Intro:
We are live here in London's famous York Hall for what could be dubbed a "Clash of the Ages." In the sense you have two women at different parts of their lives. Rashida Jones will be turning forty seven next month will be looking to prove she still has a chance at moving up the rankings. Across the ring from her will be the debuting recently turned eighteen year old Dafne Keen. Who will start their 2023 off with a win?

Heading into the bout for Rashida, she is coming off two losses back in 2021. Sitting out all of last year due to her stable closing. She did go unbeaten when under management in 2020. Defeating Milana Vayntrub, Debby Ryan and Mila Kunis to show she is a fighter as well as a funny comedian/actress.

While Dafne comes into this fight with a little hype behind her. The Madrid born Brit of course known to most from her roles in "Logan" and the TV show "Dark Materials." With Millie Bobby Brown eclipsing all expectations of what a young fighter can do last year, can Dafne hope to have even a small percentage of that for herself?

Before the bout both women posed face to face for the cameras in dresses with boxing gloves on. Rashida standing proudly wearing a black dress with matching gloves, barefoot as she stared down at Dafne. Who wore a red dress with matching gloves. Her eyes staring right back at Rashida with no hint of fear for the older woman.

With the FCBA network after getting comments from both women in the corners they would have later in the night. Sitting on stools across from each other so they could hear what their opponent thought of them as clearly the network producers hoped to cause a little tension between them.

Rashida was the first to be asked for her opinions of the fight. She smiles as she says "well when I got the contract sent to me I will admit I didn't know what to think. We are not exactly competing for roles with our age gap. Everything I know about Dafne is positive. So I can't bad mouth her as a person." Nodding over to Dafne to show her some kindness.

She continues "but this is fighting. While I am old enough to be her mother. When that bell goes I will be her nightmare. Whether the people who signed this fight think I am too old and she will knock me out I don't know. I don't regret telling them that they are sorely wrong. I won't be thinking of our ages. I will simply be thinking of winning." Tapping the black gloves together as if to make her point that she is taking this fight serious, not there for a simple paycheck.

Dafne meanwhile taps her toes as she stares at Rashida with a hard look. When she is asked for her opinion. She replies "it isn't anything personal per say between us. When we have spoken before she has been kind, still I am here to prove myself. I know deep down she will look at me as some silly kid. When I am in her face bashing her around, fighting her toe to toe. She will learn to truly respect me. I want the Millie Bobby Browns, the Michelle Williams, all the great fighters in the FCBA. My journey starts tonight" standing up and waving at Rashida to bring it on. The older woman stands and nods with a smile. Neither charging the other, just showing that they are here to fight it out to the end. No one is taking a dive.

Fight night at York Hall. There's a few interested parties at ringside watching the fight. Ranging from the Girls Friday management. To the newly crown FCBA flyweight champion Millie Bobby Brown. Maybe scouting a future rival if Dafne proves she is any good at boxing.

First through the curtain comes Rashida. She walks down the aisle with her coach behind her. Getting a good response from the crowd as she looks relaxed. Used to fighting in front of a crowd and looking in good shape in her black sports bra with white trim, matching trunks and shoes, black gloves with her hair tied into a ponytail finishes off her look. Stepping inside the ring moments later, Rashida stretches as she shuts her eyes. Maybe picturing how the fight will play out in her mind.

Now here comes Dafne with a serious look on her face. Walking down the aisle behind her coach, who it turns out is the Girls Friday flyweight coach Ming-Na Wen. She taps her red gloves together as she looks keen to use them. Getting a loud cheer from some parts of the crowd. She steps foot into the ring wearing a red sports bra with gold trim, matching trunks and shoes, red gloves, while her hair is braided. She gives Rashida a death stare as she paces side to side in her corner.

The referee waves the fighters to them. Ming-Na is massaging the shoulders of Dafne to keep her loose. Rashida doesn't look too bothered by the surprise guest in the ring. Both fighters giving the other an intense stare as there looks plenty of pride on the line here. The touch of gloves isn't a soft one. walking to their corners. With the bell ringing to begin 10 rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:
At the bell both step out their corners with a firm look. Stabbing jabs as things start a little tentatively. Neither wanting to make a mistake out the gates. Rashida steps in with a jab/straight that lands on the forehead of Dafne. Who moves back a step and circles to her right before the older woman can set herself to throw power punches. Dafne being yelled at by her coach to not be afraid to mix it up when needed.

That seems to get Dafne to risk more as she dips down to work the toned body of her opponent with quick two to three punch flurries. Getting clipped back around her head before Dafne uses good footwork to move out of range. Skrimishes from Keen as she is wanting to use her quickness to make the fight take place on her terms.

As they enter the final twenty seconds of the round. Jones swings in a left hook that finds air as Dafne ducks under it. Maybe a little frustration from Rashida as she gets countered by an uppercut that knocks her back a step. Dafne pushing hard in the dying moments of the round with a double jab/straight combo landing square into the face of her opponent to knock her head backwards. The bell rings with Dafne nodding enthusiastically to her coach. While Rashida takes a breath to calm any nerves she might be having.

Round 2:
Rashida looks composed again after losing her cool a little before. Doubling up her jab to land it square onto the forehead of Dafne. Who is moving her upper body more to try to find ways to close the gap. Maybe getting a little one dimensional as she keeps working the body of Rashida with straight punches. Earning her more punches over the top to her cheeks.

Stepping in with a left hook, Rashida looks to be getting a head of steam behind her. Dafne finding herself being knocked back onto the ropes. Trying to fight her way off them as both women let their hands go. While Dafne has the faster hands. She can't generate as much power with her back to the ropes. Leading to Rashida being the one landing the power punches between them.

Needing to clinch up to Rashida. Dafne is finding out how the other side of a bout feels. Being on the back foot isn't fun and games. They are split up with Dafne standing her ground a little more. With both fighters getting cheered by the crowd as they exchange around the center. The round comes to an end with a solid response from Jones. Who taps her gloves together as she sits on her stool. Dafne getting her arms massaged as Ming-Na tells her that she has to keep thinking about how to change things up. Advice from the older head to her young protégé on show.

Round 3:
At the bell Dafne is quicker off the blocks. Taking the fight to her opponent as she starts to mix up her punches more. Making Ming-Na smile as she nods. Rashida though still is catching Dafne with a few solid hooks when the youngsters fists drop after her combos. Something that will need to be worked on by Dafne going forwards. With both fighters cheeks starting to be marked up.

Rashida lands a straight into the forehead of Dafne. With a left cross following as she gets back on top. Driving Dafne towards a neutral corner. Till the Brit dips down and clinches with Rashida. Both women grapple a little till they break apart with a little help from the referee. Dafne smartly moving away from the corner into space, resetting as Rashida maybe not quite quick enough to get off the mark as her foe.

With less then forty seconds to go. Rashida misses a straight over the crouching Dafne's head. Two hooks land under her ribs in response. With Rashida hissing as she clips Dafne across her head with a short right hook. Both trading in tight in the final moments. At the end of the round they return to their corners with the crowd whistling and cheering them both. Clearly both want this as effort is certainly not in doubt so far.

Round 4:
Pushing off their stools. Again Keen is the quicker off the blocks. Drilling in body shots around the abs of Rashida. A jab/straight knocks back the head of Dafne as Ming-Na yells at her fighter to keep her fists up when not punching. A short left hook catches Dafne under her right eye to make her back off and retreat more into her shell.

Into the second minute; Rashida is looking to find holes in the defence of her opponent. Giving Dafne a little taste of JMD tactics as she even digs in a few punches around the boobs of Dafne. When she sees a gap form in the guard of the younger woman. She slams in straight punches to knock her backwards. Forcing Dafne to clinch up with her.

They are broken up as Rashida is telling Dafne to bring it on. Maybe hoping for Dafne to make mistakes. The youngster doesn't fall into the trap so easily but is finding it hard to work her way back in. Instead it's Rashida moving Dafne around near the ropes. Both exchanging punches as their eyes are firmly locked. The round ends with Rashida again showing that she isn't here to give Dafne an easy win. She wants the victory for herself as she returns to her stool. Dafne shutting her eyes a moment as she curses under her breath. Showing a little frustration herself.

Round 5:
Resuming around the center of the ring. Both nearly clash heads early as Dafne charges inside to work. Tempers flaring a little as Rashida barks out swinging hooks. Dafne burying in some crisp punches around the breasts of her opponent. Wanting payback for her own tits being hit.

It looks a rookie mistake as Rashida lands a short right uppercut to knock back Dafne to her heels. Backwards goes Dafne as she takes two short right hooks to her cheek. Swinging back with straight punches that land on the lips of Rashida. Dafne is showing fighting spirit. PROBLEM FOR HER IS A LEFT HOOK LANDS ON THE EAR OF DAFNE, SENDING HER DOWN ONTO HER LEFT SIDE AFTER A STUMBLE!

Rashida yells "come on!" As she marches to the neutral corner. 1...2...3... Dafne turns to her front grimacing, 4....5...6.. pushing up to a kneeling position. Dafne has a shake of her head to clear some cobwebs. 7....8.. Getting up to her feet, Dafne raises her fists when asked if she is okay. The referee waves the fighters back together.

Rashida looking to finish the fight now. Hunting Dafne down but not landing a solid blow in the final forty seconds. Dafne showing her legs are solid under her. Though Rashida gives her a shove into a neutral corner with twenty seconds to go. Looking to unload on her opponent. The crowd is mixed in its response. The Rashida fans yelling at her to end it now. Dafne's are wanting her to rally. The bell rings to end the round. Rashida jogging to her corner with a little grin. Dafne meanwhile is asked how much she wants this. She tells Ming-Na "with everything I have, I wanna beat her" making the coach nod as maybe they were thinking of pulling her out of this bout to protect her if she was scared.

Round 6:
Both fighters resume with Rashida landing a few nice jabs. She is mostly grazing the cheeks of Dafne with hooks. The youngster dancing around her, looking for a way to strike back hard. Landing several jabs of her own as it becomes a little bit of a chess match.

Stepping in with a left hook that finds air. Rashida finds herself countered by a right hook that looks to lift her ribs slightly up. Rashida wincing as she takes a step back. Dafne sees her chance as her eyes light up. STEPPING IN WITH A STRAIGHT RIGHT THAT SHE PUSHES THROUGH WITH. DAFNE LANDS IT RIGHT IN THE LIVER AREA OF RASHIDA! WHO CRIES OUT AND IS OPEN TO AN UPPERCUT TO THE SAME AREA AS SHE BENDS OVER. DOWN GOES RASHIDA TO ALL FOURS!

Dafne smiles before the she looks a little startled as the referee reminds her to go to the neutral corner. 1....2....3.. Rashida spits out her gumshield as she holds her stomach with her right arm. 4....5....6... Rolling over to her left side, Rashida has a few tears running down her cheeks. 7.....8... Gasping as her coach shakes their head. 9....10 it's all over! Rashida is counted out!

Winner Dafne Keen KO Round 6:

After:
That's the debut win for Dafne. She raises her arms in the air and is beaming after spitting her gumshield into her right glove. Understandably her coach is a little relieved to see her win. Rashida certainly didn't give her an easy ride tonight. With Dafne getting a hug from Ming-Na Wen in her corner.

While Rashida's coach rushes into the ring to check on her. Applying an ice pack to her liver area to numb the pain. It takes about a minute for Rashida to feel up to getting to a kneeling position. Wiping tears away from her face after her gloves are taken off. She holds the ice pack with her right hand.

When Rashida manages to get to her feet. Dafne looks over to her after her own gloves are taken off. She asks for a minute from her coach. Who nods as she wants to see what happens. Dafne walking over with purpose to Rashida. The beaten fighter giving her a hard look as if not to try anything. Even if Rashida probably isn't in good enough shape to stop her.

Any fears of humiliations or attacks from Dafne are gone when she puts out her left hand. Rashida looks at the show of respect with a smile and a nod. Shaking the offered hand and telling Dafne "you fought hard. You have a bright future." Making Dafne smile with a nod of thanks.

Afterwards Rashida with help leaves the ring. While she is sore and lost the fight. Her supporters round of applause and cheers make her smile. Rashida waving to them with her left hand. Her coach smiles too as clearly they think she deserves the respectful reaction from the crowd. Though she will most likely be back in the gym Monday if the coach has a say in it.

In the ring meanwhile Dafne has the referee lifting her right hand in victory. She waves to her fans at ringside. Then stands hands on hips for the cameras. A few tears wanting to come as she tries to fight them off. They seem tears of joy as she wipes them away. Soon leaving the ring with her coach as Millie Bobby Brown is all smiles watching her. Maybe seeing a future of big money bouts ahead if their futures on screen and in the ring grow to the superstardom pundits believe they can.

Later in the night the Girls Friday and Dafne's social media account posts several pictures. The first is Dafne signing an exclusive contract with the Girls Friday stable with a smile aimed at the cameras. Then there's a picture of her in the center, Ming-Na to her right and Ivana on her left. All three smiling as it looks like Ivana might have had a hand in her signing. Question now is who is next for Dafne?
