Intro:
We kick off the first round of the Diamond Boxing Tournament here tonight in Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena (aka Sydney Superdome) with ACB welterweight champion Jesinta Campbell hoping to do her country proud. This is the ACB champions first night in an FCBA ring.

She takes on Alexandria Morgan, an American model with a point to prove as she only has one victory to her name, when you fight the likes of Hannah Ferguson and Eden Cohen in your last two fights, well you can't say her schedule has been too easy.

With it being the first round the fighters were interviewed at the arena by the FCBA Networks Alicia Atout. Who first caught up with Jesinta as she came into the arena with her coach Nikki Visser to her right holding her bag, while Jesinta has the ACB title over her right shoulder as she wears a green dress with matching heels.

Jesinta smiles warmly to the camera, it's Nikki though who speaks to Alicia. Nikki says "look we have entered this tournament not just for ourselves. Jesinta represents the ACB as one of the new pillars that holds the organisation up. So when she wins this tournament I hope that people will finally give credit to the ACB for building some of the best fighters in the world up. When Jesinta wins, I hope whoever the FCBA champ is at that time has the guts to fight her." Jesinta walks past Alicia without acknowledging her as Alicia just nods and when they are out of view, shrugs her shoulders.

While Alexandria gives Alicia her thoughts in the media area. She is wearing a red tank top with black leather pants and black high heels. Alexandria tells Alicia "I know I haven't set the world on fire in the ring yet. This is my moment to show everyone that I can be a great in this division. I haven't had anyone really push me as a fighter, this is my opportunity to show I belong" fists clenched at her sides as she really means it.

She then points at the camera with her right hand as she says "Jesinta frickin Campbell better not think because we are in her country that I am afraid of her. I am fired up and she is going to learn to fear me." Shaking hands with Alicia as the interviewer wishes her good luck. Alexandria marching off looking ready to fight someone then and there.

Fighting time! Jesinta is first out with Nikki to her left. The ACB title isn't on the line but Jesinta proudly wears it around her waist to show off. The crowd is roaring for their national hero as Jesinta waves to them with her green gloves. She is wearing a green sports bra with gold trim, matching trunks and shoes, hair tied into a ponytail. Jesinta steps into the ring with Nikki removing the belt and Jesinta walking to the center to blow kisses to each side of the ring before returning to her corner.

Alexandria comes out to at best a mixed response. She doesn't look like she cares as she has her coach following behind her. Wearing a stars and stripes coloured set of trunks probably not helping the mood of the crowd towards her. She has a navy blue sports bra and shoes, red gloves and her hair is braided. Climbing into the ring, Alexandria stretches her arms as she has eyes firmly on her opponent.

Both march to the middle of the ring for the final instructions. Going nose to nose as there is plenty of pride between these two. Neither seems to blink during the staredown. They quickly swipe gloves with their opponent before jogging to their corners. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
The crowd is chanting for Jesinta, cheering especially loud already when her early punches land into the face of Alexandria. Who fires back with her own to boos. Alexandria slipping some punches to land her own into the face of Jesinta, looking to try to out box the ACB champion. Jesinta though comes back with several crisp jab/straights into her chest to make her have to think about it.

A sweeping left hook catches Campbell as she goes to the body with her right. Alexandria steps in with an uppercut that surprises the national fighter. Jesinta is driven back to the ropes with a quick flurry of punches to her face. She needs to give Alexandria a shove to her chest to get out of danger.

Problem for Jesinta is that Morgan is keeping on the front foot. Campbell lands some solid single punches but she is being outworked by the American. Alexandria grinning as the bell rings, enjoying being booed as she knows that means she has a good round to start the fight.

Round 2:
The ACB Champion comes out with more sting behind her jab as she steps in behind it. Both trading stiff punches as they open up more. Alexandria trying to land more power punches, she misses as Jesinta steps back and counters with a nice right cross square into the face of Alexandria to knock her head back.

Jesinta is getting the cheers back as the crowd watch her smack Alexandria through her mitts with two and three punch combinations. Alexandria needing to dip down and go back to work around the torso of Campbell to try to ward her back.

Both women trading in close as Jesinta takes the inside challenge from Alexandria. Regretting it when an overhand left smacks on her cheek as Morgan drives into her afterwards to pin her back to the ropes with seconds to go. At the end of the round both women stare hard at each other before they walk back to their stools to get cleaned up.

Round 3:
Exchanging stiff jabs to each others faces. Jesinta is slipping some of the bigger punches coming her way, landing crisp counters in return to snap back the head of Alexandria. A right lands flush on the forehead of the American before landing a left hook on her chin to make Morgan back off towards her own corner. Where Alexandria is pinned down as Jesinta switched up her targets nicely to show her hand speed and technical skills.

Pushing Jesinta off so she can escape out her corner. Alexandria lands several straight punches back into the face of Jesinta as the Aussie is a little too aggressive. A left cross catching Jesinta across her face to turn her head. Back goes Campbell now as she is being forced back across the ring towards the ropes. Jesinta needing to grab hold of Alexandria to force the referee to step in to split them up.

They fight on with Jesinta dipping under a straight to land a right into the body of Alexandria. She lands a follow up left hook to the jaw of her opponent as Alexandria covers up more tightly. Final seconds seeing Alexandria pressed into the ropes. At the end of the round both walk back over to their corners with determination written across their faces.

Round 4:
Alexandria coming out quicker as she looks to take the fight to her opponent. Jesinta needing to move around the outside part of the ring. The American trying to take the fight to her opponent. With both slamming punches square into each others cheeks and chests trying to push each other around.

In the second minute Jesinta catches Alexandria to her cheek with a right hook after slipping a straight. She digs in several body shots to make Morgan grunt and back up to the ropes. Swinging back up top with hooks till Alexandria pushes her back to get into space.

Less then a minute to go, Alexandria lands a straight onto the chin of Jesinta before landing an uppercut to push her onto her heels. It's Alexandria's turn to push the pace as Jesinta covers up. Jesinta trying to swing back but getting caught around her cheeks with hooks.

The bell dings to end proceedings with both women gritting their gumshields as sweat drips off their brows. Jesinta is being told by Nikki to not let the occasion get to her as the crowd is creating an electric atmosphere for her. Alexandria meanwhile shakes her head as she is annoyed she can't seem to keep Jesinta pinned down for long.

Round 5:
Alexandria is again looking to take the fight to Jesinta, there is a few worried faces in the crowd that Jesinta isn't able to pressure her American opponent at this moment. Around the outside part of the ring goes Jesinta after taking a jab into her chest and a straight on her forehead. Alexandria smiling as she holds the center of the ring.

But she can't get too cocky as a double jab smacks on her lips when she slows up a little. Jesinta showing her pride to step in to exchange with Alexandria. A shove to Jesinta's chest opens the Aussie open to a right hook on her jaw to put her on the back foot to boos.

Under fifty seconds to go; Jesinta shows her experience hot to get flustered as she dips under a right hook to land a short right into the belly button of her foe. Overhand left follows to make Morgan take a step back. Both going toe to toe soon enough near the middle of the ring as the seconds tick away under the bell rings. Both have a little swelling around their cheeks as they sit on their stools. The crowd noise has dampened.

Round 6:
Resuming around the center of the ring. They exchange stiff jabs before Alexandria looks to step in but misses with a right cross, Jesinta stepping back and then switching back to attack with a straight into the forehead of Morgan to knock it back. Jesinta using the opening to smack Alexandria with a left hook across her temple to make her legs wobble.

Alexandria finding herself being caught more as her guard is definitely opening up. A double jab opens her up to a right hook on her temple as her legs shake. ALEXANDRIA DOESN'T SEE AN UPPERCUT THAT LANDS ON HER CHIN TO SEND HER DOWN TO HER BACK!

That brings the crowd back to life as they roar. Jesinta tapping her gloves together as she jogs to the neutral corner. 1....2....3....4... Alexandria shakes her head as she rolls to her front. 5....6... Alexandria grabs the ropes nearest her after a short crawl forwards. 7....8....9.. she beats the count barely. Fists raised as she tries to show she can fight on.

The referee waves them back together with Alexandria trying to fire back. Problem is she is getting hurt when hit. A double jab makes her go back onto her heels. Soon enough Alexandria is bashed back into her corner, leaking punches at will. IN COMES THE TOWEL FROM MORGAN'S CORNER! THE REFEREE SEES IT AND WAVES THE FIGHT OFF!

Winner Jesinta Campbell TKO Round 6

After:
Jesinta jogs back to her corner so she can mount the bottom ropes. Arms in the air as she yells "f**king come on!" As she is relieved to have won this contest. Her supporters chanting "Jesinta! Jesinta!" Repeatedly. Nikki gives her a warm embrace when Jesinta hops back down. Both women fighting back tears as this means the world to them.

Of course Alexandria is feeling down in the dumps right now. She has to be helped to sit on her stool as she is stumbling to show the towel being thrown in was a good decision. Even as Alexandria seems shocked it happened as she sits and asks why. Her coach telling her to save her from more punishment then was needed. It could have also helped her long term prospects in this event. Taking a bad beating here might have put her firmly behind the 8 ball for her tournament chances.

Both women get cleaned up and when it is time, they walk to the middle of the ring for the final result to be announced. Alexandria still a little wobbly on her feet. While Jesinta gets her left hand raised in victory to a massive cheer. Jesinta nods to Alexandria to show her respect for a hard fought clash. Alexandria ignores her as she walks off gingerly. Needing help out of the ring.

Alexandria isn't seen to really have a chance in most people's minds to win this tournament. Still she has the skills and toughness to be a headache to opponents, while this could be a hell of a shop window to get herself signed up to a roster. This was far from a bad performance to start her campaign on.

In the ring Jesinta does a lap of honour blowing kisses to the fans. To represent the ACB and Australia in general means so much to Jesinta, so to start this tournament with a win in her home country clearly is a dream for her. Hope far can she go will be intriguing for most people. Only one person has actually beaten her in her career and she isn't in this tournament, could Jesinta prove the dark horse to win it all?
