Avril Lavigne
(39, 5’1, 78:32 FCBA, The Dollhouse) Vs. Ariana Grande (30, 5’0, 9:25 FCBA, Femme Fight Club)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse
BEFORE: “So apparently Ariana is a total Schizo,” Avril begins first, smirking from her seat at the press table. “I mean, literally. This b*tch said she doesn't remember losing to me before?!” Avril snorts in disbelief. “I mean, WHAT b*tch? I beat your wimpy ass TWICE already and I'll gladly do it again any time. Last year she finally managed to win a few fights against literal nobodies after losing like a BILLION fights in a row… and now she's going to pretend all of her losses never happened? That's SO embarrassing and pathetic. I'm going to remind you of all of it tonight, stupid b*tch."
It’s a day before fight night and Miss Lavigne has strong words indeed for her fellow songstress. Despite Ariana being almost a decade younger, one can’t blame the American for glossing over those two losses almost six and seven years ago, in 2018 and 2017, respectively. Grande remaining smug from her seat at the table, entirely dismissing Lavigne’s feedback moments later:
“Well, I never dwell on the past,” Ariana responds with a smile. “It doesn't matter what happened 7 years ago. I've had my best FCBA year ever in 2023, and I plan to continue from where I left off tonight. If I were a betting girl, my money would be on me tonight. I'm in my prime at 30 and Avril is old...she's almost 40. I doubt she can handle my quickness and cardio. If she wants a fight, she'll get one, but she's going to regret her choices when it's over."
Both girls stride up to the podium for the official staredown, and we don’t think we’ve seen a rarer sight, with Avril’s opponent actually coming in shorter than her this time. Lavigne of course acting all cocky and confident as she raises her fists and trains them too close to Ariana’s face, the American shoving her own knuckles into the Canadian’s tummy and chin, as they jostle for space and push into each other, disregarding safety protocols.
Hours later, we’re back in the arena and ready for ten rounds of Flyweight action. Miss Grande has a steep hill to climb, not just avenging a loss to the Doll tonight, but also turning around her fortunes in the league. For too long, she’s been labeled as the punching bag of the FCBA, and seeks to change that perception. And what better way than to knock out a former Flyweight champion?
In one corner of the ring, Avril’s wearing her usual black and pink sports bra and short tights, black gloves, her blonde hair in a high ponytail and she’s smiling as she leans against the corner post, looking mega confident after an impressive round 6 KO of Olivia Holt just a month ago. Grande will look to continue her winning streak - a rarity indeed for the petite American singer, as she too settles into her fighting stance. Ariana is wearing a sleek purple sports bra and long white tights, pairing her ensemble with snow-white gloves, her brunette hair in a long, high ponytail.
Referee signals for the opening bell, and HERE WE GO!
ROUND 1: Avril kicks things off pretty passive, not surprising given her recent see-saw record. The former Flyweight champ would be wanting to get back into the hunt for the gold, and she’s taking every challenger at face value, daring Ariana to come at her with two raised fists and a cocky smirk, shooting jabs at the younger singer whenever Grande tries to get cocky herself. Ariana has more to prove in this third match, and plans to get in close and brawl, knowing that the older fighter can’t keep up with her youthful energy forever. Grande makes sudden skirting movements inwards, banging away at the Doll’s guard and then hammering shots off her sides as well to keep her moving. Avril’s getting battered early but doesn’t look too hammered, safely using her footwork and firm arms to defend her space. Instead, she’s firing off combos back into Ariana’s face, shocking the American multiple times and showing off her own speed. Grande, however, uses aggression all the way to the bell, determined to edge out her opponent despite taking too much punishment to her face. Bell rings and she achieves this feat, though we wonder at what expense.
ROUND 2: Ariana is still trying to close distance, banking on her unpredictability to shock Avril with a stray, low hook off the body or bashed into the arms to draw a grunt from her lips. It’s blatant hit-and-run tactics, folks, and the younger fighter can certainly afford the stamina drain, skirting forward and firing on all cylinders, hoping SOME of those punches are gonna get through and land clean. For a while, it works, with Lavigne getting pushed back and forced to swerve like the wind or risk taking a stray hand to the kisser. Down the line, however, Ariana’s random tactics grow too predictable, allowing the Doll to slam a counter-hook into her countenance, rocking her head roughly to the side. Then, another well-placed cross skirts through the American’s arms and catches her clean on the lips, further throwing her plans into disarray. Not looking too good for Grande’s tactics now, with Avril picking her apart from afar till the bell rings, saving this round for herself and evening the scoreboards at that last moment.
ROUND 3: Here Grande comes, refusing to quit! She wades in hard and fast this time, no longer concerned with throwing any feints, just straight up wading into Lavigne’s space and banging away at her arms and torso. Lavigne struggling to contain and get away at first, taking several stiff shots off her side profile, both tummy and her ears eating leather. But then the former champ begins to block and bash back, slapping a slick combo into Ariana’s nose to snap her head back with a groan. Grande, however, ain’t seeing stars, but more red. The shorter American simply growls after eating another stray combo to the face, then MARCHES right back into the fray, throwing more hooks high and low, absolutely determined to put the girl who KO’ed her twice in a row away! Lavigne has NO choice but to cover up from the onslaught, protecting her head from surprisingly powerful overhands that sail inwards, but a growling Grande simply mashes her gloves into the extent of her waistline, making her body jolt and almost cornering her against the ropes. Bell rings and Lavigne’s made it out of there, however, relatively unscathed, breathing heavily and casting side-eyed glares at Grande on the way back to her corner.
ROUND 4: Grande looking like she needs a little break here after 3 rounds of pure offense, moving out of her corner whilst taking big gulps of breath and her chest and shoulders heaving hard. Sure, she might be ten years younger than her opponent but she ain’t no spring chicken any longer, and is forced to trade leather with the older blonde from afar. That’s how Avril wants to play it, using her significant experience and instinct to telegraph her own attacks before shocking Ariana with stiff plugs to her nose and lips, each punch thrown with greater and greater force such that Grande is the one having to back away towards the end of the round. Grande expected a last minute rush to try and finish her off, having braced for a storm that just didn’t arrive - Avril stays methodical, conserving her stamina and playing it safe, and it works, her jabs doing the talking all the way to the bell, as she keeps her younger foe guessing with several feints high or to the left before stunning Ariana with more head-shots.
ROUND 5: Grande not looking too hot all of a sudden, getting tagged more often now that she’s run out of stamina and has nowhere else to go but backwards. Avril slowly closing the noose around her neck, herding her towards the ropes with jab combos sent flying towards the head, forcing her to cover up and back away or eat leather. Grande’s throwing out huge bombs of her own, of course, trying for Hail Marys that don’t come, with Avril easily spotting those hooks coming at her from a mile away, and easily swerving to the side to avoid them. All of a sudden, a return overhand sails over Grande’s arms, and SMASHES into her nostrils, throwing her head back, and the rest of her body shuddering towards the ropes as well. Shout of triumph from the crowd and Dollhouse corner as HERE AVRIL COMES! The Queen herself smells blood as she walks straight in now, sensing that the younger brunette is all but dazed and ready to go down! Ariana in tatters and her expression that of growing desperation as she does her best to fend off the incoming punches, but Lavigne’s slamming them in like she WANTS her to take her medicine, with Ariana taking shot after shot direct to her face till a third straight cross completely BLOWS HER OFF HER FEET, a clothesline of a right hand from the Doll to cement her status as the KO Queen in this match-up!! Grande barely has time to let out a groan before she’s thrown DOWN to the canvas with a loud THUD, her head rolling side to side and the rest of her body absolutely flattened out and KO’ed COLD!! Referee takes one look at the battered girl and WAVES this fight off! Looks like Miss Grande still has a ways to go!!
Official Result: Avril Lavigne defeats Ariana Grande via KO5!
AFTER: “Told ya, b*tch!” Avril shouts from her neutral corner at her sleeping opponent, chuckling as she struts towards the referee to get her arm raised. The Canadian has now cemented herself as the superior fighter with an impressive 3-0 score against the American and it’s difficult to see her giving Ariana another shot at changing that score anytime soon, or…perhaps ever.
The FFC team rushing into the ring to protect their mega-star prospect, shoving a giggling Lavigne out of the way and forming a circle around Grande to ensure no further harm is inflicted upon their fallen fighter as they begin attempts to revive poor Ariana.
Lavigne still not taking this fight (and win) too seriously, raises her arms in the air and blowing kisses for the fans before exiting the ring shortly after, strutting out of the arena accompanied by Carmen Electra and the Dollhouse entourage to the sound of her own pop-punk music blasting through the arena.
Avril however may not get to rest on her laurels for too long it seems as there are recent rumors circulating about the situation behind the scenes at the Dollhouse reaching a boiling point, with talks about a possible showdown for the ages between top Dollhouse flyweight superstars and arch-enemies Lavigne and Roberts demanding to settle their score once and for all after a verbal altercation between the two quickly turned physical in the Dollhouse HQ halls earlier this month.
We’ll have to keep following that development closely in the coming days or weeks, but we’re already very excited to see where this goes! Stay tuned! |
