BRUNETTE AMBITION @ THE ASYLUM: A NEW BEGINNING

BEFORE:

"Anytime you get in there with a top ten fighter like Chloe, it's a huge opportunity," says Adria. "Get a win tonight, and I'm going on the map. And, I'm GETTING a win tonight."

"No doubt she's shown some stuff," Chloe says with a nod. "But, tonight, she's in with the best bantam on the planet, and that's not going to go well for her."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and the four-sided giant screen lowered over the arena, which means Asylum Beach, with plenty of patio heaters and fire pits functioning, is about to get some use. And, that's 'Find Me' by Sigma, and the lovely Adria Arjona is walking onto the sand!"

Tess: "And, let's point out to Mac that she actually HAS FCBA wins, TWO of them against two losses..."

McCarthy: "A .500 fighter as an opponent? Weirdo must have had too much of that swill he calls 'beer'..."

O'Dell: "Arjona into the ring and helped off with the robe, and, the fans giving it up for Adria in that black number..."

Cassie: "Definitely in peak form for this one..."

O'Dell: "And that's..."

McCarthy: "AWFUL! TERRIBLE! An assault on my OLFACTION!"

Tess: "HERE we go..."

O'Dell (sighing): "That's 'Uh Oh' and onto the beach comes the young lady who sings that tune, 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet!"

Cassie: "Chloe's had an undefeated 2022. Still right in the bantamweight title picture and also making some noise in beach fights lately."

O'Dell: "Bennet through the ropes and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and she's looking plenty good in that blue number she likes, if the crowd's reaction can be believed. Time for some picks. Tess likes Chloe. Mac?"

McCarthy: "This girl HAS some wins. I'm picking Arjona in an upset!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "First split panel of the night. Let's see who's right. Adria making with the jab right away. She's got a little reach here and she's using it. She's banging that left into Chloe's face, then hooking or crossing off it, throwing the more experienced brunette onto the defensive..."

McCarthy: "Give this kid credit. She's not fighting scared."

O'Dell: "Absolutely is not. She's got the geometry the way she wants it, and she's taking full advantage. Bennet not able to get to where she wants to be or to get off more than occasionally. This is excellent stuff from Arjona, who's looking very much at home on the sand."

Tess: "Bennet all kids of out of rhythm right here."

O'Dell: "Definitely is, and Adria's keeping her there, at least for the moment, Twenty seconds to go in this one. Quick flurry from Arjona. Chloe lands a good right in counter, but Adria another combination and there's the bell. Not close at all. The Puerto Rican beauty takes it wide."

Cassie: "And Adria has the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Adjustment from Bennet here. Chloe moving the head, hands, and feet more, kicking up some sand out there, angling, keeping the guard up, all in service of keeping that left jab out of her face. When she manages it, she's able to get off in combination and pile up some points..."

McCarthy: "And, when she doesn't, Arjona's the one scoring."

O'Dell: "Add it all up and we've got a two-way round here, with both fighters able to get some offense going at times, but neither able to take control of the round. SHARP exchange there and both ladies landing a good right hand. Lot of sand flying around now..."

Cassie: "Every time Chloe looks like she's going to really get going, Adria fires back."

O'Dell: "Definitely some impressive stuff from Ms. Arjona right now. SHARP exchange gain, with neither fighter managing to get the better of that. ANOTHER and a solid right from Bennet backed Adria up. There's the bell. Very closely fought second is going to go to Chloe."

Tess: "And that evens things at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "More two-way action here in the third. Both fighters have found something that's working right now, and nobody's looking to make changes. Adria using that bit of reach and the long, accurate left jab to set up her offense. Chloe blocking, slipping, angling to middle distances..."

Tess: "And wasting no time getting off when she gets there."

O'Dell: "And that's the key. The one thing you don't have in the ring is time. You have to react almost instantly, because if you don't, that opening, that opportunity, is gone. Both of these ladies know that, and they're both reacting very quickly when they're in a spot to get off."

McCarthy: "Arjona's got a little experience on the beach and it shows."

O'Dell: "Both girls looking pretty comfortable on the sand. Chloe, of course, fought here at Asylum Beach at the end of September. Just seconds remaining in another closely fought round. Adria jabbing. Chloe slipping lands a right hand and there's the bell. Nothing in it, ladies. Even round."

Cassie: "And, the cards remain even at 29."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins with Adria doubling and tripling up on that jab. She's determined to get it on target, and she's doing that now, like she did in the first round. And, as we discussed, she's not wasting the opportunities those jabs present, landing solid right hands, building combinations..."

Cassie: "Very impressive. It was obvious from her limited FCBA action that Adria has plenty of talent..."

O'Dell: "Indeed. But, coming here to Philly and fighting as well as she has against a former champion and Top Five bantam like Chloe. The word is definitely impressive, and she's impressing even more now. Arjona has it firing on all cylinders offensively, putting punches together well..."

Tess: "And, she doesn't exactly have Bennet on the defensive, but she's suppressing her offense quite a bit."

O'Dell: "All that adding up to what's been a very good round for Adria as we head down the stretch in the fourth. Quick combination by the Puerto Rican beauty and another and there's the bell. Not going to be any question about the points here. It's Arjona wide."

McCarthy: "And she's got the 39-38 lead."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Arjona working that jab. More aggression from Chloe now, though. Bennet working past, coming inside instead of staying at range, banging some body, up to the head and then back to the body. Chloe getting VERY physical right now and it's working in a major way..."

McCarthy: "CAMPBELL trains her! Watch for LOW BLOWS!"

O'Dell: "Bennet has turned this thing around at the moment. She's making Adria VERY uncomfortable, banging away effectively on the inside. Arjona trying to get some space here, but it's not working. Chloe's controlling the tempo and the geometry and the round."

Cassie: "This is the thing about champions. They can do a LOT of things in there."

O'Dell: "And Bennet is doing a lot of DAMAGE in there. She's hooking the ribs and midsection, landing short hooks to the head, backing Arjona across the sand as Adria is thrown over to the defensive. SHARP combination by Chloe got the taller brunette's attention and there's the bell. Bennet. Wide."

Tess: "And we're even at 48."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "More aggression from Bennet. She's determined to stay in Adria's grill, and, for the moment at least, there's not much Arjona can do about it. Chloe working body like Neve Campbell, DIGGING into the ribs and tummy, then going upstairs before heading right back down."

Tess: "They're across the street and I STILL think I can hear those body shots landing..."

O'Dell: "Arjona tying up. Holding on. Getting a break from the referee, but she won't get one from Bennet. Chloe right back in her grill, working that body and ROCKING ARJONA WITH A RIGHT HOOK! Adria's knees do a shimmy! Bennet digging body and then landing a CRUCHING right hook and DOWN GOES ADRIA!"

McCarthy: "LOW BLOWS! LOW BLOWS!"

O'Dell: "Adria down on her belly in the sand. Chloe to a neutral corner. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. No movement at all from Arjona. This may be academic. Seven. Eight. Definitely is. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! Adria is both down and out and it's OVER and your winner by KO6 is 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet!"

Cassie: "Just a VICIOUS right hook. Vicious."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go across the street to Cassie Scerbo!"

Cassie: "I have our winner, Chloe Bennet, and beach fighting in Philly in November..."

Chloe (laughing): "Hey, it's not that bad out here with all the heaters."

Cassie: "And, YOU threw some heat. That right hook was something..."

Chloe (nodding): "Yeah. Needed to get physical with her. She's a good boxer when she gets into rhythm, so I wanted to get her OUT of it. I did. And, then I got her out of THERE."

Cassie: "Is this beach thing going to become a habit with you?"

Chloe: "It might. But, right now, how about we finish this interview and get back across the street?"
