Wumri Mosaku vs Sayuki Matsumoto

Round 1: It’s a rapid start from Matsumoto, who comes off her stool with force and power, and she’s punching the poor girl from the first minute onward with all her force, going for the African’s body from the outset. It’s all Sayuki in the first round as the rusty Wumri cannot keep up with her surprising power.

Round 2: Wumri finds respite in walling up and blocking off Sayuki’s power while throwing counterpunches to catch the girl out. It proves to be very effective as she takes the second round as powerfully as Sayuki took the first.

Round 3: It’s a strange start to the round as Matsumoto seems to have slowed down, only landing a few crisp little shots in the first minute. Wumri’s a little confused here as Matsumoto metaphorically leads her around on a leash, never letting her connect and remaining ever out of reach. Sayuki takes the third round by a slim margin.

Round 4: Wumri’s pushing hard to break Matsumoto’s guard but is unable to find a connection even if she is able to push the other girl around, chasing her hither and thither. It looks like she’s the one with the upper hand here, though, and so the judges award her the round based on points.

Round 5: It was all bait! Sayuki walled up to let Wumri tire herself out. It’s all Sayuki in round five as she tosses the African fighter like couscous salad before finishing her off in the second minute with a powerful shot to the chin.

Winner: Sayuki Matsumoto via KO5!
