Anya Taylor-Joy vs Hailey Baldwin Bieber
(Writing: LMW / Results: Lookout!)

Anya Taylor-Joy
(27, 5’7, 29-7 FCBA, League of Mighty Women)

Hailey Baldwin Bieber
(27, 5’8, 1-4 FCBA, Free Agent)

Pre-Fight: In a non-title fight, League of Mighty Women’s Anya Taylor-Joy will be facing Hailey Baldwin Bieber, who is a free agent. Anya won’t be defending her title in this one, but she will still be looking to keep her winning streak going. As for Hailey, it has been a while since the last time she appeared in FCBA, so she will be looking to cause an upset against a tough opponent and showcase how much she improved.

The pre-fight press conference begins with Anya addressing the audience. “I’m taking a break from defending my title to deal with a little nuisance. Just because she has not one, but two celebrity last names, Hailey here thinks that she can skip the line and demand a title shot right away. She might be used to doing nothing and getting things that she doesn’t deserve, but it won’t be happening this time. I will give her something she deserves though, a thorough beating!”

Hailey looks nonchalant as she starts giving her own statement. “Boohoo, it’s not like I haven’t heard the ‘nepo baby’ comments hundreds of times already. I showed everyone that I’m a good fighter in my FCBA debut, but I didn’t get signed because all the other girls were jealous of me. Anya is jealous too, because even though I’m doing ‘nothing’ I’m still more popular than her. She is scared too, so she couldn’t put her ‘Empress’ title on the line, because she knew I would take it away from her. When I beat the crap out of her though, she won’t be able to deny my title shot and the rest of the FCBA won’t be able to deny my rightful place in the league!” Both fighters get up and give each other a condescending look as they pose for the cameras and then the press conference comes to a close without any issues.

It is fight night and Anya comes out first with her new coach Shania Twain accompanying her. She gives a royal wave to the fans cheering for her on her way to the ring. Inside the ring, she shakes her arms to keep her muscles loose as she listens to Shania’s instructions.

Anya is wearing a black sports bra with matching trunks, pink gloves and boots, while her hair is tied in a ponytail.

Hailey makes her entrance next as her coach follows closely behind her. She waves to the fans cheering for her as she makes her way down the aisle. When she enters the ring, she blows a kiss towards the crowd before shifting her attention to her opponent, giving her a disdainful look.

Hailey is wearing a silver sports bra with matching trunks, white gloves and boots, while her hair is also tied in a ponytail.

Both fighters come to the center of the ring to listen to the final instructions of the referee, but then neither of them goes for the touch of gloves as they clearly don’t respect each other. They step back to their respective corners and we are ready for 10 rounds of bantamweight action!

Fight: Round 1: Hailey rushes and takes control of the center of the ring right away as she makes an aggressive start to the fight. Anya looks unconcerned though as she starts with a defensive approach and lets her opponent take the center. Hailey keeps tagging her opponent with jab-straight combinations, moving in and out of range to avoid longer exchanges. Hailey utilizes her slight reach advantage well and as the round progresses and she gets more comfortable with landing these short combinations, they start to get stiffer and snap her opponent’s head back. Anya cannot get her counterattacking going either, which is unusual for her. She might have expected Hailey to make an aggressive start, but she is clearly surprised by the quality of her opponent’s offense in this opening round. She underestimated her opponent and as a result, Hailey wins the round in dominant fashion and takes the early lead.

Round 2: Winning the opening round must have boosted Hailey’s confidence as she pushes the pace at the start of the second round and increases the pressure on her opponent. She starts landing her combinations with increased frequency and even stays in range for longer exchanges. Anya slowly starts to get her counterattack game going, but it is still not at the level expected from her as she is still struggling to match Hailey’s pace and intensity after a slow start. Hailey takes advantage of it and controls the action in the first two minutes of the round, dishing out punishment to her opponent. Anya changes tactics in the final minute though and starts to be more effective with her counterattack once she starts to alternate more between targeting her opponent’s head and body. As Anya keeps changing levels, Hailey’s offense starts to lose its rhythm and her defense starts to give more openings for her opponent to take advantage of with counterpunches. Anya ducks under Hailey’s one-two combinations and lands hooks to the exposed ribs that make her opponent wince and then she comes up to check her chin with an uppercut or a hook. After this exact sequence happens a few times, Hailey backs off to limit the sudden damage she is taking for the remainder of the round. Anya barely steals the round with her elite offense in the last minute and ties things up on the scorecards.

Round 3: A more balanced start to the third round as Hailey is being more cautious with her attacks now, while Anya is also willing to initiate exchanges now as she wants to get inside and work her opponent’s body. Hailey scores with a couple of stiff crosses early on, but then Anya gets inside and starts blasting her opponent’s body with some strong shots. After a few more shots, Hailey starts backing away and Anya gives chase. Hailey tries to keep her opponent away with some defensive jabs, but Anya easily avoids them by ducking as she steps in to land more body shots. Hailey steps back again and as her opponent follows, she feints a jab with a mischievous smile on her face. As soon as Anya ducks as she steps in, Hailey lands a crunching uppercut to her chin that buckles her knees and Anya crumbles to the canvas! The crowd draws a collective gasp as Hailey struts to the neutral corner, looking smug and the referee begins the count! 1…2…3… Anya slowly pushes herself off the canvas, she looks like she is still trying to figure out what just happened 4…5…6… she shakes her head in disappointment as she plants her right foot and places her forearm over it, preparing to get up after she musters her strength 7…8… she gets up to her feet and raises her guard to show the referee that she can continue. After a quick check, the referee restarts the action!

Hailey quickly closes the distance to apply pressure with her attack and finish her opponent off, but Anya seems to have recovered enough to defend herself well. Hailey fires away with short combinations, but they either get blocked or dodged by her opponent. Anya survives this round, but she clearly underestimated her opponent and Hailey is making her pay for it. During the break, Shania is showing some tough love to Anya as she questions her desire to win this fight, hoping to fire her up.

Round 4: Hailey tries to put the pressure on her opponent again at the start of the fourth round, but Anya looks more determined and focused now. She deals with Hailey’s attack easily and answers back with crisp counterpunches. Not wanting to lose her advantage, Hailey is forcing the issue, but it is backfiring as Anya is winning the exchanges right now with the combination of her precise defense and offense. This time it is Anya’s one-two combinations that snap Hailey's head back with each impact. Anya also keeps her opponent guessing as she alternates her attacks between head and body. By the halfway point, Hailey looks to be getting wobbly on her feet, so she switches to a completely defensive approach to limit the damage she is taking. It is not helping her much though, because Anya is able to find openings and slip punches through her opponent’s guard, so Hailey ends up clinching with her to slow her down. She employs the same tactic a few more times until the end of the round as Hailey clearly struggled with the level of her opponent’s boxing skills for the first time in this fight. Anya wins the round wide and ties up the scorecards once again.

Round 5: As the fifth round begins, Anya is in firm control of the action and things are not looking good for Hailey, who started the fight so well. She is now swinging wildly to fight her way back into the fight, but she is only giving more openings for Anya to exploit. Anya doesn’t turn this opportunity down and blasts Hailey with body shots to her exposed ribs. This forces Hailey to protect her body and when she does so, Anya switches targets and blasts her chin with a couple of hooks. Hailey clinches with her opponent to buy herself some time, but once they are separated, Anya quickly puts the pressure on her again. A stiff jab-straight combination snaps Hailey’s head back and she starts backing away as she raises her guard up tight. Anya lands a crunching right hook to her opponent’s ribs, which breaks Hailey’s guard again. Anya switches targets and lands a couple of hooks to the chin. Hailey is wobbly as she tries to step up and clinch, but Anya stops her with a quick jab and then a brutal right hook lands on the chin! Hailey’s mouthguard flies off as she collapses to the canvas on her knees, face down and with her butt in the air! She is out cold and seeing that the referee signals for the bell! It is all over!

Official Result: Winner via KO in round 5, Anya Taylor-Joy!

Post-Fight: Anya quickly places the tip of her boot on the small of Hailey’s back and flexes her arms for a victory pose. She also mocks her by yelling “See, this is your rightful place in the FCBA!” The referee urges her to leave her opponent alone as the medical staff enters the ring to check up on Hailey. Anya shrugs her shoulders and goes over to her corner to celebrate with her new coach Shania. On the other side, Hailey slowly regains her consciousness and the medical staff lets her take her time as they evaluate her, then they help her to get up to her feet and escort her backstage.

At the center of the ring, Anya gets her hand raised by the referee and then she takes the microphone to make a post-fight statement. “Hailey was feisty, I will give her that, but once I got my head in the game, the skill difference was obvious, so we got what she deserved in the end. I’m also hearing others that are calling me out for my ‘Empress’ title and I will deal with all those bytches, but I have my own business to take care of too, so it will happen when I say so!” With that, Anya blows a kiss to the fans and then heads backstage with her coach Shania.
