Pre-Fight: League of Mighty Women’s Amy Willerton will be making her first defense of the Queen of the Beach title on her home soil, or sand in this case, at the English Riviera as she faces Lioness Club’s Lily Aldridge for the second time. They faced each other in a boxing ring last year with Lily walking out as the victor. So Amy will be hoping to get a different result on the sand in front of her home fans to avenge that loss and keep her title, while Lily will be looking to repeat the result and win her first title.

The Queen of the Beach, Amy, addresses the audience first in the pre-fight press conference. “I don’t think anyone would have believed me back in 2019 if I said I will come back to England as a champion one day, but here I am as the Queen of the Beach! I took a one-year break and then LMW took a chance on me. I was given the chance to work with great coaches and I took that chance and worked as hard as I could to come to this day. I thank them all and I’m proud to keep representing them. Now, Lily is a good boxer and she defeated me last time, but I have improved since then. I will settle the score and I will leave her jugs up in the sand with the support of my fans here in England!”

Lily exudes confidence as she chuckles and then starts addressing the audience. “I don’t mind fighting in front of a hostile crowd, in fact I would be happy to crash their party! I wasn’t expecting a warm welcome in England anyway after defeating many of their precious fighters, which includes Amy by the way. Yes, she improved a lot and she is a good fighter, but I outclassed her in our last fight and I will show that it is still the case. I will take that Queen title off of her, whether she and her fans like it or not!” The press conference comes to an end with an intense, yet respectful stare down as both fighters keep things civil.

The temporary beach venue in South Devon is ready for the fight night. The ring posts are directly set up into the sand and both fighters will be going barefoot for this bout.

Amy enters the beach venue first to a huge roar from the crowd. She takes her time with her walk towards the ring as she enjoys listening to the fans chanting her name and she responds to them by pumping her fist and blowing kisses to them. Once she enters the beach ring, her coach Ali Landry brings her attention back to the fight as they go over some of the points that they worked on.

She is wearing a white and gold bikini set with matching gloves, while her hair is tied into a ponytail.

Lily comes out next with her coach Melanie Brown. There are some traveling fans that cheer for her, but she is mostly getting booed from the British fans as expected. She doesn’t seem to mind though, nor does she try to agitate them as she walks to the ring with a focused look on her face.

She is wearing a neon green bikini set with black gloves, while her hair is also tied into a ponytail.

Both fighters come to the center of the sandy ring to listen to the final instructions of the referee and then they touch gloves as they respectfully nod at each other. They are now stepping back to their respective corners and we are ready for 10 rounds of beach boxing action for the Queen of the Beach title!

Fight: Round 1: It is a slow start to the title fight as both fighters try to get a read on their opponent and not take big risks early on as they are unwilling to give an opening. Both sides throw short combinations, but nothing serious lands as it is more about finding their range and seeing how their opponents react. Amy is looking especially cautious out there, which is uncharacteristic of her fighting style, but of course it is her first title defense and lost to Lily in their first fight after giving her some big openings, so it makes sense that the British fighter wants to avoid making the same mistakes. However, the slow pace and the methodical approach fits Lily’s fighting style better, so she is taking control of the action as the opening round progresses. The American model has clearly found her range and rhythm as she starts to land those two-three punch combos consistently and forces her opponent on the back foot.

Lily is all smiles at the bell as she wins the opening round with a solid display, while Mel B tells her to keep up the good work during the break. On the other corner, Ali urges her fighter to be more active and to apply more pressure to her opponent without getting reckless.

Round 2: The fans were quiet in the first round after the slow start from their compatriot. However, they quickly come back to life with a huge roar as Amy opens the second round with a big hook. Lily partially blocks it, but she still feels the impact and starts backing off and switches to a more defensive approach. She tries to keep the British fighter at bay with defensive jabs, but Amy is pressing on in this round as she clearly wants to make a statement in front of her fans after her slow start. Lily is defending well with her guard up to mitigate most of the damage, but Amy is banging her arms with some power punches. Occasionally, one of the hooks slips the guard and lands hard, which causes Lily to step back and reset her guard. She is countering with some short combinations as well, but it is not enough as Amy wins the round wide and ties up the score.

Round 3: Amy is on the attack again to start the third round as she presses on with the crowd firmly behind her. Lily must be missing the slower pace of the opening round, but right now all she can do is to stay on the defense and try to slow down her opponent. It doesn’t look like Amy is going to slow down soon though as she pushes the pace and throws combinations in hopes to break down Lily’s defenses. She finds success early in the round by changing levels as she goes for the body with some shovel hooks and then switches up again and lands a big overhand that draws a loud cheer from the fans. Lily needs some time to recover after that impact, but when she does, she realizes that she needs to be more proactive if she wants to slow down Amy, otherwise she will just keep going backed by the crowd’s support. She starts looking for more counterpunching opportunities and goes for longer combinations when she finds them. Amy lands a few more stiff shots, but she ends up having to slow down and be more cautious with her attacks as her opponent starts to throw precise counters in higher volumes. By the end of the round, Lily brings the fight to a balance, but Amy still gets a narrow win with her early work and takes the lead on the scorecards.

Round 4: Both fighters switch back to a more methodical approach as Amy loses her rhythm and she doesn’t want to give Lily a lot of openings. Amy still lands some power punches, but Lily slowly regains control of the fight as she keeps tagging the British champ with one-two combos. As the round progresses, Lily adds some variety to her offense as well. She feints with a jab up top and then goes down to the land hooks to the ribs. She is definitely throwing her opponent off of her game and while she is not landing anything big yet, she starts to mark up Amy’s body with repeated shots. Towards the end of the round, Amy starts to lose her focus too as she struggles with her footwork on the sand, giving even more openings to Lily, who ends up winning the round and tying up the score again. During the break, Ali tries to get Amy to focus on the game plan and go back on the attack again as things are going in Lily’s way with the current status quo.

Round 5: The fifth round starts with a longer exchange as both fighters come out with an attacking mentality. Lily tries to press on with her advantage, while Amy wants to regain control of the fight as the fans chant her name, trying to motivate the Queen of the Beach. However, the queen is struggling on the beach right now and this longer exchange isn’t helping with it as she is just providing a stationary target for Lily to land her combos with high accuracy. Amy tries to use her power and answer with some big swings, but she is not setting her foot and she is having trouble finding the target with them. Finally, a double jab-straight combo landing right on Amy’s nose ends this exchange as the champ starts backing off. She is still swinging as she backs off, but Lily easily avoids them and then steps in for another one-two combo. Amy stumbles as she takes another step back and Lily pounces on her with a big hook. The British fighter almost goes down, but she regains her footing as she backs into the ropes. She is just trying to survive until the bell as Lily bangs her guard with repeated combos. The American fighter silences the British crowd as they are now watching quietly, fearing that this might lead to a knockdown or stoppage. Thankfully for the fans, Amy does enough defending and fighting back to make it to the bell, but their champ is not in a good shape with a bloody nose and a reddened midsection.

An impressive and dominant display by Lily in this round as she completely shuts down Amy and emerges as the clear winner of the round. During the break, the corner team works hard to patch up Amy, while Ali gives her a stern reminder that she worked hard to get to this point and that she owes it to herself to leave the ring still as the queen in front of her compatriots.

Round 6: The crowd is deflated after that dominant round by Lily and the American model carries that confidence into this round to finish what she started. She starts with a one-two combo to the face and blood starts to trickle down from Amy’s nose once again. The Brit won’t go down without a fight though and she starts swinging, but she is setting her foot properly this time and bang! She lands a big right hook that gets Lily’s attention. The American model slows down her advance and keeps her guard up high to not let her opponent get in another shot like that. She lands a double jab on Amy’s bleeding nose to fend her off, but Amy fights through it and switches targets to slam Lily’s ribs with a couple of hooks. She is showing the heart of a champion. An uppercut to the midsection drops Lily’s guard and a hook to the chin forces her to retreat. The Brit is gaining momentum and the control of the fight once again. As the bell rings, the crowd starts chanting Amy’s name once again as she is back in this fight. It is Mel B’s turn to try to calm her fighter down and talk about the tactical changes that Lily needs to make.

Round 7: We are getting into the later rounds, but both fighters are ready to get back at each other as soon as the bell rings. Amy puts pressure on her opponent early on and she slips a stiff straight that lands hard and busts Lily’s lower lip. The American fighter isn’t backing down though and she quickly retaliates with a one-two combo, going after Amy’s nose again. Now both fighters are bleeding and they are both swinging hard, hoping to knock each other down. Looks like Mel B told Lily to be more aggressive seeing that her more methodical approach wasn’t enough to knock Amy down. They stand and trade leather, both sides land some nasty body shots and check each other’s chin with some big hooks. It is turning into a very physical fight as they bump, push and pull each other with the referee having to separate them a few times as they tangle up. Towards the end of the round, they start dragging their feet on the sand, but they keep swinging. Lily lands a jab followed by a hook to the chin that wobbles Amy for a moment, but then the Brit just ducks down to avoid another hook and then she returns the favor with a couple of body shots. They keep at it until the bell and the referee once again has to get in between them and order them to their respective corners.

It was a wild round with both sides landing powerful strikes, but Lily did enough to edge her opponent and get a narrow win. It is surprising that we haven’t seen a knockdown yet with the way these two are going at each other, but if they keep this up, somebody will be going down. There is a lot of activity at both corners as they try to patch up their fighters and get them ready for the next round.

Round 8: Both fighters meet at the center of the ring as they seem to be focused on knocking their opponent out, but their movements are getting sluggish after that brutal round. After some misses and blocked shots from both sides, Lily goes to the body to find some success with a couple of hooks to the ribs that makes Amy wince. However, the Brit champ comes back strong with a lead uppercut that lifts the American challenger’s chin, which sets the follow up hook up top by Amy. Lily backs off as she looks hurt, but she is still able to avoid the next two wild swings by Amy, which could have knocked her down. Lily survives that scare though and recovers as Amy cannot land anything significant after that.

As we come close to the midway point of the round, Lily goes back on offense with a double jab-straight combo that snaps Amy’s head back. She tries to repeat the combo, but this time Amy ducks down and lands a massive overhand! Lily stumbles back with a blank stare and Amy quickly takes advantage with a left hook and a hard right hook to the chin, which drops the challenger on her back! Can Amy leave her opponent jugs up in the sand like she said she would? We don’t have to wait long for the answer as the referee takes a look at Lily, who looks to be out cold, and signals for the bell! It is all over!

Official Result: Winner via KO in round 8 and still the Queen of the Beach, Amy Willerton!

Post-Fight: Amy looks relieved after a hard-fought victory and she buries her face into her gloves for a moment, before turning to the fans and celebrates by pumping her fists in the air as the fans cheer loudly for her. As Amy blows kisses to the fans, Ali enters the ring and gives her fighter a big hug, congratulating her and telling her to enjoy this moment as she deserved it. On the other side, Lily slowly comes back to her senses and she is helped to her feet by Mel B and the medical staff. Of course, Lily is disappointed and a bit banged up, but she gets the thumbs up from the doctor. Amy comes over to check up on her as well and they shake hands as Lily congratulates her opponent. As the American model leaves the ring with Mel B, the fans show their appreciation by applauding Lily for her effort, which almost spoiled their night.

After getting her hand raised as the victor and still the Queen of the Beach, Amy takes the microphone to address her home crowd. “I said that I would leave her jugs up in the sand and at the end of the day, I just did that! Seriously though, Lily is a very tough opponent and she made me work hard to defend my title, but with your amazing support I’m still standing here as the Queen of the Beach! It was a fantastic experience to come here as the champ and make my first successful title defense in England, so thank you all!” She is clearly emotional after this win as she tears up a little, but she has a big smile on her face as she leaves the ring with Ali and blows a few more kisses to the fans on her way out the temporary beach venue.
