BRUNETTE AMBITION @ THE ASYLUM: A NEW BEGINNING

BEFORE:

"I think," says Alice with a smile, "That people forget about when I was here before. It was my FCBA DEBUT and I lost to Katy Perry by one bloody point! And, yes, I know this girl's made waves at lightweight and all that, but, tonight, she's stepping into MY realm, JMDD, and she's going to wish she hadn't."

"There's no doubt," says a hard-eyed Kara, "That she's well qualified for the discipline. But. That's not going to stop me from taking her out of there tonight. Count on it."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Dangerous Woman' by Ariana Grande you hear and here comes a woman who definitely fits that bill, Alice Goodwin!"

McCarthy: "And, Goodwin not only HAS FCBA wins, but this Dancing Hooker she's fighting is coming off the luckiest night of her life when she beat Palicki, so she's PRIMED for a loss tonight!"

O'Dell: "Alice into the ring and helped off with the robe, and she's looking PLENTY good in that black number she likes. And, that's 'Flawless' by The Ones you hear booming through the arena, and here comes Kara 'The Body' Del Toro..."

Tess: "And, there's no love in that look Kara's giving Mac on the way by the table..."

McCarthy: "Don't you EYE me, Del Toro! I'll come UP there..."

Cassie: "Kara already making noise at lightweight, and she's looking to do the same at JMDD..."

O'Dell: "Del Toro into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve and she's looking VERY good in that neon green number we've seen before. Ladies about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Kara. Mac?"

McCarthy: "The Dancing Hooker's luck runs out! Goodwin!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Here we go. Ladies wasting no time getting at it, just stepping to and banging away and you've got to think these are the terms Goodwin's going to want here. That being said, Kara holding her own in there as the ladies dig body, land hooks upstairs and bang a little rack..."

McCarthy: "Del Toro is an IDIOT and she PROVED that stepping up to ME! She's lucky I only fight Cougars now!"

O'Dell: "Ladies in the phone booth. Nothing sloppy happening in there, but nothing exactly pretty, either. This is a slugfest as Brit and American bang away on the inside, body, head, body, with, of course, rack not at all being ignored. SOLID right hand from Alice backs Kara up a step, but Del Toro right back forward..."

Tess: "Got to think statements are being made by both fighters right now..."

O'Dell: "I think that's the intent, yes. I'm going to be here in your grill all night. And, that's apparently the plan for both women, because nobody's willing to take a step back as the final seconds tick off in the first. Nice trade there and there's the bell. Close, but Goodwin takes the points."

Cassie: "And leads 10-9."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second verse, same as the first. Ladies in close and banging. Alice getting more physical this time, wrestling around in there some, trying to unbalance Kara, and having some success. Del Toro a bit more active this frame, especially to the body, scoring well at the moment..."

McCarthy: "If this turns into a war of attrition, Del Toro can't win it."

O'Dell: "Kara may think differently, because she's working a LOT of body right now, though not ignoring the upstairs or, of course, the rack. Alice, meanwhile, bumping and hooking and tying up in there. Using her power well. Looking to unbalance Del Toro as much as possible."

Cassie: "Not much in it again."

O'Dell: "There is not as we head into the final twenty seconds of the stanza. No change from either fighter. Working body, committing on punches, bringing power to bear over and over again. NICE right hand from Kara right there, her best punch of the fight, and there's the bell. Close again. Del Toro."

Tess: "And we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Everybody happy with where we are, so nobody's changing anything. Ladies continuing to work in close quarters, using hooks and uppies, working body, head, and rack. Everybody investing and nobody really getting the better of things, at least for the moment..."

McCarthy: "I STILL say Del Toro is playing into Goodwin's hands right now."

O'Dell: "There's no question Alice probably doesn't want to box with Kara, but the Front Streeter clearly has a fight plan..."

McCarthy: "So did Custer..."

Tess: "We made it all the way to November, but there's Mac's ONE good line of the year..."

McCarthy: "What...YOU...SHUT UP, WALMART!"

O'Dell: "Drink up boys as we head down the stretch in a competitive third round. Once again, no one able to grab any sort of advantage. Both fighters scoring well to head and body, landing solid shot while staying sound. Five seconds remaining. Good right from Goodwin and there's the bell. Close again. Alice."

Cassie: "And Goodwin pulls back into the lead 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Same again to start the fourth. Ladies banging in close and KARA LANDS A RIGHT HAND THAT HAS ALICE STEPPIN' IN FENCE POST HOLES! A NASTY right sends Goodwin staggering backward and now Del Toro is ALL OVER the Brit, battering her with both hands..."

Cassie: "She did well to stay on her feet right there..."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it, but the question is, can she do that until the end of the round, because Kara's winging away at her, forcing Goodwin into the ropes. Alice with the guard high and now it's RACK TIME for Del Toro. Kara punishing the jugs as Alice tucks the elbows and crouches..."

McCarthy: "Ref needs to watch for low blows! She's a typical dirty-fighting Dancing Hooker!"

O'Dell: "We're down under thirty seconds in the fourth. Kara looking for the stoppage, but Alice denying her. Goodwin clinching. Del Toro stacks her and then RACKS her, hammering at the jugs. Goodwin tying up again, hanging on, and the ref breaks the ladies apart at the bell. Big round for Del Toro, who pitches the shutout."

Tess: "And we're even at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Del Toro looking to finish as we start the fifth. She's right after Goodwin, who's giving ground on legs that are still plenty unsteady. GOOD right hand from Del Toro staggers Alice! Goodwin backed to the ropes again and this is about to get very, very ugly for the Brit..."

Tess: "Very, VERY ugly!"

O'Dell: "Kara DIGGING body and rack now. Alice keeping the guard up, hanging on, crouching, tying up. Kara again stacks her, PLOWS a hook into each jug. Goodwin looking ready to go. UPPERCUT, DEL TORO AND DOWN GOES GOODWIN! A blistering uppie splits the gloves and sends Alice to the canvas!"

Cassie (singing): "Turn out the liiiggghhhhttts. The party's ohhhhverrrrr..."

O'Dell: "Kara to a neutral corner. Alice down on her back parallel to the ropes. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Not much movement from Goodwin. Six. Seven. Alice pawing at the bottom rope at eight. Nine. Not gonna happen. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO5 is Kara 'The Body' Del Toro!"

McCarthy: "Lucky and dirty. Typical Dancing Hooker!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Kara Del Toro, and, Kara, another big win for you in a year FULL of them..."

Kara (smiling): "It was big, yes. Alice is obviously a power hitter and well qualified for JMDD. But, I plan to make a mark here, and, to do that, I have to beat girls like her."

Tess: "You've had some big wins at lightweight this year as well, and I'm hearing you're interested in working on the beach..."

Kara (nodding): "That's right, Tess. Lots of different ways I can go. Whatever opportunities are there, I'll take them. 2022 has been a great year. 2023? It's going to be even better."
