EURASIAN INVASION @ THE ASYLUM

BEFORE:

"I know that everyone thinks I don't have a chance," says Thylane. "But, I am about to prove everyone WRONG."

"She has plenty of talent," Chloe admits with a nod. "But. She's not the best bantamweight on the planet. But, she WILL be fighting her."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and 'Waiting For Love' by Avicci, and here comes a woman some have called the most beautiful in the world, French model Thylane Blondeau!"

McCarthy: "Well, those people apparently have never seen ME!"

Tess: "HERE we go..."

Cassie: "Truck, be ready with another headset. Mac's head's about to swell and BREAK hers again..."

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, BOTH OF YOU!"

O'Dell: "Drink up, boys, as the lovely Thylane climbs into he ring and is helped off with the robe. Crowd popping for Ms. Blondeau in that crimson number, and that's..."

McCarthy: "A horrible assault on my olfaction! Awful! Terrible!"

O'Dell (sighing): "That is 'Uh Oh' and the singer of that tune, 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet, is on her way to the ring."

Tess: "Bennet's been in the bantamweight title picture for some time now..."

Cassie: "And, she's definitely looking to get a shot to get those straps back."

O'Dell: "Chloe into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. Crowd, as always, appreciative of Ms. Bennet in that blue number she likes. And, we're about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Chloe. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Typical Dancing Hooker Opponent. NO FCBA wins. Bennet!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Three straight unanimous panels. And, the ladies begin things at gunnery range, not a surprise from Bennet, because, while Chloe can bang and scramble with the best of them, she's a VERY good boxer. Thylane showing some nice ability of her own, though, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Yes, she is. She's getting that jab out and back quickly, finding the target with it."

O'Dell: "Certainly not cowed by the competition, though she HAS been in against an elite fighter before, Alexis Ren, and she acquitted herself very well in that bout. Chloe moving the head and the feet, working the left, dropping in rights, measuring the French beauty."

Tess: "Thylane continuing to box with pretty well."

O'Dell: "Is at that. We're coming down the stretch in the opening round, and there's not much in it. Blondeau giving about as good as she gets here. Ten seconds to go. Sharp exchange and another and there's the bell. It's going to be by an eyelash, but it's Bennet in the first."

Cassie: "And Chloe grabs the 10-9 edge."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Into the second and we're on the same terms. Thylane showed some HEAVY hands in that bout with Ren, but those don't deter Chloe, who's been in there with hitters like Thorne, Michalka, and Kosarin. She's not afraid to take a punch to give one, but she's also plenty skilled at slipping them..."

Cassie: "Thylane showing an ability to do that, too. She's definitely learned some things since the Ren bout last year."

O'Dell: "No question she's better defensively, and that's important against a girl like Chloe, who can pick you apart boxing if you aren't careful. For the second round in a row, though, Blondeau holding her own with Bennet at range, and that's good stuff from a girl in her second FCBA fight..."

Tess: "Sure is. Bennet's lost three fights in six years and every one of those was a title fight."

O'Dell: "Down under fifteen seconds to go in the second. Good exchange there and both fighters landed a solid right hand in it. Ladies circle. Reset, snap out the jabs, and there's the bell. Very, very close again, but, this time the French beauty gets the points."

McCarthy: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third verse, same as the second. Ladies at range boxing and there's not a lot in it. Both beauties clearly comfortable on these terms, so nobody's changing anything...at the moment. But, you have to think that's going to change at some point as we go along, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Someone will get an advantage and the other girl will have to adjust. Count on that."

O'Dell: "For the moment, though, nobody interested in doing that. Continuing to work at range and on very, very even terms. GOOD exchange there and another! Plenty of action right now, but no one gaining much of an advantage, just as we've seen in the first two stanzas."

Tess: "Both girls showing some power..."

O'Dell: "Definitely are, but nobody hurt. Ladies showing they can take a shot, that's for sure. Final seconds ticking away in the third. Nice trade there and a SOLID right hand landed by Blondeau and there's the bell. Razor-thin margin once again, but it's going to go to Thylane."

Cassie: "And, the French beauty goes into the lead 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins on the same terms with the two brunettes working the jab at range. Quick combination from Blondeau and another. Thylane stepping forward now, backing up Chloe. Combination again from the Frenchwoman. And again! She's got Bennet on the back foot now."

McCarthy: "And, HERE'S the change..."

O'Dell: "Definitely is, because Blondeau is getting MUCH more aggressive now. She's all OVER Chloe, who's backing and covering now as the younger brunette takes command here. Bennet countering here and there, but that's about all she can manage at the moment..."

Cassie: "This is some REALLY great stuff from Thylane."

O'Dell: "And, down the stretch we come. Blondeau in control, as she has been since the opening seconds of this frame. SOLID right from Thylane backs Chloe up again. Blondeau hooks the body, back to the head and there's the bell. BIG round for Thylane, who takes it wide!"

Tess: "And, Blondeau extends the lead to 39-37."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Thylane right after Chloe and Bennet NOT HAVING ANY! Chloe firing back in a big way and we're GOING AT IT in the center of the ring! And, Blondeau not going to go down this road with Bennet. She's back to range boxing, and Chloe willing to continue on those terms."

McCarthy: "Like I said, sometimes you have to be willing to trade..."

O'Dell: "And Chloe's never been shy about that. At the moment, though, we're back to boxing and we're back to very even terms. Both brunettes showing plenty of skill. Hands going out and coming back. Punches being set up, lots of good defense being played at the moment as well..."

Tess: "And, again, boxing with Bennet is not easy to do..."

O'Dell: "Down to the final half minute of this stanza, and again there's not much in it. Both ladies turning up the heat, looking to grab the points here. Good exchange there and a SHARP right hand from Bennet and there's the bell. Close, but Chloe's getting the points."

Cassie: "And, Bennet cuts the lead to 48-47."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Ranged boxing to start the sixth. It's been a very competitive fight to this point as we've seen plenty of good stuff from both fighters and Blondeau has definitely impressed holding her own with a former champion like Bennet in just her second FCBA fight..."

McCarthy: "I'd BE impressed if Bennet weren't a Dancing Hooker..."

O'Dell: "GOOD right from Thylane and CHLOE STAGGERS HER WITH A RIGHT HAND! Oh, Bennet BLASTS a rejoinder home and Blondeau is GOBSMACKED! Chloe letting the hands go now, backing up Thylane and the French beauty CRUMPLES TO THE CANVAS!"

Cassie (singing): "Turn out the liiiigggghhhhtttssss. The party's ohhhhhverrrrrr..."

O'Dell: "Bennet to a neutral corner. Thylane unmoving on her back, and it wasn't one punch but the sheer VOLUME of punches that put her there. Count at three. Four. Five. It's going to be academic. Six. Seven. Eight. Still no movement. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO6 is 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet!"

Tess: "Nothing lucky about THAT."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Chloe Bennet, and, Chloe that was some fight. Was she better than you thought?"

Chloe (shaking her head): "No way. Definitely knew what I was getting in to. She held her own with Alexis Ren who's a champion lightweight in her FIRST FCBA fight. She was going to be even better tonight, and she was. This girl gets management, she can win titles here."

Tess: "You've been at the top of the Front Street bantam division for a LONG time, but it's getting crowded. Ariel and Billie are fighting up here, Lili won the title last year, Sophie's top twenty, Olivia and Peyton are looking very good..."

Chloe (laughing): "Let me stop you right there. The more the merrier. But, the best bantam at Front Street and the best bantam in the world are the SAME girl...and you're talking to her."
