Elisabetta Canalis vs Alessia Uva

BEFORE: Italian model Alessia Uva couldn't quite secure herself that lightweight title shot losing to Robin Holzken in the official eliminator but she can focus on the domestic market again as she long wanted to knock Elisabetta Canalis out: "It's time to pass over the torch, Eli and Manuela Arcuri had their moments but they have to move over once and for all. I knocked Manuela out already and now it's time to do the same with Elisabetta. She's long overdue for a beatdown!" (giggles).
However Canalis isn't ready to "move over" for anyone and her kickboxing regime makes her a dangerous opponent for anyone brave enough to underestimate her. The veteran model from Sardinia realizes the new talent like Alessia think they can rule the world but sometimes the action inside the ring doesn't quite match the intended script!
Elisabetta Canalis wears a brown & silver bikini set & red gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a curled ponytail. Alessia Uva wears a black bikini set & white gloves. Long black hair tied in a custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1:
Elisabetta comes out swinging and connects with the younger model's face with impressive intensity while Alessia doesn't seem bothered too much by all those hits and methodically picks her compatriot off before blasting her with the most powerful of the early punches. Elisabetta tries to follows through with her attacks but bounces off Uva's forearms and moves away from the striking range a little too slowly which allows the younger woman to crash in with another productive effort. Alessia takes over in the final minute and drives more head shots on target with Elisabetta finding this pace too hot to handle and she's verbally upset about as both women exchange some explicit words before the referee finally separates them.
Round 2:
Canalis delivers a jabbing burst to set up a quick exchange in the center of the ring where she snaps Alessia's head back but she's unable to find that power punch to cause visible discomfort so the younger model eventually takes over command and outworks the veteran with very accurate jabs followed by a left/right combo on each temple. Elisabetta stumbles back and barks in anger when Uva nails her with another looping hook on the nose. The action takes place upstairs and the supreme execution allows Alessia to drive the older compatriot onto the ropes where she finally drops down to punish the midsection leaving Canalis in a spot of bother come the bell.
Round 3:
Another quick attack from Elisabetta to open the round but Alessia blocks her off and lands immediate response over the top which prevents the older brunette from making any progress. Meanwhile Alessia keeps blasting her up the middle and enjoys a dominant spell that forces Canalis to seek a clinching stalemate but even that goes awry when the younger model whacks her on the stomach and drops a rare shot into her cleavage. Elisabetta stumbles onto her heels and swings wide of the target while Uva slams her on the nose to cause a blood spillage. Ugh! The crowd gets behind the Milan-based model and Alessia doesn't need a second invitation to pound the stranded opponent back to the ropes where Elisabetta has to swing for the proverbial fences but she still gets outworked wholesale and cuts a very dejected figure at the bell. Oh, yes the damaged nostrils are definitely a problem too!
Round 4:
Elisabetta tries to land some heavy shots into the fellow brunette's face but her desperate charge meets a superior response as Alessia whacks her over the top and drops more vicious punches to send the veteran from Sardinia into a complete tail spin. There's no letting off here so Alessia keeps going until she backs the older model onto the ropes and resumes her nasal bleeding half-way through the round. Canalis hopes to catch a lucky break but she's unable to land a proper power punch and gets overrun by Uva's striking to the point se stumbles forward with a whimper and takes a wild uppercut on the jaw that DROPS HER FOR THE COUNT late in the round. Ugh! Alessia taunts the fallen compatriot which delays the count and saves Elisabetta from instant demise as she gets up at the last second and the clock expires before Alessia can double down on the wounded prey.
Round 5:
That late knockdown in the fourth put the writing on the wall since Canalis is unable to fully recover from it as we start the fifth; she's slow to get up and simply gets battered from the onset with Alessia not holding back whatsoever until she drops the veteran foe again. That takes her about twenty odd seconds and Elisabetta succumbs to the head-hunting pressure, a well-timed hook on the nose eventually does her in. She crashes onto her knees and sits down on her heels late in the count to indicate she's had enough of this contest. Game over. KO5 Alessia Uva!!!
AFTER: The Italian lightweight scene is ready to turn the page and while Elisabetta can still throw a mean punch, she is destined to struggle against opponents several years her junior. It's just how this stuff works and Alessia lets her know about it as the two models exchange more bitter words after the official verdict is announced.
