SIX DEBUTS IN SEARCH OF AN ASYLUM: A NEW BEGINNING

BEFORE:

"The mistake they're making isn't finally giving me a chance up here," says Devin with a gorgeous smile. "It's doing it JMDD. That will NOT go well for Tate. Not at ALL."

"Here's what Devin's about to find out," says Tate with a smile of her own. "JMDD or no, she's no match for me."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Act Up' by City Girls, and here comes Instagram star Devin Brugman..."

McCarthy: "Ho Hum. Yet another typical Dancing Hooker Opponent..."

O'Dell: "Brugman wasting no time getting down the aisle and into the ring. She's helped off with the robe and the crowd popping HUGE for Devin in that white bikini. And, that's 'Vicious' you hear hammering through the arena, and that means 'The Calgary Crusader', Tate McRae is on her way to the ring..."

Tess: "McRae another of those girls who had a solid rookie season last year and wants to keep things going tonight..."

Cassie: "Tate won eight fights last year and she won them at light and welter and on the beach. Tonight, she'll debut at JMDD."

O'Dell: "McRae into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and Tate getting plenty of her own pop in that admiral blue number we've seen before. Ladies about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Tate. Mac?"

McCarthy: "NO FCBA wins. McRae."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Here we go and Brugman just coming right forward and going after Tate. McRae going to give some ground here. Not going to get into a slugfest off the opening bell. Brugman VERY aggressive, stepping to the younger brunette, working some body..."

Cassie: "Tate retreating in good order."

O'Dell: "Definitely is. She's working the jab, countering in spots, going to let Devin push the issue right now. Can't blame her. But, the result is that Brugman's having much the better of it in this opening stanza. Nice combination there from Devin, and it backed Tate up a step."

McCarthy: "This kid won't stand and fight! Typical Front Street nonsense!"

O'Dell: "Down under fifteen seconds left in the first. Brugman working forward as she has been the entire round. Tate fighting in counter. GOOD right by Devin that backs McRae up a step and there's the bell. VERY good round for Brugman, who takes the early 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second underway and DEVIN A GOOD RIGHT HAND! That one shook Tate and Brugman is ALL IN HERE! Older brunette letting the hands go, backing up the singer with flurry after flurry of hard shot! McRae definitely unsteady after that one and she did well to stay on her feet..."

Tess: "Just a GREAT keyhole right by Brugman..."

O'Dell: "McRae backing and covering as Devin calls in the artillery. She's sitting down on everything as she tries to end this thing right here. Tate up against the ropes now, guard high, putting the body on sale, and Brugman buying IN BULK, as she rocks the ribs and pummels the tummy..."

McCarthy: "GO RACK! This is JMDD! GO RACK!"

O'Dell: "And, on CUE, Devin goes RACK, banging away to jug, then going upstairs and back down. Tate taking the licking, still ticking, but Brugman's piling up the points and hurt as the final seconds tick down in the second. Good right from Devin and there's the bell. Brugman. Shutout."

Cassie: "And Devin has the 20-18 lead."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third underway now, and Brugman pushing forward. Tate giving a little ground, engaging in a fighting retreat. Tate seems to have the legs back under her now, but Devin's still the aggressor. GOOD right hand counter from Tate and there's another! McRae slowing Brugman down now..."

Cassie: "That will do it. A good solid punch right in the face."

O'Dell: "Ladies working at close quarters now, banging way in there, head, body, rack. This is what Tate didn't want to do early, but she's more than willing right now. There is some serious grinding going on at the moment, with everybody landing hard shot, mostly to the body."

McCarthy: "This is JMDD. It's going to get PHYSICAL."

O'Dell: "And, it absolutely has at the moment. Not a lot of artifice here. Nothing sloppy, but both women digging in and banging away, willing to TAKE a shot to give a shot. Some RACK work happening as the final seconds tick away. And, there's the bell. Close one, but Tate's on the board."

Tess: "And, she cuts the lead to 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins with Tate changing tactics. McRae moving now, using that athleticism, SNAPPING out the left jab, stopping Devin with it, then following on with hard right hands. Brugman trying to get forward and close, but she can't get it done. Tate getting space now, and making use of it."

Tess: "This is the thing with McRae, she's plenty sturdy at either light or welter, but she's more athletic than just about anyone in either division."

O'Dell: "No doubt about that, and you're seeing that now, as she bounces around the ring, stopping Brugman again and again with left jabs, and following on with hard rights. Devin landing the odd shot, but that's about all she can do at the moment. GOOD right from Tate there..."

McCarthy: "Brugman needs to slow down, work forward maybe with high hands."

O'Dell: "Tate picking Devin off again and again. McRae very quick, that left just SNAPPING out and back. Brugman a little frustrated right now. Can't seem to get anything going. Five seconds left. Nice combination from McRae and there's the bell. Tate takes this one wide."

Cassie: "And evens things at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "McRae showing that movement, popping out the jab, following with solid right hands. This is some really good stuff from Tate, who's taken control of this fight right now. Brugman wants to come forward and bang, but she can't get there. Instead, McRae picking her off again and again."

McCarthy: "This is JMDD! Get PHYSICAL!"

O'Dell: "Brugman trying to do that, but Tate not having it for the moment. McRae enforcing terms right now and SHE STAGGERS DEVIN WITH A RIGHT HAND! Brugman rumblin', stumblin', fumblin' around the ring! McRae backing her up to the ropes and going RACK IN A BIG WAY!"

Tess: "Ref looking in there closely!"

O'Dell: "Sure is! Tate PUMMELING Devin to head, body, and jug. Hup-hup now for the singer! Devin trying to clinch. UPPERCUT to the RACK by Tate and Brugman's knees wobble. Back to the rack. Devin just hanging on and DOWN SHE GOES! A short right hand and Brugman crashes past Tate's left shoulder and noses in!"

Cassie: "That's going to do it!"

O'Dell: "McRae to a neutral corner. Brugman not moving at ALL. Count at three. Four. Five. This is all academic. Six. Seven. Eight. Devin is OUT! Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO5 is 'The Calgary Crusader', Tate McRae!"

McCarthy: "She got LUCKY!"

AFTER;

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Tate McRae, and, Tate, a tough start for your JMDD debut..."

Tate (nodding): "Yeah. I wanted to kind of fight my fight and she wasn't going to allow that. Got all over me early. I just needed to settle down and get back to doing what I wanted to do."

Tess: "Is JMDD in your future?"

Tate (smiling): "Oh, yeah! Light. Welter. Beach. JMDD. All of it. I'm up for ALL of it."
