Intro:
Final bout of the first round in the Diamond Boxing Tournament. Two possible favourites to win it all meet. Lorena Rae and Antje Utgaard both need to put their right foot forwards and make a statement here in Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena.

This bout has the added excitement of Antje being the first person to take part in their second Diamond Boxing Tournament. Last time around she finished seventh out of the eight fighters. Well this time she has management as she is back in the firmly setting of Front Street Boxing.

Before the bout Antje spoke to Alicia Atout in the media area. Antje said "God I am so excited. To be back within Front Street is amazing. It was an early Christmas gift getting the phone call and contract to re-sign with them." Fittingly she is looking like a kid on Christmas with the big smile on her face.

She is then asked about the tournament and her opponent. Antje answers with all honesty "I have unfinished business here. I embarrassed myself last time I was in this event. People said I'd win it all and I nearly finished last. This time around I have Neve (Campbell) to keep me focused. Lorena is a solid fighter but once her chin is tested she will be staring up at the lights." Winking at Alicia before she heads off.

Meanwhile it's the Black Eagle Boxing stable manager/coach Gina Wild who speaks to Alicia in their locker room, Lorena is busy stretching to warm up as Gina tells Alicia "Lorena is ready for this. We have been working on her fitness as this isn't a sprint. To win this you have to be ready to take a beating to win it all."

Gina walks over to Lorena and pats her back as she adds "Antje has already proven she can't handle the pressure. Having the old man and his gang of harpies behind her won't change a thing." Lorena looks a little sheepish hearing Gina saying that, knowing that the Front Street stable has plenty of fighters to come after her if Gina pisses them off.

Fighting time! Lorena is out first with Gina to her right. Both walk down the ring with a serious look knowing how big a statement a win here would be for them. Lorena climbs into the ring wearing a white sports bra with black trim, matching boots, white trunks with a black eagle badge on each side of her legs, black gloves and her hair is in a ponytail. She nods to her coach before bouncing on her toes.

Antje is out next with her coach LeeLee Sobieski behind her. Antje is smiling as she looks excited. She climbs into the ring wearing a red sports bra, matching trunks and shoes, white gloves as her hair is tied into a ponytail. She gets her shoulders massaged as LeeLee says she has got this.

Walking to the middle of the ring. Both women look each other over as both know they need to go through their opponent if they are to be classed as a favourite to win it all. They bump gloves with their foe before walking back to their corners. Once ready the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
While height wise they are the same, physically they are different and that translates early on to their different styles. Lorena looking to stick and move as she moves around the middle of the ring. Antje meanwhile is looking to land a heavy handed punch early on. A few sweeping hooks from the blonde shows her intentions to put on a show. It is Lorena landing the cleaner punches in this bout so far.

Antje is told to get her jab going; taking heed she uses it to set up a nice straight onto the nose of Lorena. The German fighter soon finding herself being pushed back to the ropes, Antje landing piston like punches into the belly button of her opponent to make her groan out. Lorena needing to push her to the face so she can escape back to safety.

But Antje is the one dictating the pace after a slow start. Ramming home more punches flush to the face of Lorena to snap her head back. Lorena trying to stand her ground as she even sneaks in some JMDD tactics with shots to her opponents jugs. Antje though is bashing her around her face and getting her towards the ropes repeatedly.

At the bell they both get a rousing cheer as the crowd can sense this could be a good one. Antje is told by her coach to not get lax with her jab. Lorena meanwhile has Gina telling her to not be afraid of Antje. Wanting her girl to show the American who owns the ring.

Round 2:
Lorena doubles up her own jab early on, mixing up where she is landing it as Antje isn't having it all her own way as she'd hope. Still Antje does land some solid straight punches in return as they box around the ring. Lorena giving up a little ground but staying away from the ropes with nice footwork.

Stepping in with a straight that just misses. Antje finds herself open after Rae sidestepped to her left to a right cross to her jaw. Antje eats a left hook to her lips to make her bark out in pain. Lorena lands a four punch flurry to back off her opponent to the delight of her coach Gina. Antje needing to soak up more pressure on her arms before she can land a jab back into the face of Lorena to stop the assault she was under.

Still Antje is struggling to have the same impact she did in the last round. Lorena boxing smart and showing aggression to keep Antje from getting her feet planted for bigger shots. The round ends with both women getting wiped down as the crowd whistles and cheers loudly these two stunners.

Round 3:
Pushing off their stools to resume. Antje is working the body more of Lorena, that results in more punches landing around her face as both these beautiful models are trying to grab control of what has been already a tough bout. A jab catches Antje on her cheek but she lands a right hook in reply on the jaw of Lorena to make her groan as her head is twisted around.

After the hard fought opening minute. Antje lands a jab before a right cross onto the face of Lorena. That makes the Black Eagles fighter cover up more tightly and allows Utgaard to step inside to work the body with hooks, even giving some pay back for the shots to her own boobs by her opponent earlier in the fight.

Lorena smacks in a left/right hook to show her bite. Antje sticks in close and lands an uppercut to send Lorena back into the ropes. Where she pins her down as she swings around her guard and to the body. Lorena looks somewhat relieved when the ding of the bell sounds. Gina barking at her not to get bogged down on the ropes. While Leelee is trying to keep Antje focused, Antje listening intently to the advice with a nod.

Round 4:
They exchange around the center with Antje trying to keep the pressure on her foe. Lorena starts to make it uncomfortable for her with holding and hitting tactics. Of course the referee isn't happy with that as she tells off Lorena and warns her she keeps doing it, points will come off her. Lorena responds by landing a crisp double jab on the nose of Antje.

The German fighter is holding off Antje better now as the blonde has marks over her cheeks. Antje still is having success when she can close the gap. Problem for her is Lorena is shoving her back and moving quickly back into space to work from. Slamming her fists into the face of Utgaard to the delight of Gina.

A lunge by Antje misses as Lorena sees it coming and sidesteps to her right. A left slams across the cheek of Antje before a right hook lands on her lips to make her retreat back. Antje covering up as Lorena looks to drive her back with a flurry of punches aimed at her face. The bell rings with Antje tapping her cheeks to show her annoyance at herself as she marches to her corner. Lorena meanwhile isn't getting excited by her success this round, knowing she is in a tough fight.

Round 5:
Both women push off their stools to fight on. Things getting a little scruffy with shoving from both. Antje landing a few overhand punches as she bends down slightly to close the distance between them. Lorena backing off firing double jabs back into her forehead as they are battling hard for control.

A left cross catches out Lorena as it lands on her nose to cause some blood to trickle from her nostrils. Lorena finding herself pressed into her own corner, hearing Gina in German yelling at her as Antje pounds her belly to make her groan with each clean hit. Both clinch up with sweat dripping off their brow. Referee pushes them apart with the women locking eyes in a tense stare wanting to prove they are the alpha in this ring.

Back at it they go with both letting their hands go. Flurries being exchanged by both women till they nearly clash body to body. Crowd whistling and cheering as they grapple to the ropes. The referee breaks the up with LeeLee heard yelling at Antje to keep her head. The round soon ends with Lorena wiping her nose before Gina can clean it up. Antje meanwhile looking frustrated, maybe hoping she'd blast out Lorena to prove she deserves to be back in the Front Street stable. LeeLee is telling her to not get worked up as she sees the tension in her fighters shoulders.

Round 6:
Lorena looking to come out more quickly with two punch combos opening up Antje to her face. Antje dipping down and pounds in a few straight punches to the chest and belly button of the German star to make her grunt. Again it's another hard start to a round as these two are very motivated to prove a point.

A right cross by Lorena lands on the forehead of Antje to snap it back. Lorena follows up with a three punch straight combo into her opponents face. Antje being herded around the perimeter of the ring as Lorena is switching to throwing more hooks then just straight shots. Antje not taking it laying down as she lands her punches back into the face of Lorena to smack her head back when she can land flush.

Late in the round Antje deflects a straight to land one of her own. She is coming back at her opponent now with a few solid hooks under the ribs of Rae to make her grimace. Lorena nudging her back before they start trading toe to toe up until the bell. Coaches working to wipe down their fighters as this fight looks very close to call on the scorecards right now.

Round 7:
Lorena starting well with her jab leading into a crisp straight. Antje responds by ducking under a jab to hammer in a harpoon like right into the body of Lorena. Who looks a little winded as she bends over. Uppercut soon follows and Lorena looks hurt as she is rocked backwards!

Trying to hold off Antje, Lorena is getting caught though with hard shots around her guard. Lorena tries to hold but is shoved back with two hands on her chest. RIGHT HOOK LANDS ON THE CHIN OF RAE! DOWN GOES LORENA TO HER FRONT AS SHE CRUMBLES!

Antje yells "come on!" As she is fired up walking to the neutral corner. 1....2....3.....4... Lorena groans as she turns her head to the right. 5....6....7... Lorena is being yelled at by Gina to stand as her words before the bout are coming home to roost against her. 8....9....10 Lorena can't beat the count!

Winner Antje Utgaard KO Round 7

After:
This wasn't the statement probably Antje wanted to make. Still she has shown that she can take the tough tests in front of her and win. Antje walking back to her corner as she gets a big hug from Leelee. Who tells her "I am so glad you are back in the stable." Looking proud of her fighter as clearly Leelee might have been one of the loudest voices about bringing back Antje to Front Street Boxing.

Lorena needing to be checked over by the ringside doctor and Gina. The coach looking sour to say the least as she stares daggers at Antje and Leelee. Once Lorena is helped up to her feet and over to her stool, Gina starts to really focus on her as she checks how she really is.

Both women are wiped down as the crowd applaud both women's efforts for this clash. Lorena looks glum of course as this wasn't how she wanted the tournament to start for her. Antje meanwhile looks proud of herself for starting this journey on top.

Lorena is helped out the ring when she has her legs fully back under her. She walks to the back slowly with a shake of her head. Gina meanwhile looks like she has a rant in mind for her fighter but is saving it for back in their locker room.

In the ring Antje gets her right hand raised by the referee. She nods to the crowd as they cheer her. Leelee tapping her on the back and telling her "this is just the beginning" with a wink. Confident that this second chance for Utgaard will lead to real success. Antje looks like a large weight has been taken from her shoulders.

Soon they leave the ring together. Antje did win one fight her first time in this tournament it should be stated. So will she crumble like the last time or will the influence of Front Street Boxing behind her turn her career fully around? It will be one of the most interesting stories to follow throughout the tournament.
