BEFORE:

"We all know why I'm here," says Katharine with a shake of the head. "I'm the easy mark for Front Street's newest hot prospect. Well. Someone's in for a surprise tonight. In fact. Just about EVERYONE is."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Touch Me', and here come the lovely singer of that tune, Katharine McPhee..."

McCarthy: "And, if there's ever been an ABSOLUTE FAILURE in the FCBA, McPhee is it! She came here with all kinds of hype almost ten years ago. We heard about how she was athletic and big and she was going to fight light and maybe welter and she was going to be a big deal and she won a fight and hasn't won one SINCE!"

Tess: "So, what you're saying Mac is..."

McCarthy: "CLASSIC Dancing Hooker opponent!"

O'Dell: "McPhee into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal a green and white striped bikini that the crowd is popping for, and now the lights go down and everyone's waiting..."

O'Dell: "And, for those of you wondering, that statuesque brunette heading to the ring is none other than Marie Temara!"

Cassie: "That would be 'The Sexy Sequoia' Marie Temara..."

McCarthy: "Weirdo and these nicknames! Does he draw them out of a HAT or something? And, I DEMAND an investigation!"

O'Dell: "Temara into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd popping in a MAJOR way for Marie in that lavender number she's wearing, one that leaves no doubt she's JMDD qualified..."

McCarthy: "Overrated! She'd never see the centerfold let alone MULTIPLE covers..."

Tess: "HERE we go..."

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, WALMART!"

O'Dell: "Drink up, boys! And, it looks like the ladies are about ready. Let's get some picks. Tess?"

Tess: "Marie."

McCarthy: "ONE FCBA win! Temara!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, we're underway. Marie aggressive early, going after Katharine here, and the veteran McPhee seems to have suspected this was coming. She's making with the jab, looking to create some space here. Marie moving the head and feet, deciding she'll go ahead and box with..."

McCarthy: 'This kid may not be as dumb as most of Weirdo's Dancing Hookers..."

Cassie: "BFF, can we start talking about pots and kettles?"

McCarthy: "Stick to boxing, Scabbo! This isn't a cooking show! Next you'll want Jordan Ramsey at this table!"

O'Dell (sighing): "Brunettes working their respective jabs, following on with rights, moving head, hands, feet. It's good, two-way boxing right now, with both fighters getting some points scored and the odd power blow landed. McPhee giving away plenty of reach but offsetting that well with angles. SHARP exchange there. Good right hands all around."

Tess: "You know, I got Jordan Ramsey's new cookbook. All KINDS of good recipes in there..."

McCarthy: "Don't get off the subject, Walmart!"

O'Dell: "Under fifteen to go in the first. It's been closely fought and both brunettes have gotten some work done. Katharine with a nice one-two. Marie responds with a solid right hand, and there's the bell. Definitely close in the first, but it's the veteran who takes the points and the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Ladies right back to range to start the second. McPhee definitely comfortable on these terms. Marie willing to play this game, at least for now, especially with that reach advantage, but veteran Katharine able to offset that very well, and the result is more two-way stuff."

Cassie: "Marie is VERY athletic, as you can see by the way she moves. She's also got a TON of power."

McCarthy: "Couldn't tell by me. She hasn't landed anything that's bothered McPhee..."

O'Dell: "Nice exchange there, again both fighters landing solid right hands. McPhee a little more active this round, and Temara has upped the work rate to hang with her. Not at lot in it for the second time in a row. Another trade and more solid leather landed there."

Tess: "Give Temara credit. She's not getting sloppy or overly aggressive here."

O'Dell: "Is not, and that can be a neat trick in a woman's first FCBA fight, especially one that's a stable debut, like the one we have here. Final seconds are ticking off the clock in the second. One last flurry from Katharine, and there's the bell. Close once again to McPhee, who moves into a 20-18 lead."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Ranged work continues as we roll into the third. Both women having success on these terms, so no one is looking to make a change and TEMARA ROCKS MCPHEE! A perfectly-timed one-two with a solid right sends Katharine stumbling back into the ropes and Marie is ALL IN!"

Cassie: "There's that power I was telling you about..."

McCarthy: "The Chin Checker or Godzilla would have had this girl out of here 10 minutes ago..."

O'Dell: "Katharine in the high, tight guard. Temara FEASTING on body right now, hooking ribs, pounding the tummy. McPhee leaning forward, clinching. Marie shrugs her off, goes right back to work downstairs, then lands a nice hook to the head. Ref looking in..."

Tess: "Katharine tying up again, running clock..."

O'Dell: "And doing so effectively. We're down to the final seconds of the round. Temara unhurried. Working body, lands a nice left hook. McPhee clinches. Ref steps in and there's the bell. It's going to be Marie and plenty wide in the third, and Temara cuts Katharine's lead to 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Temara dispensing with the niceties now. She's coming right at McPhee, walking her down behind that stiff left jab, dropping HARD right hands behind it. Katharine giving ground, keeping the guard high, still buzzed and not willing or able to do much other than retreat..."

Tess: "I NOTE, BFF, that Marie has already developed the 'Front Street Jab'..."

McCarthy: "It's. A. Jab. Every. Fighter. Has. One!"

O'Dell: "Temara with a NICE combination. That backed McPhee up and got the referee's attention. Katharine working hard to stay off the ropes, but Marie continues banging away, bringing her power to bear, finally trapping the older woman on the cables and AGAIN she goes body..."

Cassie: "And, LOOKING at Marie's body, let's just say you aren't winning a war of that kind of attrition against her..."

O'Dell: "Highly unlikely indeed. Temara another flurry and another, those two landing upstairs. McPhee hanging on as the seconds tick away in the fourth. Ref looking in. Temara back to the body, digging hard right to the bell. Not a lot of girls pitch a shutout in their first FCBA fight...but Marie just did to even things at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Temara in 'seek and destroy' mode as we begin the fifth. She's walking forward behind that left as she has been for most of the last two rounds. McPhee giving ground, trying to buy time to get the legs back under her. GOOD right from Marie, and that shook Katharine..."

Tess: "This girl can hurt you just LOOKING at you..."

O'Dell: "And, McPhee is finding that out up close and personal. Katharine keeping the guard up, jabbing back a little now, trying to slow down the Temara Express, but having no luck and DOWN SHE GOES! OH, what a straight right from Marie and DOWN GOES MCPHEE!"

Cassie (singing): "Turn out the liiiiigggghhhhhttttssss. The party's ohhhhverrrrrr...."

O'Dell: "Marie to a neutral corner. Katharine in the Maltese cross position in the middle of the ring, not moving at all. Count at three. Four. Five. This is all academic. Six. Seven. Eight. Still no movement. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO5 is 'The Sexy Sequoia' Marie Temara!"

McCarthy: "Lucky punch!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Marie Temara, and, Marie, looks like you have quite a bit of power..."

Marie (smiling): "Yeah. I can hit. But, it has to be more than that. And, that's what it's all about in the gym and ring for me. I need to learn the craft. And, there's no better place to learn it than at Front Street."

Tess: "Well, this was quite a debut! What's next for you?"

Marie: "Well, tomorrow is New Year's Day, so they won't let me work. Next day? Back in the gym and get ready for the next one."
