BEFORE:

"I know it's been a struggle for Peyton," says Melissa with a smile. "And, it's nice to see her getting things on track. But, she's in waaaaaayyy above her head tonight. Way above."

"No question this is a big fight for me," says a hard-eyed Peyton. "Coming off a tough loss in a very competitive division here at Front Street. But, if anyone thinks I'm going anywhere, they're dead wrong. I CAN win fights at this level. And, that's exactly what I'm going to do tonight."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Holding Out For A Hero' you hear behind us, but that's not Bonnie Tyler singing, it's the stunning blonde on her way to the ring, Supergirl, Melissa Benoist!"

McCarthy: "I think Weirdo's lost it. This kid can fight. She's already beaten that FRAUD McMann, and she gave Bennet all she wanted, too. She's going to blow the doors of this kid."

O'Dell: "Melissa, of course, representing PLP. She's bouncing down to the ring, getting a warm reception from the fans. Climbs in, is helped off with the robe, and gets a nice pop when the crowd sees her in that black number she's wearing..."

All I wanna eat is cherry licorice

I don't care if it sounds ridiculous

Even the birds and the bees

Eat how they damn well please...

O'Dell: "And, that's 'Cherry Licorice' by the Felice Brothers pounding through the arena, and here comes 'The Cobra', Peyton List!"

Tess: "And, I suspect it IS a big fight for Peyton tonight. She did fall to Ginny Gardner on PPV her last time out, and she's number five in a five-fighter bantamweight division at Front Street...a division that might just be one fighter too large, considering the stable is dividing its five lightweights between light and welter..."

Cassie (laughing): "If you just say the word, BFF, Uncle Wiz will hire you. You don't have to buck for the job..."

McCarthy: "Easy, stomach. Don't turn over now. Easy, boy..."

O'Dell: "Peyton into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd showing plenty of appreciation for the lovely Ms. List in that baby blue number she likes. Ladies about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Peyton. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Benoist is a real fighter. Melissa!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "There's the bell, and Benoist getting right to it. Supergirl can get physical in there, and that's exactly what she's doing right now, quickly squaring up List and backing her up with solid flurries. Peyton can't hold canvas here. She's being tossed to the defensive immediately..."

McCarthy: "I TOLD you. Benoist is a real fighter..."

O'Dell: "Certainly looks like one right now. She's taking the fight to the blonde and giving her a thumping. List not hurt, but she's definitely getting the short end of things right now. Good right from Melissa and Peyton gives even more ground. Brunette in command at the moment..."

Cassie: "Peyton can't get anything going..."

O'Dell: "A counter here and there, and that's about it. Benoist has been both aggressive and effective the entire way. Solid combination Melissa there as the final second tick off in the first. There's the bell, and Benoist has left no doubt. She's taken it wide in the opener..."

Tess: "And taken the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "More aggression from Benoist early, but now List dealing. Peyton's working the jab and the feet. She wants some space to operate, and she's getting it with good movement and a solid stick from that left hand. Melissa not able to get off as cleanly as she did in the first."

Tess: "MUCH better stuff from List right here."

O'Dell: "But, Benoist still managing to score. She's just not dominating as she did in the first. Instead, we've got good, two-way stuff happening now, with both fighters able to get some offense going. List poking that left into Melissa's face, following on with right hands..."

McCarthy: "While Benoist puts together solid combinations of her own."

O'Dell: "Not a lot in it this time, as blonde and brunette are both scoring effectively into the final ten seconds of the stanza. Sharp exchange and then another, and heads got snapped back in that trade! There's the bell. Very, very close, but it's List who's going to get the points."

Cassie: "And even the fight at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "List getting things rolling as we start the third. Peyton putting punches together and now the blonde is tossing the brunette to the back foot. Melissa backing and covering all of a sudden as the younger woman gets on a roll. She's got to be building confidence right now..."

Cassie: "No doubt about it."

O'Dell: "Good right hand counter from Benoist, but Peyton keeping the pressure on the brunette. All of a sudden, List is actually walking forward behind that jab, and now it's Supergirl who can't hold her canvas. GOOD combination there from Peyton and it got Melissa's attention..."

McCarthy: "Benoist too passive right now..."

O'Dell: "And, a lot of that is the blonde's doing. List keeping up the fire, suppressing her rival's offense. We're down under twenty seconds to go in the third, and Peyton List has put together her best round of the fight and one of her best rounds in a long time. There's the bell. List. Wide."

Tess: "And, Peyton leads 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "List continuing to press the issue. Benoist giving ground again and ROCKING PEYTON WITH A RIGHT-HAND COUNTER! A BIG shot from Supergirl leaves the blonde rumblin', stumblin', fumblin' around the ring, And, now Melissa's going all in to finish this thing..."

Tess: "And, she has time."

O'Dell: "Indeed, she does. Brunette battering the blonde back into the ropes, where she hooks some body, then goes back upstairs. Referee's watching closely as List hangs on with the guard high. Peyton jabbing back here and there, but mainly trying to ride this out..."

McCarthy: "One good shot will finish this..."

O'Dell: "But, right now, the blonde is denying that shot to the brunette. Coming down the stretch and Benoist upping the ante here, REALLY letting the hands go trying to finish. But, it's not going to happen. Final ticks coming off the clock and there's the bell. Melissa takes it wide, but Peyton is still standing."

Cassie: "And, we're even at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Benoist looking to finish or at least clean up here. She's all offense at the moment, backing up the blonde once again. List's got iffy legs, and she's playing for time while the brunette piles up both points and hurt. GOOD combination from Melissa sends Peyton back a couple of steps..."

McCarthy: "She may finish this kid here...in more ways than one."

O'Dell: "Benoist uber aggressive but sound. She's not giving Peyton many openings to counter, though List is managing to do that in spots. It's all the offense she's been able to muster in this stanza, though, as the brunette pins her to the ropes again and gets to work."

Cassie: "List keeping the gloves high, countering here and there."

O'Dell: "Peyton seems to be shaking most of the damage, now. She works her way off the ropes, but the brunette is still in command, still retaining the initiative and forcing her rival to back and cover. Five seconds to go. Good right from Supergirl and there's the bell. Benoist wide again."

Tess: "And, Melissa leads 48-47 at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Second half starts with Benoist looking to push forward and List getting back to what she did effectively in the second. She's working the left poke, moving the feet, making it harder for the brunette to line her up. It's making quite the difference, as we're back to two-way stuff."

Tess: "List scoring nicely with the jab."

O'Dell: "And, scoring off it as well. As for Melissa, she's not dominating, but, like she did in the second, she's getting work done, getting off in combination, scoring well. Neither fighter able to gain much of an advantage so far in this round, because both are fighting very well..."

McCarthy: "This thing might be over if it weren't for that home town ref. Another ref might have stopped it!"

O'Dell: "Coming down the stretch in a very competitive sixth. Ladies trade some fire there and then Melissa steps forward and they fall into a clinch. Ref breaks the fighters apart. List jabbing, moving, and there's the bell. Very close in this one, but the blonde gets the points."

Cassie: "Evening things at 57."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Back to work in the seventh. List working the left, moving the feet. Benoist, very athletic, looking to match footwork and square up the blonde. When she can do that, the brunette's able to land hard, accurate fire. Meanwhile, Peyton's scoring with the left, working the right off it."

Cassie: "Nice stuff from Peyton working through those tough rounds and getting back in this."

O'Dell: "And, she's definitely right in it. Nice right hand from Benoist and LIST SHOOK HER WITH A STRAIGHT RIGHT! Brunette wobbles and the blonde lets the hands go in a big way! Melissa staggered by a right hand and DROPPED WITH A LEFT HOOK!"

Tess: "NASTY PUNCH!"

O'Dell: "Brunette down on her left side after a short hook from Peyton. List to a neutral corner. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Melissa rolls to her belly. Six, Seven. Pushing to hands and knees. Eight. Nine....TEN! Benoist still on all fours as the count passes her by and it's OVER! And your winner by KO7 is 'The Cobra' Peyton List!"

McCarthy: "Lucky! Just LUCKY!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Peyton List, and, Peyton, this was a big win for you..."

Peyton (nodding): "Yeah. If you haven't noticed, we have a LOT of good bantams around here. I didn't get the result I wanted last time out. I really needed this one."

Tess: "So, what's next for you?"

Peyton (smiling): "Still a quarter of the year to go. I want to get back in there a couple of times before 2022 is out!"
