BRUNETTE AMBITION @ THE ASYLUM: A NEW BEGINNING
Posted by Guest on 30 November 2022 at 9:22 pm
BEFORE:
"You SAW what I did against Iggy," says a hard-eyed Jessie. "I've got the power and I've got the experience, and I'm going to take this girl out of here."
"She can hit," says Tate with a smile. "No doubt about that. But, I can hit, too. As she's about to find out."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Bang Bang' you hear behind us, and that can only mean that the singer of that tune, the lovely Jessie J is on her way to the ring..."
McCarthy: "Typical Dancing Hooker opponent. NO FCBA wins..."
Cassie: "Though she DOES have four wins in the BBU, including the one earlier this year she was referencing in the pre-fight..."
McCarthy: "BBU, BB schmoo! No FCBA wins!"
O'Dell: "Jessie into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal that black number we've seen before, and that's 'Vicious' you hear booming through the arena, and here comes 'The Calgary Crusader' Tate McRae!"
Tess: "Tate's had an excellent rookie year at Front Street, six wins in six tries and definitely wants to make it seven for seven tonight."
O'Dell: "McRae into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd popping for the lovely Ms. McRae in that admiral blue number she likes. Ladies about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Tate. Mac?"
McCarthy: "NO FCBA wins! McRae!"
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"
O'Dell: "Unanimous in the first and McRae out to prove the ladies right. She's working the left, looking to step in behind it. Jessie not having it. She's holding ground and firing back and the brunettes are LETTING THE HANDS GO IN THERE! First minute and we're ALL IN!"
Cassie: "And the crowd is LOVING it!"
O'Dell: "No doubt! Fans on their FEET here as Jessie and Tate just tag it out in the middle of the ring. Nobody willing to give an inch here! Some real BOMBS being tossed back and forth. Jessie a GOOD right hand that backs up the teenager, but Tate stepping right back to..."
Tess: "Always questions when a girl who's a light steps up to welter about whether she's physical enough to fight up here..."
O'Dell: "And, Tate aiming to ANSWER those questions right now. We're down under thirty seconds in what's been a VERY active first round. ANOTHER sharp exchange with both brunettes landing some hard shot and there's the bell. Close in the first, but Jessie going to get the points..."
McCarthy: "And take the 10-9 lead."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Second underway and a change of tactics from Tate after hearing it in the corner from Neve between rounds. McRae on the move, snapping out that jab, stepping in behind for quick flurries, then circling away. She's boxing now instead of brawling and she's taking control as a result..."
Tess: "McRae as athletic as anyone in the FCBA. This is definitely her game."
O'Dell: "And, she's playing it extremely well. Jessie unable to square up or get off most of the time. British brunette landing in counter here and there, but it's all one-shot stuff. It's the Canadian teen who's putting punches together, scoring points, building up a lead."
McCarthy: "Jessie just needs to hang with it, keep working the feet."
O'Dell: "That's definitely what she's doing as we come down the stretch in the second, but, for the moment anyway, she's having little success. Instead, it's Tate who's in command, using all that speed and quickness. GOOD combination for McRae and there's the bell. Tate. Wide."
Cassie: "And we're even at 19."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Third begins with Jessie forcing the issue now. British beauty stepping to, crowding Tate, getting very physical. McRae wants some space to move, but the older brunette's not about to give her any. Instead, she's coming forward tying up, wrestling around in there..."
McCarthy: "Just getting very aggressive, but not sloppy."
O'Dell: "Definitely not. Older woman angling, moving the head and feet, but she's determined to fight inside here, not going to allow Tate to box at range, which is a very good idea seeing the results of the last round. McRae a solid right hand, but Jessie digs to the body and backs her up with a right hook..."
Cassie: "Very good stuff from the Brit right now..."
O'Dell: "Definitely is. She's wrested control of things from the teenager, and she's getting plenty of work done. Tate not hurt, but she's absolutely getting the worst end of things. Five seconds remaining in the round. Good right from Jessie and there's the bell. Not close. Jessie J."
Tess: "And, the Brit is back in front 29-28."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Tate showing even more movement as we begin the fourth. She's using the drop step, circling, dancing, reversing her field. Jessie trying to angle, find ways forward, but Tate making that very, very difficult right now. And, Mac, some of that is movement, but even more of it is about the volume of leather coming at the Brit..."
McCarthy: "Absolutely, and that's the way you keep a girl off. I can do that anytime I want, which is what makes me the Greatest Fighting Playmate of all time!"
O'Dell: "McRae in rhythm now. She's getting the jab on, following with right hands, tossing out quick, accurate combinations. Jessie trying to get over to the offensive, but it's not happening. She can't get anything going, as Tate's speed and activity are keeping her at bay."
Tess: "It's clear what Front Street sees in McRae. She's ridiculously athletic and quick."
O'Dell: "Coming down the stretch in the fourth, and, just like in the second, save for some nice counters from the older woman, it's been all Tate all the time. NICE combination by McRae and there's another and there's the bell. Excellent round for the teenager."
Cassie: "And we're even again at 38."
ROUND FIVE:
O'Dell: "McRae on the move as we start the fifth. She's determined to get the range she wants here, and, when she does, she's able to dominate the proceedings using those quick hands and feet. Jessie continuing to try to find space to work forward, get physical, bang away..."
Cassie: "Tess talked earlier about showing you can be physical enough to fight up here. Tate's showing something else, too, that her quickness is going to be very hard for a lot of welters to handle."
O'Dell: "It may well be at that. GOOD combination there for McRae backs up Jessie. Tate stepping to and SHE DROPS THE BRIT WITH A RIGHT HAND! Jessie sent crashing to her back by a solid right hand! McRae to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Jessie sitting up at six. Seven. To her feet at eight. Ref going to give her the mandatory...and wave on Tate..."
McCarthy: "Just a minute to go. Get to the bell!"
O'Dell: "But, Tate has other ideas. McRae all OVER Jessie, backing her into the ropes. Brit in the high guard, rolling with punches, blocking, hanging on. BIG right from Tate shakes Jessie and IT'S OVER! Ref leaping in and it's OVER! And your winner by TKO5 is 'The Calgary Crusader' Tate McRae!"
Tess: "Good work from T-Mac..."
McCarthy: "Don't even START with that, Walmart!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I have our winner, Tate McRae, and, Tate, she wanted to bring the physical..."
Tate (nodding): "I know girls are going to try that when I work at welter. They're going to test me. But, I'm just going to keep passing those tests."
Tess: "So, I take it you plan to work more at welter?"
Tate (nodding): "Light, welter, beach, JMDD. I'm game for all of it. Just get me fights. That's all I ask."
