BEFORE
Torrie is at the Podium. I don’t know Charlize very well. I have only talked to her a couple of times at events. She has always been gracious and kind with one exception and that was on the night of September sixth 2003. You can say we are friendly acquaintances We both broke in in 1999. By 2003, we were both stars. I was the Middleweight champion. I fought her in a non title fight that night. She was always a lightweight. I was always a welterweight. She made a joke of the fight and embarrassed me by KOing me in three. Well that happened and I hope to do the same to her tonight. Don’t misunderstand me. I admire Charlize and yes, She is the greatest of all time. Why am I going to beat her? I have had 78 fights. She has had 469. I was knocked out or TKOed 29 times. She has been knocked out or TKOed something like 83 times. She has taken a huge amount of punishment. I’ve seen her recent fights. She has won, but the bell saved her. Bissix, Govich and Kajlich all her her ready to go, but the bell came to her aid. I’m twelve pounds heavier. I have had one fight this year. She has had seventeen. This will be her third fight of the month. That’s got to be tiring. It would for me, but maybe Charlize can handle it. She has before. No matter, I just hope I don’t hurt her too badly tonight. Charlize is in her dressing room watching Torrie on the TV. Charlize “You know she made some good points tonight. I not fooling myself. She is a great fighter and she can hit. Don’t let that losing record fool you, just look at those four titles. Well, lets go.”
THE FIGHT
Torrie is in the ring. As usual Charlize always makes her opponent wait of her for her to enter the ring for a minute or two. Torrie is in a brown bikini with black gloves and boots. Her hair is long hanging down her back. As for as Charlize nothing changes. She is in a red bikini with red gloves and boots, her Hair in a pony tail. The two meet in the center of the ring for the instructions that Charlize has heard 469 times. They touch gloves and then Torrie hold out her right hand and she and Charlize shake hands
THE FIGHT
Round 1. Torrie leaves her corner expecting Theron’s usual opening to three fast right jabs. Instead Theron lands a left hook to the jaw. Torrie quickly backs up to avoid the follow up. Charlize is quickly back in with the right jab and a left cross. Torrie takes it and lands a left-right to Theron’s midsection. She want to go the old rule “Kill the body. Take those great legs away. Charlize is concentrating on Torrie’s head. Torrie is managing to block many of those punches while punching away at the Charlize’s body. No serious damage is being done to either but Torrie is having the better of it. In Theron’s corner Upton tells her that she need to step it up. Torrie won the round.
Round 2. Charlize is out of her corner swiftly and she meets Torrie not far from her corner. Theron lands a left-right to the Torrie’s jaw. Torrie returns the punches and they are toe to toe. Torrie slowly drives Charlize back towards the center of the ring. This is the fight Torrie wants. She can’t match Charlize’s speed, but she can equal Theron’s punching power and even do better. Right now it’s Theron’s legs that are dictating the fight. Charlize starts moving in and out and landing punches to Torrie’s head and backing out before Torrie can respond. It’s classic Theron. Theron banks the points by a long shot. In Theron’s corner she is told to keep it up. In Torrie’s corner she is told she needs to short cut Theron’s moving, A couple big punches should to it
Round 3. The fight is becoming a chess match. It’s Theron’s superior speed against Wilson slight power advantage. Charlize quickly moves in on Torrie who is expecting it. An overhand right stops Charlize. Left cross, right cross another left. It’s Torrie’s punching Chalize around the ring, but she can’t land the big one. The body attack seems to be slowing Theron down some, but she is still moving well and costing Wilson precious seconds tryin to keep her punching range. It’s Torrie’s aggression that impresses the judges. The round end with the judges giving Torrie the round In Torrie’s corner she is told to keep it up. In the other corner, Upton is telling Charlize she is not going to win this fight if she doesn’t start punching for real
Round 4 The round opens with Charlize being slow out of corner, not what Wilson was expecting. Theron wants Wilson to come to her. Wilson makes the move and there is the Theron jab. Right jab, left jab one after another are driving Torrie back across the ring. Charlize is stepping up the power landing one cross after another. Wilson is able to get in a blow or two with enough power to keep Charlize from getting set to throw the big one. Wilson is just leaning back in the ropes blocking what she can and getting off a occasional right. Charlize is having a field day but not coming close to getting Wilson out. Is she punching herself out?. In Theron’s corner Upton tells her that was a good round, but she was embarrassing Wilson, never a good move. Stop showboating and bring on the heavy guns. In Wilson’s corner they tell her Theron had her chance and she blew it. Now go out and finish her.
Round 5. Activity seems reversed. Charlize is slow out of her corner while Wilson is out quickly catching Charlize on her side of the ring. It’s Wilson who now drives Theron into the ropes. It’s Wilson raining down punches On her opponent. She catching Charlize is her head and in her body. Torrie is just punching, concentrating no particular part of the body. After a minute in a half, Charlize seems to be in distress. She desperately punches back, enough to slow down Torrie and giving her a chance to get out of range while she catches her breath. Charlize uses those legs to keep away from Wilson until the round ends
Round 6. Once again it’s now Theron quickly out of her corner but Wilson meets her in the center of the ring and they begin fighting in a phone booth Charlize is getting the best of it. Wilson tries to break it off but Charlize stays with her landing punch after punch to Wilson’s head and body.Wilson is in trouble. She taking a lot of punishment. How much can she take? Charlize wants to finish the fight now and loads up that right when a round house right crashes into the right side of her head just below the ear.She stops the punch and a round house left crashes to the same place on the left side of her head. Theron is in shock. Her color has turned pale, her eyes look vacant. Wilson lands left cross, right cross another left and another right. She has Theron on the ropes. An uppercut knocks Theron’s head back over the top rope. The bell rings. Theron stands there. She is out on her feet. She doesn’t know where she is, but follows Upton’s yells her corner. She gets there with fifteen seconds left. Enough for a couple sniffs of ammonia. Tess tells Neve that they need to throw in the towel Neve tells her it ain’t going to happen. Tess yells at Neve. They have to stop the fight. Charlize is out of it. Neve reminds her Charlize doesn’t quit, If she loses she will go down fighting.
Round 7. Torrie watches Charlize come out of her corner and thinks “Well I got to do what I got to do” She moves to the center of the ring and waits for Charlize. Charlize gets close and throws a round house right that doesn’t come near Torrie’s head.Torrie rotates her body and guts the blonde with thunderous right. Charlize doubles over clutching her body, her mouthpiece dangling from her lips. A right uppercut sends Theron back into the ropes. A right cross sends her mouthpiece sailing across the ring. Another uppercut lands. Charlize seems to take a step and then crashes to the canvas. She’s face down, spread eagled on the canvas at Torrie’s feet. IT’s OVER..The referee counts to six and waives the fight over and calls for the doctor. He raises Torrie’s hand in victory, but she doesn’t move. Tess yells at Neve “I told you”. Neve responds “Shut up or I will have the Wiz find you a two year gig in Angola” Torrie stay’s in the ring while the doctor and the corner bring Charlize around After about six minutes they get Charlize to her feet. Giving a sigh of relief Torri goes over to Charlize and gives her a big hug and whispers “Sorry”
Torri Wilson beats Charlize Theron with a savage knockout round 7
AFTER The two are side by side at the press table. Charlize looks good thanks to the make up artist Neve always brings.
Charlize: “I guess you can say I lost this fight big time. I’ve watched Torrie over the years and you don’t win those welter and middleweight titles unless you can hit. I knew what I was getting into, but the result was worse than I expected. If you wondered, I have been examined and X-rayed and I didn’t suffer anything a but a bad headache. Torrie was the better woman tonight. That’s something I can’t deny
Torrie: You don’t know how it feels standing over the Greatest of all Time laying at your feet and realizing you just knocked her out cold. It’s a feeling I won’t forget. I don’t know any fighter who can lose as well as Charlize. Let me rephrase that. I don’t know any fighter that can be as gracious after losing.
Tess Valmore. I’m working for Boxing World at this minute. Torrie ended your winning streak at twenty nine. Doesn’t that depress you just a little
Charlize: I don’t count how many fights I have won straight. It just makes you think you are better than you are. I’m going to repeat and seriously mean it. I am not going to claim the win streak. You will never find it in my list of accomplishments. That honor should go to Amanda. She won something like 24 facing top competition. Me, I have fought my age group some very good fighters, but not the quality of Amanda’s. You know today managers invent titles and hold tournaments so that fighters can claim something under their name. I don’t like it and will not be involved
Blonde Magazine. Torrie said you embarrassed her in knocking her out in three, twenty years ago. Tonight, she gave you your worst beating in a long time. Do you think you two will go for the best of three
Torrie: Charlize will have to answer that question. I’m willing and not that busy
Charlize; I don’t know. Right now I have fights booked in 2024 and am in negotiations for more to fill next year. Torrie and I are 48, but now a lot of fighters are going into their fifties. Who knows when we will give it up. But let me say that another fight for the best of three is a distinct possibly Well. now Torrie is probably going out and have a good dinner. Me, I’m going home and have a couple more Tylenol |
