Intro:
Alice Goodwin has a new stable behind her and while her first fight under their banner fell flat, she is looking to get a victory finally over Hilary on her third attempt. These two met back in 2020 for the first time, has four years changed anything or can Hilary continue to prove to be the better fighter?

Both women gave their thoughts on this bout to the media. First up Alice spoke to the FCBA Networks Alicia Atout as she headed to her stables locker room. She tells Alicia "it's going to be interesting being back in a locker room on fight night. The hustle and bustle of being around others focusing on their fight and that support from those who have fought earlier. Can't wait to get in there." Smiling looking excited.

Asked about Hilary, she visibly groans as she replies "look she has beaten me twice. I can't exactly shout about how much better then her I am can I? I'll show my improvement in that ring." Nodding to Alicia before she marches past her to go to the locker room.

Hilary meanwhile speaks to Alicia in the media area. She tells the interviewer "last year finished on a sour note. I have taken time out to enjoy myself with my family to calm myself down. Now I need to get my focus back on the ring." Looking serious as she knows how a bad run can ruin your career.

She says to Alicia "I guess my stable is using me as a measuring stick for the Diamond Boxing Tournament participants again. I hope they don't see me as a measuring stick for all these wannabes. I have beaten Alice twice, what's to gain beating her again?" She sighs before finishing "but I am going to beat her once again to show her stable what a mistake they made." Walking off towards her stable.

Fight Night! Alice is first out with her coach Natascha McElhone behind her. She marches down the aisle waving to the fans to make some noise. Getting into the ring wearing a black sports bra with white trim, matching trunks and shoes, black gloves and her hair is tied up into a ponytail. She taps her gloves together as she paces in her corner waiting for her opponent.

Out comes Hilary now with her coach Rebecca Romjin to her left. Hilary is wearing a white sports bra with black stripes down the sides, matching trunks and shoes, black gloves, while her hair is tied into a ponytail too. She steps into the ring with an annoyed look on her face as she looks over to Alice.

They walk to the center of the ring. Referee going through their instructions while the girls stare each other down. When asked to touch gloves, Hilary bashes hers down on top of Alice's before she turns to return to her corner. Alice looks pissed at that lack of respect, Natascha telling her to keep her cool when she is back in her corner. Once everything is ready the bell dings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Both women step out to fight with eyes firmly locked. Hilary drills in several jabs flush to the face of Alice. The English girl deflects a jab to land a left hook up top. Alice stepping in close to work the jugs of the taller woman to try to get her upset. They work away on the inside with Hilary nudging back Alice to try to get her out her face.

Hilary lands a short right hook around the ear of Alice. Looking to work her back towards the ropes with several clean shots to her face. When Alice is near the ropes she dips under a right hook to come back over the top with an overhand left on the chin of Hilary to twist her head. Alice driving back her opponent with piston like body shots before going back over the top when Hilary's guard dips down.

Final thirty seconds Hilary has to try to fight her way off the ropes she has found herself pressed against. Both fighting hard as Alice keeps the heat on her opponent. The bell dings with both exchanging a one word insult before walking to their corners. No doubts about how much Alice is motivated for this one.

Round 2:
Fighting around the middle of the ring. Alice stepping in to work the torso of her opponent. Hilary stepping back near the ropes, catching out Alice with a right cross square into her face before she moves to the left of Goodwin to keep away from her right.

Hilary starting to get her rhthym going with her punches aimed at the face and chest of Alice. Who finds herself being moved around the perimeter of the ring. The tempo going up a notch as Hilary is outworking Alice around the ring.

Late in the round Alice manages to block a straight. Landing a counter left into the chin of Hilary before landing a right hook on her jaw. Alice stepping forwards to force the action back to the middle. Where they slug it out in close up until the bell rings to end the round.

Round 3:
Trading stiff single punches to start the round. Alice trying to push her way on the inside as they fight at midrange exchanging more flurries to try to grab control of the action. An uppercut catches out Hilary as it slams into her chin to knock her head back.

Hilary soon finding herself pinned back into a neutral corner after Alice drives forwards. Alice digging her toes into the canvas to fire in hooks. The American groaning out when some of them land right under her ribs. Hilary needing to grab hold of her in a clinch to force the referee to step in to break them up.

Once they resume Hilary is doubling up her jab as that barrage she was under has reminded her how dangerous an opponent Alice can be. Alice getting caught around her cheeks with short hooks as Hilary moves around the outside part of the ring. The round ends with Alice getting a smile from Natascha as they look confident, Hilary looks to be focused now.

Round 4:
Pushing back out their corners to resume. Both women's cheeks are starting to have a bit redness around them as more power is coming behind their punches. Alice drilling in more body shots as she looks to move back in closer. Hilary meanwhile steps back and lands a straight into the face of the English fighter to knock her back a step.

Landing more double jabs as she looks to get on the move, Hilary is making Alice look frustrated as the smaller fighter is struggling to land more then single shots from the outside. Hilary landing a few counter punches to add to the annoyance of Goodwin.

Before Rhoda gets caught out late on with a straight on her lips, that is followed by a short left hook under the ribs of Hilary to make her hiss with a wince. Hilary backing off and throwing single punches back to try to keep her foe back. Alice looking to keep the heat on, causing more fiery exchanges between them. The round ends with both women looking fired up as they head to their corners.

Round 5:
Both women are slugging it out more on the inside as Goodwin is keeping on the front foot. Hilary trying to stand her ground more as punches are flying. They end up clinched up as Alice bumps body to body with the American. Referee needed to split them up as they grapple.

Once they resume Alice is quick to stab in a straight to the chest of her rival. Head nearly landing on the chin of Hilary as she steps in with hooks again being her main weapon against her long time foe. Hilary gritting her gumshield, pushing off Alice and landing a straight into her face.

They exchange toe to toe to the delight of the crowd. Again things get scruffy as Alice steps in and they end up clinching. Ending up near the ropes with the referee stepping in to push them apart. Another hard fought exchange just before the bell rings to end proceedings. They walk back to their corners with sweat dripping off brows.

Round 6:
Resuming with Alice getting caught early on with a straight on her lips, another left across them drawing blood as her bottom lip is split. Hilary can't get comfortable though as Alice slams in her punches back around the stomach of the American to make her grimance.

A left hook lands near the eye of Alice as both are opening up. Hilary slamming in a flurry to knock her back onto her heels. Alice needing to clinch up to slow down the taller fighter. Hilary trying to press her body against Alice to pin her against the ropes, referee needing to step in to break them up with fury on both fighters faces.

Back at it they go with Hilary holding the center of the ring. Alice trying to match her but Hilary is landing the cleaner shots. The round comes to a close with both women walking back to their corners with eyes locked across the ring. Coaches wiping them down with the crowd whistling and cheering for both women.

Round 7:
Exchanging around the middle of the ring, Hilary looking to try to bust up the lips of her opponent. Alice deflects a straight and lands a counter right into the stomach of Hilary, causing the American to bend slightly looking winded. A LEFT HOOK TO THE EAR SENDS HILARY DOWN ONTO HER LEFT KNEE!

Alice walks to the neutral corner with Natascha yelling "that's it! That's what I want to see from you!" Making Alice grin and nod in her direction. 1....2....3....4... Hilary rubbing her stomach as she looks at the referee. 5....6... She is taking in some deep breaths. 7....8... Hilary pushes to her feet, nodding to the referee that she can continue.

Back at it they go with Alice wanting to apply pressure quickly. Ducking under a straight again to land an uppercut to the body that makes Hilary cry out. Alice pins Hilary into the ropes and whacks away at the body. Hilary can't clinch her as Alice pushes her off and lands a right hook over the top to twist her head. IN COMES THE TOWEL FROM THE GIRLS FRIDAY CORNER! REFEREE SEES IT AND WAVES THE FIGHT OFF AS HILARY IS JUST GETTING BEATEN UP!

Winner Alice Goodwin TKO Round 7

After:
Alice flexes her arms as she yells at Hilary "you're done! You're f**king finished!" As the referee holds her back. All the pent up emotion for Goodwin coming out as this is four years in the making for her. Natascha steps into the ring to hug her from behind with a big beaming smile.

Hilary meanwhile spits out her gumshield as she is bent over holding her stomach. Rebecca gets into the ring to check on her, Hilary nods to her showing that she knows the ghost was up in this fight, she was on the ropes and probably wasn't going to see the round out.

Both women obviously are in different moods on their stools. Alice thanks Natascha and assures her coach this is just the start. While Hilary doesn't say a word in her corner as she looks glum. Rebecca trying to console her fighter.

Once both women are ready they come to the middle of the ring for the final result to be announced. Alice getting her left arm raised as she looks like a weight has been taken from her shoulders. Hilary on the other hand shakes her head as she looks to the ceiling.

Hilary steps out the ring quickly with a groan showing her body is still bugging her. This run of losses is really starting to pile up. Making some pundits start to wonder if Hilary is starting to run out of steam as an elite fighter. Of course she would disagree with that as she stares straight ahead ignoring those around her.

In the ring though we might be seeing the start of a rebirth of Alice Goodwin as a boxer. She looked trimmer, boxed more smartly then she has in several years being a free agent. Natascha certainly looks impressed by her as they chat before stepping out the ring.

The proof will be in the pudding as they say. Alice is guaranteed seven fights at least this year with the Diamond Boxing Tournament, her first fight in it went south but still six months of gruelling action to go. If Alice can thrive in that then what's to say she couldn't finally win a world title?
