferguson could respond, the bell rang and the round was over - both Hannah and Elyse were equally unhappy as they walked back to their corners.

Judges give the round to Hannah close.

Round 03:
Intermission. VIXENS back to work on keeping the swelling down in Hannah’s eye while the Queens put ice on Elyse’s reddened tummy to help with the pain. For the first time, Levesque actually was hurt enough by Ferguson and she had every intention of returning the favor to Hannah. Krysten Ritter jumped on the ropes and told Elyse that Alexis used the same tactic on her and that she’d need to control the tempo if she wants to win, to which Elyse acknowledged.

Both girls stood up once more and the bell rang. Round three begins. The veteran Hannah Ferguson was more than confident in her abilities and came directly at Elyse. Big mistake. Mid straight targeting Elyse’s ribs was once again parried followed by Levesque delivering multiple cruel straights right to the nose of Ferguson. Hannah could feel red hot liquid coming out as Levesque didn’t stop to the point that it was a wonder how her nose didn’t dislocate or break. Elyse followed it up with a harsh uppercut that put Ferguson on her toes.

Completely on the offensive, Elyse left her lower body wide open to Hannah who, under the onslaught of Elyse’s strength, powered through and started hitting back and Elyse’s body wherever she could. Elyse finally yelped in pain as her ribs suffered the brunt of the assault and Levesque returned the favor with a punch that felt like a brick hitting Ferguson’s ribcage.

The bell sounded and the round came to a close even if the girls were now staring burning hatred in their eyes.Especially since Elyse was effectively rearranging Ferguson’s face.

Judges rule it wide for Elyse Levesque.

Round 04:
Overtime for both sides as the Queens tried to dull the pain in Elyse’s ribs while over at the VIXENS corner they were trying to get the bleeding under control. When the intermission was finally over, both sides had done the best they could and hoped for the best. As both girls stood up, the already excited crowd was roaring believing that this match might go all the way.

Hannah notices that Elyse is still in pain due to the attacks on her ribs and intended to capitalize on that because it was becoming clear that in a raw power match, Elyse would win. As the girls reached the center of the ring, Hannah feinted right causing Elyse to believe she was dodging to true straight only for Hannah to send a rocket of a punch right into the brushing ribs of Elyse causing her to yelp again and bend over slightly. With her guard still high, Ferguson had free rein over Elyse’s torso and took advantage.

Not giving Elyse a break, Ferguson hammered away at Elyse’s long torso, aiming especially for those bruised ribs to the point that the pain caused a streak of tear from one of Elyse’s eyes from how much it hurt.

Levesque needed to get out of there and when Hannah dropped her guard up top completely, Elyse took advantage and slammed a brutal punch into Ferguson’s forehead that gashed her head, giving her another spot where she was bleeding.

Elyse stepped back and the rest of the round was highly defensive for both girls as Elyse had just taken a pounding and Hannah had an eye covered in blood.

The bell rang and round four came to a close.

Judges rule in favor of Hannah Ferguson, wide.

Round 05:
During the intermission, “overtime” was an understatement. Elyse’s bruised ribs really could only have ice put on it right now but she was powering through the pain. On the other hand, at the VIXENS corner, the new gash that was given to Hannah Ferguson was being taken care of. With the intermission coming to a close, the Canadian was out for blood this time as both the American and the Canadian stood up for the halfway point of the match.

Hannah was once again settling into her technical mindset that her veteran experience taught her thinking Elyse was weakened enough now that she could finish her off. The two girls circle each other for a little bit before Elyse makes the first move, a lower feint to bring Hannah’s guard down followed by a haymaker that hit so hard it partially spun Ferguson around and let out some blood from a new gash.

Ferguson counters by using her hips to her advantage to hit Elyse’s stomach hard enough that the 5 feet 10 inch girl was lifted very slightly off the ground. Elyse, forced to hold her stomach which was now in severe pain, took some more punches to her already bruised ribs. It seemed Hannah had a strategy to make sure Elyse couldn’t beat the count.

However, Elyse backs off before it’s too late and with high levels of adrenaline running through her, she looked to put Ferguson down. Hannah approached, her guard lower, but Elyse sent two hooks into Hannah’s cheeks, turning them black and blue. As Hannah tried to respond, Levesque delivered two brutally powerful uppercuts followed by a far more powerful haymaker that tossed Ferguson to the canvas.

Elyse quickly moved to a neutral corner. Most of the arena started chanting Elyse’s name while the VIX fans were quiet, worried about what just happened as the fierceness of the boxing match seemed like it was escalating out of control.

1, 2… Hannah was dazed looking at the lights of the arena; 3, 4… realizing what was happening she grabbed a nearby rope for leverage and began pulling herself up; 5, 6… wobbly, Ferguson was almost under her own power; 7, 8… Hannah had barely beat the count.

The referee came over to check Hannah out before allowing the match to continue. While hesitant, the instance of Hannah paid off. For the rest of the round, Elyse tried to finish off Ferguson but the veteran just simply kept avoiding Levesque.

The bell rang signifying the end of the round.

Judges easily give it to Elyse by a wide margin.

Round 06:
Both stables are hard at work on their girls but it’s just a patch up job that either could hope to do. The intermission comes to an end and the bell sounds as both girls get up to get back to work. At this point, Elyse’s hair is drenched and Ferguson’s hair is soaking just showing how hard these girls had been going at it.

Due to the last round, both girls are cautious. They fired from long range but Hannah was getting more hits as Elyse couldn’t move as well as she could at the start of the match with her ribs bruised.

For the entire round, they fought at range and when one closed in, the other backed off. It was quite uneventful.

However, Hannah Ferguson did rack up more points and the Judges ruled that Hannah Ferguson won the round close.

Round 07:
Once more, an intermission. No one believed this match would go on for this long but here both girls were, trying to outclass their opponent. It was becoming a case of chess. Both girls continued to get tended to but eventually the intermission time ran out and the boxers stood up ready for another round.

Diving into last resort territory knowing that Elyse could possibly win if the match dragged out, the veteran rushed for the beautiful Canadian expecting her to be off guard. Instead, what she found was a fist pushing into her solar plexus this time and Elyse was nowhere near done. Her punches, which might as well have been like being hit by steel, smashed into the stunned Ferguson’s temple so hard that it threw her against the ropes. The veteran was in trouble.

Levesque wasn’t going to be satisfied with a TKO victory though, so before Ferguson raised her guard to cover her face, another hit slammed her back toward the center of the canvas. Now Hannah had raised her guard to protect her face and was occasionally trying to get a hit in on Elyse.

The crowd was roaring, well, except for the VIX fans, as Elyse took aim at Ferguson’s ribs and slammed multiple straights right into them to even up the bruising score. Going back upstairs, Levesque took more shots at the eye she hit earlier, swelling it up.

VIX fans started to boo while the rest of the arena drowned it out - it was becoming clear that Elyse was punishing Hannah Ferguson, no matter which side you were on.

The ref simply said “finish her off or this will be a disqualification,” to which Elyse responded “don’t say you didn’t ask for this.”

Levesque plunged another fist into the solar plexus before sending a missile of a haymaker that put Ferguson squarely back in the VIXENS corner. However, before she could finish it, the bell rang to give a reprieve to the virtually destroyed Hannah Ferguson.

Judges ruled it a complete shutout in favor of Elyse Levesque.

Round 08:
Intermission once more and Hannah was in the VIXENS corner looking as if she was already defeated. In the Queens corner, Levesque was getting her second wind after the shutout. The crowd was on the edge of their seats as no one expected this match to go as long as it is and while Elyse clearly had overwhelming strength, she also had her weaknesses that a veteran would be able to exploit.

The intermission came to an end and both girls were in their respective corners waiting for the bell. In short order, the bell rang.

They both slowly came out, Elyse looking for a repeat performance of last round while Hannah looking to redeem herself. Quickly, the two girls started trading punches to the guard but this time, Ferguson was locking her guard tight so Elyse couldn’t power punch her way through.

Arms, shoulders, jugs, tummy, they were all free game and Hannah got to work more than Elyse did. Trying to score up her arms to force her to lower her guard, Ferguson kept attacking Levesque’s arms to try and get through with the occasional attempted shot to the face. Eventually, Ferguson gave up on the face and focused on the arms and ribs until the round came to a close.

With all the hits racked up by Hannah, the judges ruled Hannah Ferguson the round, close.

Round 09:
While the two girls were in their corners getting prepared for the ninth round of this match, the crowd was cheering whose side they were on. You could hear a mixture of “VIXENS” and “ELYSE” as they were putting on a fantastic show. The chants didn’t stop either as the intermission came to an end; both girls rising to face each other: skin glistening in sweat and hair dampened from the prolonged battle.

Out of the gate, both girls were looking to put the other one away. With Elyse’s speed and flexibility taken away from her, she had to rely on raw power which she had plenty of. On the other hand, Hannah could rely on being a veteran and fighting methodically. She, however, couldn’t hit anywhere near as hard as Elyse and had to watch out for that..

Meeting at the center of the ring, face slamming missiles of punches went around Ferguson’s guard to hit her bruised cheeks. Elyse continued her assault with more punches to the ribs. When Ferguson dropped her guard, Levesque gave her another brutal uppercut which ricocheted her head against the boxing glove twice leaving her dazed once again.

As minute two was entered, Elyse rose her right arm above her head intending to finish the match with a final traumatic blow to the head but Hannah Ferguson took advantage of the wide opened Levesque and delivered a payload of a straight right below her belly button where the abdominal wall isn’t nearly as strong, bending Elyse over, before giving her a taste of what she’s been dishing out the entire match: an uppercut so hard to her chin that she fell backwards stunned. Ferguson quickly moves to a neutral corner.

1, 2, 3… Levesque rolls onto her stomach; 4, 5, 6… Levesque puts her hands down on the canvas as the crowd falls completely silent; 7, 8, 9… Levesque is on one leg; 10… Levesque is out!

Official Decision: Hannah Ferguson defeats Elyse Levesque via KO9!

Postfight:
Krysten jumps into the ring forcing Hannah Ferguson to make a quick exit believing she was about to be attacked by Ritter. In reality however, Krysten Ritter helped Elyse up and got her out of the ring. Krysten made sure no reporters could get to her as she was in no shape to answer questions now.

We’d also like to thank Lookout! Boxing for assisting with the quick organization of the event, and of course, to the Queens of Absolution for being absolute ballers when it comes their participation. Win or lose, their girls have definitely made a splash in the FCBA tonight, and we can only imagine the heights to which they’ll continue to climb!
