BRUNETTE AMBITION @ THE ASYLUM: A NEW BEGINNING

EFORE:

"Kristen and I have a history," says Emma with a nod. "And, we have mutual respect. We've earned that from one another. But. As good as she is, I've always been just a bit better, as I'll prove again tonight."

"The respect," says Kristen, "Is definitely mutual. But. We're in disagreement about which of us is better. So, let's find out, shall we?"

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Dog Days Are Over' by Florence + The Machine, and here comes former Unified Flyweight Champion Emma Watson!"

McCarthy: "And, Watson's an actual real fighter. Give Weirdo a LITTLE credit for being smart enough to match her up with the ONE real fighter he has in his stable..."

O'Dell: "Emma into the ring and helped off with the robe, and Ms. Watson in that white bikini is getting quite a pop from the crowd. And, that's 'Helter Skelter' by the Beatles you hear hammering through the arena, and here comes the FCBA's biggest Beatles fan, 'The Five-Tool Player', Kristen Stewart!"

Tess: "And, it's a big fight for Stewart tonight. Get a win here and she might be in line for something that often eludes Front Street, a flyweight title shot."

O'Dell: "K-Stew bumping glove to fist with Mac on the way past the table. Climbs into the ring and is helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd popping for K-Stew in that lime green number she likes. Ladies about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes K-Stew. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Won't be easy, but Stewart."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "There's the bell. Stewart wants to box at range, and she's making with the jab here, but Emma's in a half-crouch, working forward with the guard high, stepping inside, working body, then going back upstairs and ROCKING KRISTEN WITH A RIGHT UPPERCUT!"

Tess: "BIG shot!"

O'Dell: "Sure was and Stewart's in DEEP trouble in the first! Watson backing her up with flurry after flurry of hard shot. K-Stew all wobbly here, pinned to the ropes now as Emma goes to town. British beauty close to ending this thing with a shocking first round KO..."

Cassie: "VERY close. Ref may end it for her..."

O'Dell: "K-Stew tying up, holding on, trying to weather this storm. Watson a good right hand and Stewart ties up again. Ref gonna get in there and break them. Just ten seconds to go. Watson goes body, then lands another solid right and there's the bell. A GREAT opening round for Watson who takes it wide..."

McCarthy: "Emma's up 10-9, but K-Stew is still standing."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Watson looking to finish this thing now. She's walking Kristen down behind her left hand, sitting down on rights, scoring well and punishing her rival to both head and body. Stewart flashing out the jab, trying to slow down the offensive just a bit, but not having a lot of success..."

McCarthy: "Just needs to run some clock here."

O'Dell: "And, that's what she's trying to do, but Emma not letting it happen. She's staying very busy, throwing punches in bunches, and effecting a very solid cleanup if nothing else. Stewart able to counter in spots, but that's about the extent of her offense in this stanza..."

Tess: "Emma really committing on those right hands."

O'Dell: "Is, indeed. We're under twenty seconds left in the second. Watson digging a little body, landing a solid right hook. Stewart clinches, holds on, and there's the bell. Another excellent round for the British beauty, who has taken a second-consecutive round wide."

Cassie: "And pulled into a 20-18 lead."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Stewart looking to have shaken the worst of the damage now. She's got the legs back under her and she's back to that jab. Emma again looking to work in via that half-crouch and the high guard. K-Stew more active with the left, able to slow the Brit with it some now..."

Cassie: "Nice adjustment by Stewart."

O'Dell: "Is, indeed, and it's helping quite a bit. Emma not able to get inside as easily now, and that's making for more of a two-way round, with both fighters getting some, but not all of what they want. Watson inside now, working some body. Stewart tying up and getting a break."

McCarthy: "K-Stew right back in this thing."

O'Dell: "She is, at that. Emma again to middle distances, getting off, steps to, hooks the ribs. Stewart gives a little ground, gets back to the jab, lands a solid right that's definitely her best punch of the fight so far, and there's the bell. Much closer in the third, but it's Watson again."

Tess: "And, Emma's built a big three-point lead 30-27."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Stewart showing a little more movement as we start the fourth. She's doubling that jab, picking off Emma on the way in at times. Watson, when she gets past the glove, sometimes stepping to, other times working at middle distances, but always getting off quickly."

Tess: "Watson's been much more aggressive so far, but that's starting to change."

O'Dell: "It is, and it's also been the difference in the fight to this point, or a big part of it. Right now, ladies battling on pretty even terms. Stewart able to get punches put together at range, Emma doing the same when she's able to get inside Kristen's defenses, which she continues to do at times."

McCarthy: "Stewart's got this girl RIGHT where she wants her."

O'Dell: "Don't know about that, but I DO know that Kristen's having her best round of the fight to this point. We're down under fifteen seconds now. Sharp exchange and then another. Solid right hand in there from Kristen, and there's the bell. Very close again, but K-Stew is on the board."

Cassie: "But, Watson continues to lead 39-37."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Watson showing more lateral movement now. She's angling, stepping in, getting off, slipping back to range. Stewart continuing to work the left jab, drop solid right hands off it and EMMA LANDS A RIGHT HOOK! Stewart is HURT AGAIN! Watson stepping in and DOWN GOES KRISTEN!"

Cassie: "HUGE punch from Watson!"

O'Dell: "Emma to a neutral corner. Kristen down on her right side. Count at three. Four. Five. Stewart to hands and knees. Six. Seven. Eight. Kristen to her feet. Ref looking closely as he gives her the mandatory and he WAVES ON WATSON! Emma winging away now, calling in all the reserves..."

McCarthy: "She's trying to finish in a BIG way..."

O'Dell: "Absolutely is. Kristen in the high guard, backed into the ropes. Watson working body, then back to the head. She's throwing punches from everywhere, just tossing flurry after flurry at Stewart. Kristen blocking, rolling with, hanging on. Ref looking in, ready to stop this...and there's the bell!"

Tess: "Never has the term 'saved by the bell' been more accurate. But, Watson takes it 10-8 and now leads by four, 49-45."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth begins with Watson pushing forward, but Emma looking a little arm weary right now. She's expended a ton of energy so far in this fight and particularly in that last round. Stewart still unsteady on her feet, giving ground. Watson scoring, but not all that busy..."

McCarthy: "Definitely a little gassed. But, she has a big lead. She can take a round off if she needs to."

O'Dell: "Doesn't seem to be the game plan, but Kristen now firing back in combination. She's holding Emma at bay here. Watson getting tossed to the defensive at times. Looks like Stewart's figured out what we have, that the British beauty needs to recharge the batteries."

Tess: "Not a ton of power behind Stewart's punches right now..."

O'Dell: "There is not, but she's landing them and Watson's not getting a lot done in response. We're in the final fifteen seconds of the sixth round. Good right by Emma. Kristen follows with a solid combination and there's the bell. Stewart's going to take the points here, narrowly."

Cassie: "And she's cut the lead to 58-55 with four to go."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Kristen getting going quickly in the seventh. She's got the jab working, following on with right hands. Emma's getting lined up now and backed up, too. Stewart actually stepping in behind that jab at times, bringing power to bear on Watson. Emma's not hurt, but she's definitely on the defensive..."

Cassie: "And, Kris needs to keep her there. She's down three points. She can't keep losing rounds."

O'Dell: "There's definitely a sense of urgency there, as Stewart continues to be the aggressor. Emma's banging back here and there, but she's been forced to the counter now, as Kristen piles up the points and STAGGERS WATSON WITH A RIGHT HAND!"

McCarthy: "THAT'S what I'm TALKIN' about!"

O'Dell: "A BOOMING right from K-Stew and Emma is in trouble! Stewart letting the hands go, sending Watson wobbling back into the ropes. Kristen just RIPPING away now trying to finish this thing. Brit keeping the guard high, rolling and blocking, hanging on here...and there's the bell. It's Stewart and wide, but Emma's still standing."

Tess: "And still leading 67-65."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Stewart looking to finish this thing. She's coming forward, walking the wobbly Emma down. Watson giving ground, managing, trying to stay off the ropes. GOOD right hand by Kristen and Emma's knees give a shimmy. LEFT HOOK and DOWN GOES WATSON!"

McCarthy: "WHAT. I'M. TALKIN'. ABOUT!!!"

O'Dell: "K-Stew to a neutral corner. Emma down on her left side. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Watson rolls to hands and knees at six. Seven. To her feet at eight. Ref giving the Brit the mandatory and he waves on Kristen! Stewart charging forward, letting the hands go..."

Tess: "Watson looking READY to go..."

O'Dell: "But she WON'T. Emma backed to the ropes and hanging on. Kristen firing everything in the magazines at her. Emma wobbled by another right. She's hanging on desperately. BIG right hook from Stewart shakes Watson and THE REF LEAPS IN! It's OVER! The referee has seen enough and he bundles Emma to safety! And your winner by TKO8 is 'The Five-Tool Player', Kristen Stewart!"

Cassie: "What a comeback!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Cassie Scerbo!"

Cassie: "I have our winner, Kristen Stewart, and, K-Stew, looks like you win the best-of-five with Emma..."

Kristen (smiling): "Hadn't really thought much about that. When you're in with THIS girl, you've got to be focused on THIS fight and THIS round, because she IS that good, as good as anybody I've been in against."

Cassie: "But, you managed to come back after she got you down..."

Kristen: "Same philosophy there. You go out and fight THIS round. Then you worry about next round. The mistake is trying to get it all back at once. You just have to get it all back EVENTUALLY. And, I did."
