SIX DEBUTS IN SEARCH OF AN ASYLUM: A NEW BEGINNING

BEFORE:

"I'm excited to get a chance against Meg," Daniella admits. "I mean, she's Disney, I'm Nick, so we both come from that background. She's gotten somewhere. I'm GOING to get somewhere. And, it's going to start with beating HER."

"Daniella may do very well in the FCBA," Meg says with a smile. "What she will NOT do is very well TONIGHT."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'Watch The Way You Talk', and here comes the singer of that tune, the lovely Daniella Perkins!"

McCarthy: "Who is a TYPICAL Dancing Hooker Opponent with NO FCBA wins!"

Tess: "Here's the part where we explain to Mac that, on this card, all the fighters are making their FCBA DEBUTS, meaning none of them has had an FCBA FIGHT, so they can't POSSIBLY have an FCBA WIN!"

McCarthy: "And, here's the part where I explain to YOU that I, Mac the Knife, HAD FCBA wins BEFORE my first FCBA fight..."

O'Dell (sighing): "And, HERE'S the part where I concentrate on that nice RAISE I got for doing another year of this. Perkins into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal a mint green number that gets quite the pop from the crowd, and that's 'BAAM' you hear behind us, which can only mean the singer of THAT tune, 'The Peapack Punisher', Meg Donnelly, is on her way to the ring!"

Cassie: "Meg had a very good 2022 and is looking to build on that this year. She definitely wants to start strong with a win tonight."

O'Dell: "Donnelly into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd popping as usual for Ms. Donnelly in that yellow number she likes. Ladies about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Meg. Mac?"

McCarthy: "NO FCBA wins. Donnelly!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Unanimous in the first and Daniella on the move as we get underway. No surprise, as the brunette beauty is plenty athletic. Meg, meanwhile, looking to cut the ring, step to, get her box on. Donnelly a nice combination there. Perkins ducks away and gets back to legging..."

Tess: "Meg has some reach here, and she's using it pretty well."

O'Dell: "Definitely is. She's gathering with that left jab. Squaring up and shooting it outside Daniella's head, forcing the brunette to dip away, keeping her in front of the blonde. That's some pretty slick stuff from Meg, who's getting the better of things at the moment."

McCarthy: "This kid is a tomato can. Kelly Ripa is like, a hundred, and SHE'D beat this kid..."

Cassie: "And, for those scoring at home, Ripa is just over two years older than MAC..."

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, SCABBO! That prune-faced has-been is at LEAST a decade older than ME!"

O'Dell (sighing): "Final seconds ticking away in what's been an action-packed first. Sharp exchange there, with Perkins landing a solid right hand. Another trade and the blonde gets the better of that one and there's the bell. Fairly close in the first, but it's Donnelly who takes the points and the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Into the second and Perkins again on the move. She's doubling down on the jab and circle now, popping that left, dancing bouncing, giving ground here and there, determined to stay in open canvas and not let Donnelly bring her to battle. Meg working the feet, but not able to square..."

Cassie: "Speed kills, especially at this weight, and you're seeing Daniella use that speed very well right now."

O'Dell: "No question about it. Brunette everywhere and nowhere. Meg having very little success range-finding with the left, not able to corral her rival with it like she did in the last round. Instead, Perkins is getting her terms, and she's building a very nice lead on those terms..."

McCarthy: "Just goes to show Donnelly's just another overrated Dancing Hooker..."

O'Dell: "Down the stretch in the second. It ain't broke, and Perkins isn't fixing it. She's continuing to work the feet and the jab, stopping to pop, then getting right back on her bicycle. Five seconds remaining. Quick flurry from Daniella and there's the bell. Not close this time. Perkins."

Tess: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Perkins on the move. Donnelly a bit more aggressive this time. She's stepping forward behind that jab, closing distance, cutting down the angles, making her more efficient at cutting off the ring. Daniella getting corralled here and Meg getting to work putting together punches..."

McCarthy: "Kid needs to fire back in here."

O'Dell: "Definitely does, but she's clearly uncomfortable trading, and the blonde is making her MORE uncomfortable by landing a lot of hard shot. Perkins tying up now. Meg shoves off and ROCKS DANIELLA WITH A RIGHT HOOK! Perkins GOBSMACKED and Perkins DOWN after a straight right hand!"

Tess: "That might do it..."

O'Dell: "Meg quickly to a neutral corner. Daniella down on her back, staring up at the referee. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Perkins rolling to her belly. Seven. Eight. To hands and knees. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! Daniella still on all fours as the count passes her by and it's OVER! And your winner by KO3 is 'The Peapack Punisher', Meg Donnelly!"

Cassie: "Nice adjustment. Nice effort tonight."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Meg Donnelly, and, Meg, her speed gave you some trouble at times..."

Meg (nodding): "She's super quick, no doubt about that, so you have to adjust to that. But, I had answers. I always do."

Tess: "Big year for you last year and a good start to this one..."

Meg (smiling): "Just the beginning. 2023 is going to be my best year yet!"
