Andrea Botez
(21, 5’3, 3-2 FCBA, Free Agent)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse
BEFORE:
It’s Maddie Ziegler’s turn to try and crack the Botez buzz, with her stablemate Avril Lavigne attempting that same feat barely a month ago, and paid the price for her hubris. Miss Botez is perhaps the most exciting thing to hit the FCBA since sliced bread, and her prospects only seem to grow and grow with every appearance in the ring.
Of course, the hype has been present for countless other girls who have come before, and very rarely have they all proven their worth of salt. Miss Ziegler is banking on that probability in this CBAD match-up, vowing to do what Avril couldn’t before:
"I can't really comment for Avril on what went wrong in HER fight with Andrea, but after watching it on tape like, 10 times, I think she underestimated Andrea's power and size advantage and didn't fight smart,” Maddie says first from her seat at the press table. “I'm bringing a different approach tonight and I'm the one with size tonight, so I think I'll be able to get some revenge for our team tonight. I ended 2023 on a disappointing loss so hopefully I can start 2024 with a good performance and get some momentum going before my fight with Dove at the end of the month, which is going to be a huge one for both of us."
And there you have it, folks. You can’t get more respectable than that from a Doll’s mouth, but Botez is already looking back, equally smug in her expression, not at all happy that Ziegler has chosen to discount her performance against her stablemate.
"I'm still really hyped about Maddie accepting my challenge so quickly, I didn't expect to be fighting her less than a month after my win but here we are, so...thanks Maddie!” Andrea beams from the table, before continuing. “Beating Avril got me a ton of attention in the FCBA and only drives me to get even better. I worked my ass off these last few weeks to prepare for Maddie and I can't wait to start already. I feel like I'm even better now than I was versus Avril and that's bad news for Maddie. My awesome fans are going to enjoy this one because I'm going for a knock out. I wanna see Maddie sleeping."
Stronger words indeed and that forces a reaction from Ziegler moments later, when the two fighters meet on stage for the official staredown. It’s not looking too good for the newcomer Botez, who’s sporting a three-inch height disadvantage against the younger and more experienced Dollhouse blonde, and Maddie does all that she can to emphasize her advantages, turning her chin up and posing with her fists comfortably at Andrea’s chin level. Botez, to her credit, isn’t looking too intimidated, confidently striding straight up to her and posing with her own cocked fists trained at Maddie’s stomach and base of her chin. Both women then separate moments later but not before refusing to shake hands.
A day later, we’re back in the Staples Centre and in front of a sold-out crowd, an amazing feat indeed given there’s only ONE fight on tonight’s card. Botez is doing last-minute warm-ups in her corner, that signature bright red sports bra and short black tights hugging her tight body, with a pair of red gloves on each hand, her brown hair braided. Across the ring from her, Miss Ziegler has gone for dark blue sports bra and electric neon green short tights, blue gloves and dark brown hair in a ponytail.
Both ladies are merely awaiting the opening bell, and with a wave of the referee’s hand, HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!
ROUND 1:
Maddie’s calm and confident as usual, circling rather than marching right in. She initiates with jabs but not too many, eager to put the rookie in her place but also conscious of how this “rookie” managed to put away a former Flyweight champion in under six rounds last month. As a result, the early minute is filled with lots of dancing and blocking, both girls preferring to feel each other out before committing to an assault all-out. Fine by Botez, who is also getting used to her in-ring legs. She trades leather with the younger blonde, and though she’s got some training in the in between, she will need to get used to exchanging fire with someone three inches taller, and as an extension, also with a longer reach. At first, this advantage allows Maddie to land her fair share of jabs to Botez’ face, her reach resulting in stiff shots straight to the forehead or into the nose, tagging her over and over again. But Botez growls through the pain and still keeps advancing, and eventually, her patience pays off when she bashes her own fist into Maddie’s cheek and then takes the momentary advantage to swerve another hook in and off her ribcage, drawing an outraged grunt from the Doll. Maddie got out of the way a little too slowly, and pays the price for it a couple more times, having dismissed the first few blows glancing off her body and arms as beginner’s luck, to her own detriment. Wide round to Botez is a rude wake-up call for the younger blonde, who couldn’t respond in time to Botez’ rapidly expanding lead!
ROUND 2:
Botez continues to be the aggressor, but lo and behold, Ziegler’s more than ready for her this time. Sure, the Doll employed her reach advantage in the previous round but that didn’t win her too many favors, with Botez making up for the deficit in terms of better speed and a hungrier advance, the rookie throwing caution to the wind and charging Maddie her at the most inopportune times. Ziegler, however, has learned to read her foe’s intentions, and rapidly backs away at the first sight of trouble, all the while peppering Botez to the face as she comes in hot. It works, with Botez eating much leather to her face and only landing glancing blows of the Doll’s arms and body. Ziegler punishes her back relentlessly, frequently sticking that left jab into all parts of her face and head, showing the crowd how a veteran fighter does it. Bell rings and it’s a closer round compared to the last, but it’s Miss Ziegler who holds the cards now. Botez is seen rubbing her cheek and smiling through the growing, throbbing pain on her way back to the corner.
ROUND 3:
More of the same, with Botez still not listening to her corner’s advice and looks determined to rush Ziegler down. It’s not a good strategy, especially against someone like Maddie, who’s becoming more and more well known for her counter-punching and strategic control of the ring. Here, she doesn’t disappoint either, easily side-stepping a wild swing from Botez before tagging her on the cheek, which jolts her head to the side with a groan. Botez wobbles slightly but she’s still got fire in her, and the brunette swings right back with a couple of low hooks that try and snag the tummy, but Maddie has already walked back a few steps to avoid them. Botez takes more of a beating towards the second half of the round, getting stumbled backwards by a few more left-right combos that sting her lip and stun into the nose. Still, it’s a testament to the Canadian’s resilience that she just keeps. on. coming… shaking off whatever pain and then letting more hooks riiip forwards, hoping to just score ONE such lucky break in order to break the bank. Close round to Miss Ziegler at the bell, who effectively evens out the scoreboards. But she’ll need to be extra cautious going into the next rounds if it means Botez can take more hits before being denied her prize.
ROUND 4:
Botez showing surprising agility and ring awareness for a newbie, stays away from Ziegler in the first minute and stuns her repeatedly with stray shots to her face. Well, Maddie ain’t making things easier for herself either, keeps on walking into those punches, thinking that her foe is on the backfoot after having lost two rounds in a row. She couldn’t be more wrong, with Andrea simply regrouping at a distance and trying her own hand at some counterpunching tactics. Maddie takes another stiff jab to her nose before she too decides to fall back and circle, and unfortunately for the Doll, her return fire for the remainder of the round ain’t enough to edge back the advantage, with her punches and combos simply hitting the arms. Botez is getting into this boxing thing, apparently, her confidence growing in spades especially after her earlier win against Maddie’s stablemate (KO-ing a former champion will do that to you, of course). Ladies exchange fire in close range in the final seconds of the round, both with fists landing and thudding into both face and body, but Botez again gets the better of the blonde when she mixes in a hook into the combo, catching the Doll on the chin to daze her slightly. Maddie finally realizes she’s got a fight on her hands, rubbing her chin with uncertainty when the bell rings.
ROUND 5:
Ziegler stays at range again, having learned her lesson not to get too impulsive. It seems to work for now, with Botez’ punches flying into her arms instead, with the Doll able to block and weave when she’s at a safe distance. Botez instead gets treated to several facial hits, her nose crunched in, her lips bunched up later on by another swift one-two combo that Maddie throws in and chases after, before she quickly moves back again. Botez growls with frustration at the superior tactics of the younger blonde. Her punches are just landing with less effect and frequency, and worse, she’s taking fire back, with Maddie waiting to block and block, before shocking the brunette with heavier straight hands to the body and arms, each time pushing her back. STILL Ziegler chooses not to close the distance, opting to take things slow and steady. She pushes Andrea towards the ropes with a steady stream of fire but allows her opponent to get away this time by not storming in all the way. Botez is breathing hard but the time the bell rings, but grateful for the brief respite. She’ll have another crack at cracking Ziegler’s defenses in the next round, and for now will have to contend with another loss on paper.
ROUND 6:
Girls circle, trading leather to the face once they get in range. It’s uncharacteristic of Maddie Ziegler to play it so cautious this late, however - she’s tap tap tapping at the arms, of course using her jabs to seek out potential holes in Andrea’s defenses. But Botez is looking for a bigger prize and while she takes several stiff-looking shots to the face early on, the smaller girl ROARS back with an overhand haymaker that SMASHES into Maddie’s face! OUCH!! Not looking good for the Dollhouse blonde, whose head gets twisted to the side, then sent the other way by a follow-up hook that lands lucky! She goes stumbling awkwardly off to the side, her eyes wide and wondering what the hell hit her! AND HERE COMES BOTEZ, following her all the way to the ropes! Poor Ziegler punch-drunk, barely has time to grab onto the top rope and spin around before she takes another hard SWIPE across her face, her tummy getting pounded on next by Botez’ as her left red glove sinks into the Doll’s midsection right above the belly button, folding the younger girl in half with a groan before ANOTHER deft hook BLASTS her cheek and MADDIE CAN’T HANDLE THE HEAT! Carmen Electra’s top prospect getting spun about along the ropes, looking slack-jawed and unsteady and gets ROCKED with a stiff hook to the cheek and that’s it! Ziegler CRASHES down to the canvas in a heap on her side before rolling to her back, spread eagled, eyelids fluttering as her mouthpiece flops out of her mouth! WOW! What a shocking KNOCKDOWN for Andrea Botez, who might just proved the world she is the real deal!
Botez immediately pumps her fists and lets out a roar to the crowd, smiling as she struts back to a neutral corner to await the referee’s count. Maddie, however, looks to be out cold, having first collapsed on her side but then rolling over onto her back near the ropes, arms sprawled limp on the mat above her head as the referee glances at the flattened Dollhouse star, that KO’ed expression on her face tells him all he needs to know as he WAVES IT OFF!!! It’s over! Good LORD, Miss Andrea Botez just put yet another top Dollhouse star out of commission in front of thousands of stunned fans! Poor Maddie’s motionless and out cold! Bring in the medical team!
Official Result: Andrea Botez defeats Maddie Ziegler via KO6!
AFTER:
If we had any doubts left before, they have been put to rest tonight! Andrea Botez IS the real deal and It's hard to remember the last time we’ve seen Carmen Electra this understandably distraught, the Dollhouse CEO just witnessing her most prized young prospect getting brutally knocked out by a free agent rookie…and that CANNOT feel good folks!
Miss Botez can hardly believe it herself, the Chess Boxing badass jumping up and down while circling the ring with her arms raised, grinning from ear to ear as her sister Alex runs into the ring to celebrate this massive win with her, the two sisters bear-hugging each other and jumping up and down for joy!
“Maddie is one of the best upcoming young fighters and I wont lie and say I wasn’t worried at all before tonight…” Andrea speaks to reporters, still panting as she wipes the sweat off her chest with a towel.
“People didn’t give me much of a chance in this fight but my coaching team did an amazing job preparing me and giving me the confidence to come here and kick her ass. I knew I’m stronger than her and could overwhelm her with aggression and power if I get the chance….and I’m glad it worked out. Anyone else wants to try her luck with me, I’m mostly free… so come on, hit me up, don’t be shy girls!” Andrea playfully giggles in a post-fight interview. “
“These girls just can’t deal with this little goblin’s energy and firepower.” Says big sister Alex, who proudly stands right next to her victorious sister. “I mean, did you SEE those final 20 seconds? She ragdolled Maddie like in a video game! I hope she’ll be OK. Seriously….Andrea’s simply too much for most people, and not only in boxing!” Alexandra chuckles, patting her little sister on the head before the two make their way out of the arena to loud fanfare, high fiving the fans after gifting them with now TWO of the biggest FCBA upsets in recent memory.
Carmen Electra and the Dollhouse team refused to comment after the fight, choosing to quickly escort Ziegler out of the arena instead. The young Dancer has managed to make it out on her own two feet after about 15 minutes of recovery in the ring, earning her plenty of cheers despite her loss tonight, but Maddie’s mind seemed to still be too foggy to notice, looking out of it and choosing instead to quickly disappear behind the curtains and live to fight another day.
With Maddie now suffering two straight defeats at the young hands of Bassinger and Botez, Carmen Electra will have her hands full attempting to orchestrate the right combination of fights to ensure Ziegler gets back on track and remains in title contention after tonight’s disaster...but first, Maddie will have to do her best to recover and prepare herself to fight another top young FCBA star as her big fight with Dove Cameron is less than a week away! This fighter's schedule is not an easy one folks!
As for Andrea Botez? Someone sign her already and get this talented lady some more girls to demolish! What is everyone waiting for?!
