BEFORE:

"Close," says Deborah with a shake of the head. "I keep getting CLOSE against these girls. I was trashing McKinney and she got lucky. Perry lands a lucky shot in the tenth or I beat her. Well. Sooner or later, Front Street is going to run out of luck. And, tonight's the night."

"There's no doubt she's dangerous," Kennedy admits. "She's got size and power and length and all of that. But. I won't need luck to beat her. Just this right hand."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Get The Funk Out Ma Face' by the Brothers Johnson, and here comes the lovely star of 'True Blood' Deborah Ann Woll!"

McCarthy: "TYPICAL Dancing Hooker Opponent. NO FCBA wins!"

Tess: "To be fair to Woll, she WAS beating McKinney, who's a Top Twenty welter, not once but TWICE and she was leading Perry in the tenth round when the two fought..."

McCarthy: "Coulda, woulda, shoulda! She lost. And lost. And lost. And all she's done is LOSE!"

O'Dell: "Woll into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal that black number we've seen before, and..."

Oh the shark, babe

Has such teeth, dear

McCarthy: "It's a TRAGEDY OF JUSTICE! It's theftification on a grand scale! I'll SUE I'll SUE!"

O'Dell: "As Mac's head slowly begins the process of exploding, I'll remind everyone that the song you're hearing is 'Mack the Knife' by Bobby Darin..."

Cassie: "AND, since Uncle Wiz BOUGHT THE RIGHTS to that song, if you hear it, it can ONLY mean that Kennedy 'Mac The Knife' McMann is coming to the ring..."

McCarthy: "THEFTIFICATION! Of my SONG and my GIMMICK and I won't sit quietly and TAKE it anymore!"

Tess: "Exactly WHEN have you sat quietly and done ANYTHING?"

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, WALMART!"

O'Dell (sighing): "Drink up, boys, as the lovely Kennedy climbs into the ring to be helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. Crowd popping for Ms. McMann in that lavender number she likes..."

McCarthy: "PHILLY! Low standards! This girl has NO BODY AT ALL!"

O'Dell (sighing): "And, the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Kennedy. Mac?"

McCarthy: "FRAID! She's a FRAUD! Woll!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, we're underway. Ladies going to work at range here early, and that's no surprise. Both have good length and both like to use it. Redhead giving away a bit of reach here, but doing a good job of angling to counter it, as the ladies work their jabs and follow on with right hands..."

McCarthy: "That FRAUD doesn't do a good job of ANYTHING except STEALING!"

O'Dell: "Fighters both getting into a rhythm now, getting the jabs on target, building combinations. Nobody able to gain any real advantage early, as Deborah and Kennedy both find openings to score. It's good, technical, tactical stuff in this opening stanza with any recon long over..."

Cassie: "Definitely didn't take anyone long to settle in."

O'Dell: "Coming down the stretch in what's been a good, two-way round. Nice combination by McMann and there's a solid rejoinder from Woll. Kennedy a good right hand in response to that, and there's the bell. Going to be very, very close in the opening frame, but Woll grabs the points."

Tess: "And takes the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "McMann a little more aggressive as we start the second. Redhead stepping into things now, looking to back her rival up and managing to do it. Woll getting tossed to the back foot here, and Kennedy aiming to keep her there. Blonde not hurt, but the redhead has her in full retreat..."

Tess: "This is good stuff from McMann. If she wants to stay in the mix at welter, she has to bring the physical."

O'Dell: "And, that's precisely what she's doing right now, taking the fight to Deborah in just about every way you can do that. Woll spending much too much time backing and covering here, as Kennedy pushes the pace behind that solid left jab. GOOD right from McMann snaps back the blonde's head."

McCarthy: "FIGHT BACK, WOLL! KNOCK THIS FRAUD OUT!"

O'Dell: "Deborah countering in spots, but that's about all she can manage at the moment. Kennedy's been on the offensive since the opening seconds of this stanza, and she's going to stay there right to the bell. There it is. End of two, and no doubt about this one. Kennedy and wide."

Cassie: "And we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Woll using a drop step as we start the third. Nice adjustment by the blonde, who's willing to give a little ground to create space here. She's getting the jab on now, forcing this thing back to range, and it's creating the same terms we saw in the opening stanza."

Cassie: "Woll's using that reach advantage very well."

O'Dell: "Sure is, and she's frustrating Kennedy's attempts to get in behind the jab and get moving forward. Instead, distance is being enforced with the blonde's drop step and left and it's made a ton of difference here, as we're back on even terms in the third round."

McCarthy: "All Woll needs now is to keep using that jab, drop in a good right, and McMann will fold like a sheet!"

O'Dell: "Just 20 seconds to go in the round. Sharp exchange there, with both fighters landing a good right hand. Blonde popping the jab. Popping it again. Redhead responds with a good one-two and there's the bell. Very close again, but Woll's round in the third."

Tess: "And Deborah Ann moves back into the lead 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Into the fourth and Kennedy trying to push the issue here. She's determined to get forward and get physical with the blonde and THERE'S A RIGHT HAND BY WOLL! McMann wobbled and DROPPED BY A STRAIGHT RIGHT! Two BOOMING punches from the blonde and the redhead splashed to her back!"

McCarthy: "YES! YES! KNOCK OUT THE FRAUD! YES!"

O'Dell: "Woll to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. McMann sitting up at six. Seven. Eight. Kennedy to her feet at nine. Ref going to give her the mandatory...and wave on Deborah Ann! Blonde all in now as she backs up the redhead with solid shot..."

Tess: "Kennedy has to find a way to ride this out."

O'Dell: "And that's what she's looking to do along the ropes. Woll digging a little body, but mostly working upstairs. She's determined to finish now. But, McMann rolling with, blocking, hanging on, and there's the bell! Huge round for the blonde, but the redhead is still standing."

Cassie: "But Deborah Ann's build a nice lead, 39-36 after four."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Woll in control as we start the fifth. McMann still doesn't have the legs under her and the blonde taking full advantage of that, working the left hand, following on with rights, backing the redhead up again and again as she looks to finish this thing..."

McCarthy: "KEEP AFTER HER! FINISH HER!"

O'Dell: "Kennedy playing a defensive game. She's keeping the hands high, willing to give ground, trading space for time right now. She's countering here and there, but it's Woll who's pushing the pace, getting much the better of things as she remains on the offensive..."

Cassie: "McMann doing a good defensively."

O'Dell: "Definitely is. Blonde is effecting a nice clean up here, but McMann is denying her the finisher, and that's got to be the goal right now. Down under ten seconds in the fifth. Nice combination by Woll and there's the bell. No doubt about it. It's Deborah and wide."

Tess: "And Woll expands the lead to 49-45."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Woll looking to press forward but McMann ENDS THAT NOISE WITH A RIGHT HAND! Kennedy STINGS the blonde with a NASTY right and Woll is now the one looking wobbly! Redhead coming forward, backing the blonde up with solid shot. Deborah Ann in trouble here..."

McCarthy: "TIE UP! TIE UP!"

O'Dell: "And Woll tying up, holding on, trying to slow this down. Kennedy shoving off, going a little body, then back upstairs, backing up the blonde again. GOOD combination McMann as she forces the blonde to the ropes. Deborah Ann with the high, tight guard now..."

Tess: "Playing this smart. Has a big lead. Just get to the bell."

O'Dell: "That's clearly the plan. Blonde tying up again. Redhead punching free. Woll playing defense, putting the body on sale. McMann buying now, hooking ribs and tummy. Woll ties up again as the final seconds tick away. There's the bell. Shutout, McMann in the sixth."

Cassie: "But the blonde still leads it 58-55."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "McMann pressing. Coming forward behind that left jab like we saw in the second. She's looking to bring power to bear here, and she's shown plenty of it already tonight. Woll giving ground, using that drop step. Blonde seems to have the legs back under her now..."

McCarthy: "And a three point lead with four to go. Just MANAGE here..."

O'Dell: "And, that's exactly what Deborah Ann is doing. She's countering in spots, working the jab, staying off the ropes. McMann's having the better of things, definitely winning the round, but Woll is trading points for time like McMann was, earlier, trading space for time."

Cassie: "Smart boxing."

O'Dell: "Definitely is. We're down to fifteen seconds in this frame. McMann a good right hand. Woll fires back with a nice combination, her best punches of the round. Kennedy jabs, lands a right, and there's the bell. It's McMann wide in the seventh, but Woll getting back on track."

Tess: "And still leading 67-65."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Eighth underway and Woll moving much better now. She's using the jab and drop step again to create space, boxing at range. Redhead willing to box with at the moment. Not going to press the issue right now. Woll showing a lot more SNAP in those jabs than in the last couple of rounds..."

McCarthy: "She's GOT her. Just MANAGE now."

O'Dell: "McMann a nice combination and Woll fires right back, landing one of her own and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Out of NOWHERE McMann with a one-two, drops a right hand in behind a sharp left jab and WOLL IS BLOWN TO HER BACK!"

McCarthy: "GET UP, YOU BUM!"

Cassie (singing): "Turn out the liiiggghhhtttts. The party's ohhhhverrrrr..."

O'Dell: "McMann to a neutral corner. Woll not moving at all. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. This is going to be academic. Woll isn't just down, she's OUT. Seven. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! That quickly, it's OVER! And your winner by KO8 in lightning strike fashion is Kennedy 'Mack The Knife' McMann!"

Tess: "What a shot. What a shot."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Kennedy McMann, and, Kennedy, you had to get off the deck to get it done today..."

Kennedy (nodding): "This is welterweight. Everybody's got power. The mistake girls make is, they think if they can HIT, they can win up here. But, it's not just about being able to punch, it's about being able to TAKE a punch. I can do that, too."

Tess: "It's been a great year for you, nice wins at both weights..."

Kennedy (smiling): "And we're going to keep building on that, Tess. Because I'm looking for shots at gold in 2023. Count on that."
