NATASHA LIU BORDIZZO VS NAOMI SCOTT

Natasha: 29 YO, 5’7 (1.70 m). 4-0-0 since 2023, Fates Boxing

Naomi: 30 YO, 5’6 (1/67 m), 29-12-0 since 2017, Foxfire Boxing

Before: Exotic (Australian born of Chinese/Italian heritage) actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo is off to a fast start in her FCBA career winning her first four fights. Now she takes former Bantamweight Champion Naomi Scott.

“I thought it was important to show I can handle the ‘hot rookies’. So I challenged her and I appreciate Natasha and Fates Boxing taking me up on it,” says Naomi Scott at et the prefight press conference

As for Natasha, she responds: “I will admit it is a risk taking on such an experienced fighter, but I clearly the underdog in this bout. I am not expected to win, so I doubt there will a huge disappointment if I do—BUT—if I should shock everyone and get the win—well, that will be a real boost for my career.”

Naomi smiles: “Betting on underdogs is a good way to end up broke. So is betting your career on being one.”

“But underdogs do win—and no one likes to be on the losing end of that kind of upset. I think you have more to worry about than I do,” Natasha replied.

“I am not worried, I assure you,” Naomi says, sounding annoyed.

“And neither am I,” Natasha said with assurance and the two exchanged hostile glares.

The bad feelings between Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Naomi Scott are still strong as the two later stand facing each other in the ring. Natasha in black bra and panties with matching boots and gloves (white laces) hair pulled back in a battle braid. Naomi in white bra and panties with silver embroidery. Silver gloves and boots. Hair in a long battle braid down her back. The referee gets through the preliminaries promptly completed. Fast tap of the gloves and the two fighters go to their corners where they look impatient to get this going. Then the bell rings

R1: Natasha advances quickly on Naomi as soon as they reach punching range at the center of the ring. Natasha striking first with a swiping blow across Naomi’s mouth with her right and then a smacking left uppercut to the former champ’s chin. Naomi knocked back but gets up her dukes and fights back as Natasha seeks to follow-up. Brisk exchanged to the head and face leaves both fighters with splotched, swelling cheeks, chins and jaws. The pace not slacking as Natasha pounds home hooks into Naomi’s abs and ribs. Naomi trying to answer, but she is being slowly pushed back at the bell. Judges add the points and decide R1 is a narrow win for NLB.

R2: Natalie and Natasha quickly return to mid ring as the new round commences. Natasha attacking to Natalie’s head with some good bell ringing jaw shots. Natalie falls back from these punches to clear her head, but Natasha moves with her now adding hooks to the body to her fast head strike punches. Natalie looking beleaguered at this point as Natasha’s determined leather is pushing her back steadily. Natasha getting off a few counters, but nowhere near enough to keep NLB from winning the round wide.

R3: Natalie Scott counterattacks as the next round begins. She jabs fast into Natasha’s face to confuse and distract her. Then Naomi follows up by a strong right/left combo to Natasha’s chin to put rubber in the Australian’s legs. Natalie then tries to punch Natasha into the ropes, but Natasha lashes back and momentarily stuns Natalie with smashing eight to the jaw. This gives Natasha just enough time to pull herself together and strike back at Natalie to the body. Heated battle as the two go at toe to toe and forehead to forehead. Elbows moving in and out to deliver short right and left gloved blows to writhing bodies. Intense action down to the bell. A pause for the judges to add things up. Apparently Naomi’s early punching gave her just enough points to edge Natasha out and win her the round.

R4: Natasha again able to get to Naomi early and rock her with powerful lefts and rights to the head. Naomi is quickly in retreat, having to use her gloves to protect her head, but getting worked over to the body by determined Natasha. Natasha trying to steer Naomi into the ropes, but Naomi makes a stand and punches Natasha to a standstill. Natasha then circles and starts pounding Naomi’s right side ribs. Natalie twisting away from the pressure and using her jab to slow Natasha’s pursuit for the remainder of the round. However it is not enough to prevent Natasha Liu Bordizzo from winning the round wide.

R5: Naomi seems to have been determined not to let Natasha get in the first punch this round. She practically flew out of her corner and caught Natasha with ripping right cross to the chin. Natasha had barely cleared her own corner and was now momentarily frozen in shock. Now Naomi pounded Natasha in the belly. With a gurgling groan, Natasha doubled up and then Naomi unleashed rising punches into Natasha’s bent over upper body. Natasha was lurching back towards her own corner, but clinched Naomi to force a break and buy her a few moments to recover. Naomi went right back at Natasha, but Natasha managed to throw up enough jabs to allow Natasha slip passed her. Natasha headed for the middle of the ring, but Naomi was hot on her trail. Natasha attempted to counterattack to Naomi’s head, but Natalie dodged the punches and smashed Natasha in the face. Natasha had to get her gloves mitt to protect her now badly bruised and Naomi went to work on Natasha’s ribcage and abs until she had Natasha bent forward and gasping for air. The bell sounded. Naomi Scott had won the round wide and she marched to her corner. Natasha Liu Bordizzo moved much more gingerly getting back to her stool.

R6: Natasha Liu Bordizzo made sure not to get trapped in her own corner this time, she scrambled forward off her stool at the bell. Naomi Scott chose not risk another blitz, but she did move in quickly. Naomi was showing a lot of lateral movement and Natasha grew sluggish in her responses. Then Naomi struck with a full-powered right/left combination that sent Natasha reeling backwards towards the ropes. Naomi lunged after her and managed to slam an overhand right into Natasha’s head. Natasha fell back, her black boots shot out from under her and she landed in a sitting position against the ropes. Naomi went to the neutral corner. The referee started counting. Natasha was stirring, her arms finding the ropes and she used them to help pull herself upwards. The referee had just called out “EIGHT!” when Natasha was fully on her feet. Referee checks her over and then waves Naomi back in.

Natasha moves forward to meet the incoming Natalie and this quickly backfires. Naomi able to brush off Natasha’s punches and go right at her chin. Natasha sent stumbling back into the ropes and has trouble getting her gloves up as Naomi hammers her to head. Natasha is in desperate trouble as Naomi is pounding her head from side to side Ringsiders are screaming at the ref to the fight---and FINALLY—the ref jumps in cradling Natasha to safety.,

THE WINNER NAOMI SCOTT DEFEATS NATASHA LIU BORDIZZO TKO6!

After: “I am glad the referee stopped the fight, but Natasha has more courage than good sense. She should have stayed down and waited for another day to get me back,” says Naomi Scott after the fight. “She was good challenge for me. I feel really tuned for whoever I fight next.”

Understandably, it is not until next day that Natasha Liu Bordizzo makes a comment: “I wasn’t happy to lose my first fight and I plenty of lumps to show it, but I did my best out there.I just need to make my best better.”
It was a good contest until Naomi was finally able to get control in R5 & 6. This was a case of Naomi winning a fight she needed to win to keep her in Bantam Division contention. This was a painful (in terms of the punishment she took) for Natasha Liu Bordizzo, but she showed talent out there. More experience and the next time Natasha meets Naomi, the outcome could be different
