BEFORE:

"It's great to see Front Street back at welterweight," says Mandy with a smile. "And, there's no doubt Taylor's a girl who can have success above 130. But. She's not going to have success tonight."

"Mandy isn't just a great fighter, she's all class," says Taylor. "She's the kind of girl you root for. But, there's no sense in rooting for her tonight. Because, I'M the one going over."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Candy' and here comes the singer of that tune, Foxfire's own Mandy Moore!"

Cassie: "Moore a three-time welterweight champion and definitely a challenge for anyone in the division..."

McCarthy: "And, that's EXACTLY why she's going to crush this talentless TOOTHPICK..."

Tess: "For those of you just joining us, Mac can never admit that Taylor Hill, who has already WON the lightweight title and just had another title shot at Tiffany, is any good, because MAC is the one who released her without ownership's knowledge and GAVE her to Front Street on a silver platter..."

McCarthy: "BECAUSE. SHE. IS. A. TALENTLESS. TOOTHPICK. AND. SHUT UP, WALMART!"

O'Dell: "Drink up, boys, as the lovely Ms. Moore climbs into the ring and is helped off with the robe to reveal a yellow bikini that the fans clearly like...and, that's 'Natural' by Imagine Dragons you hear pounding through the arena, and here comes 'The Face', Taylor Hill!"

Cassie: "Hill's had another great year, 5-1 against top competition, with the only loss coming in that title shot against Nina Agdal back in September, and she's going to be looking for gold in ALL kinds of places in 2023."

O'Dell: "Hill into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. Crowd popping in a BIG way for Taylor in that azure number..."

McCarthy: "TOOTHPICK!"

O'Dell: "Aaaannnddd the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Taylor. Mac?"

McCarthy: "TALENTLESS TOOTHPICK! Neither of these two would last three with Godzilla! Moore!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "There's the bell. No surprise that two rangy fighters with plenty of boxing ability head right to gun-platform range and begin putting punches together and Mandy a NICE right hand! Moore following up with a solid combination and she's got Hill on the back foot early!"

McCarthy: "This is how you BEAT the toothpick! Get after her!"

O'Dell: "No doubt Mandy's doing that now. She's walking the younger woman down, sitting down on some HARD right hands. Taylor firing back in counter here and there, but that's about all she can manage. Moore's taken over here and done so in a BIG way..."

Tess: "Got to admit, I'm surprised. Not that Moore is doing this, but that she's doing it so early."

O'Dell: "SHARP combination from Mandy and then another one. Hill backed up yet again. Moore lands a nice jab, then hooks to the body. She's got everything working in this opening stanza. Final seconds tick away in the first and there's the bell. Not close at all. Moore."

Cassie: "And Mandy grabs the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins with an adjustment from Hill. Taylor giving a little ground, moving laterally now, not going to let Mandy line her up at this point. Moore working the feet, looking to square, getting off in combination when she can, but now Hill able to do some scoring of her own."

Cassie: "Not getting backed up this round."

O'Dell: "And, the result is a good, two-way round, the kind we'd expect to see between these two rangy boxers. Moore slick, moving head, hands, and feet. Hill a little quicker, sometimes beating the older woman to the punch. Add it all up, and there's not much in it in the second..."

McCarthy: "Moore just needs to keep working. One good shot will break the toothpick in half!"

O'Dell: "Down under fifteen seconds in the second round. Sharp exchange there, and Taylor got the better end of it. Hill gives some ground, works the jab, and will run out the final seconds of this one. Going to be close on the cards, no doubt, but it's Hill who takes the points."

Tess: "And evens the fight at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third begins the way the second ended, with Moore looking to square, step forward, and Hill looking to stay off square and hold that canvas and THERE'S A RIGHT HAND FROM MANDY AND TAYLOR IS HURT! A NASTY overhand right from Moore and Hill is WOBBLY BUTT..."

McCarthy: "IMPOSSIBLE! She HAS no butt! But, KNOCK HER OUT, MANDY!"

O'Dell: "Moore looking to do just that. She's pouring fire on Hill who's quickly backed to the ropes. Taylor tying up. Mandy shoving off. Taylor tying up again. Moore stacks her, works some body, then goes back to the head. Ref looking in closely now as the older brunette works the younger over..."

Tess: "Hill hooking a little body, jabbing in spots..."

O'Dell: "Clearly trying to avoid the stoppage. But, Mandy's all ABOUT the stoppage right now. She's hooking ribs, then going back upstairs to land a SOLID right hook! That one shook Hill and got the ref's attention. But we're under ten seconds in the third. Moore a right hand and there's the bell. BIG round for Mandy, but Taylor still standing..."

Cassie: "And, Moore pulls into the 29-28 lead."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Moore coming forward as we start the fourth. Older brunette determined to end this thing right now. Hill unsteady, giving ground and GOING DOWN AFTER A STRAIGHT RIGHT FROM MANDY! A perfectly placed right hand from Moore and Hill blown to her back!"

McCarthy: "YES! Down goes the toothpick! YES!"

O'Dell: "Moore quickly to a neutral corner. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Six. Hill to hands and knees at seven. Eight. Pushes to her feet at nine. Ref going to give Taylor the mandatory...and wave on Mandy! Moore all in, winging away with both hands. Hill battered quickly into the ropes..."

Cassie: "Gonna have to ride this out..."

O'Dell: "And, Mandy's not going to make it easy. Moore HAMMERING away upstairs. Hill keeping the guard high, tying up when she can, running clock. Fifteen seconds left. GOOD right from Mandy and the ref looking in closely. Taylor hanging on...and there's the bell. HUGE round for Moore..."

Tess: "But, again, Hill still standing, but down 39-36 after the 10-8 round."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Moore in total control now. She's walking Hill down behind that left jab, landing hard right hands to the head off it. Older brunette hooking a little body here and there, but she's mostly head hunting as she tries to take Hill out of there. Taylor's taken quite the thumping these last couple of rounds..."

Tess: "And, while she's young and has plenty of stamina, that DOES add up..."

O'Dell: "Definitely does, and there's no question Mandy's continuing to pile straws on that camel's back in this round. She's sitting down on just about everything, punishing Taylor, trying to get her to go. Hill hanging on grimly, has managed to stay off the ropes thus far, but now she's trapped there..."

McCarthy: "HOMETOWN ref! Any other ref would have stopped this!"

O'Dell: "Just under twenty seconds to go in the fifth. Solid combination from Moore. Hill again in that earmuff along the ropes, tying up, trying to run clock. Moore digs a little body, lands a nice right hook. Ref again looking in, but the final seconds tick off and there's the bell. Moore. Shutout."

Cassie: "And, Mandy in command 49-45 at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Moore continuing to pressure as we start the second half. Hill playing defense, countering a little more and a little better now. Mandy's used a ton of energy these last few rounds, so the work rate is coming down. Hill patient, waiting on her rival, looking to counter..."

Cassie: "Hill's legs looking better and better as this round goes on."

O'Dell: "Taylor definitely moving better and she's getting some offense going now, enough to hang with Mandy, especially with the older brunette throwing fewer punches than she has in the past couple of rounds. Moore still pressing, looking for the big shot, staying sound..."

Tess: "And, that's the key. A smart veteran. She wants that knockout blow, but she's not going to take unnecessary risk trying to get it."

O'Dell: "Down the stretch in the sixth. SHARP exchange there and Hill got the better of it. Moore steps to, digs some body. Taylor responds in kind and lands a nice hook to the side of the head and there's the bell. Close this time around, but Taylor's going to get the points..."

McCarthy: "And, the toothpick is still down 58-55."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Ladies setting up at gunnery range again, getting their respective boxes on. Hill popping that left jab, looking to build off it. Moore doing the same. Mandy seems to have shaken the arm-weariness of the last round and Taylor's legs are all the way back under her..."

Tess: "Meaning the ladies are back on fairly even terms, except that Taylor is down three."

O'Dell: "And, Hill doubtless knows that. Sharp exchange and another and HILL ROCKS MOORE WITH A RIGHT HAND! Mandy's knees give a shimmy, and now Taylor is all in, letting the hands go, backing up the older brunette, looking to finish this thing right now..."

McCarthy: "REF NEEDS TO WATCH FOR LOW BLOWS!"

O'Dell: "Seeing as Taylor's working almost exclusively to the HEAD, I don't think he'll see any. Mandy backing and covering, Hill committing on everything, looking to get her out of there. Just five seconds remaining in the seventh. GOOD right from Taylor and there's the bell. Hill takes it wide."

Cassie: "But doesn't get the finisher and still trails a pair, 67-65."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Hill looking to end this thing. She's forward aggressively, taking the fight to the older woman. Mandy keeping the guard high, giving ground, tying up when she can, looking to run clock here. Good right hook by Hill and that got Moore's attention. Mandy clinches..."

McCarthy: "Moore playing this smart. She's got this fight if she can shake the damage."

O'Dell: "Ref breaks the fighters. Moore jabbing, Hill dips, hooks the body with the left and DROPS MANDY WITH A BOOMING RIGHT HOOK! Moore sent crashing to her right side with a VICIOUS shot that catches her crouching and lands right on the button!"

Tess: "That may do it..."

O'Dell: "Taylor wasting no time getting to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Moore rolling to her belly at six. Seven. Mandy pushing to all fours at eight. Nine. TEN! It's over! Moore still on hands and knees as the count passes her by and it's OVER! And your winner by KO8 is 'The Face' Taylor Hill!"

Cassie: "With one heck of a comeback!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Taylor Hill, and, Taylor, it was plenty tough in there..."

Taylor (nodding): "Yeah. Never going to be easy in there with Mandy. She's not only got the welter power, but she's a great tactical fighter and an experienced veteran. She's going to test you in a big way. Fortunately, I passed."

Tess: "So, light, welter, beach. What's next for you?"

Taylor (smiling): "Any and all, Tess! I like having gold around my waist. So, any and all!"
